The Day’s Recomndation for today was rum. [2] Moreover, it’s locally produced rum! Wow, and here I thought rum was a foreign product.
According to the descriptions, Japan first began the manufacturing of rum back in 1979 in Tokunoshima, Kagoshima prefecture. Since rum is made from the by-product of sugar canes, it’s generally produced in southern areas like Okinawa and Kagoshima. [5]
It turns out that Japanese rum is quite highly evaluated in recent years. So even won prizes at international competitions. The one recomnded by the Manager was a rum made in Minamidaito Island within the Okinawa Prefecture. An additive-free, colouring free rum made with sugar canes grown in the sa area.
Although rum generally has a very high alcoholic content, it’s recomnded to drink this rum at 25% ABV (alcohol by volu). This rum is known to be easy to drink even for people who are not familiar with rum.
Moreover, it has a light, pleasant sweetness and aroma. It is recomnded that you dilute it with water or serve it on the rocks.
