"That was the first ti I experienced a farewell by death."

"Next was Grandpa. I always thought that maybe Grandpa just got lost; it’s normal for the elderly to beco confused all of a sudden. It wasn’t until Senior Kazama confessed that I realized Grandpa had been dead for three years."

"And now it’s Jun’s turn. I still rember when he helped move, just trailing behind with a little cart, wagging his tail."

"Who’s next? Who else will go before ?"

When Minamoto Tamako asked the last question, she turned to look at Fushimi Roku, her eyes full of unease.

Fushimi Roku knew what she was thinking and knew what to say at that mont.

"I won’t die."

"Because I love you, I won’t die."

He spoke softly, worried others might hear, as these were lines from a TV drama, and saying them in reality was sowhat embarrassing.

Minamoto Tamako instantly recognized them as lines from "101 Proposals," which they watched yesterday.

She felt inexplicably touched, her sadness dissipating a lot, realizing it was better to face things together than to bear them alone.

Perhaps, this is also what "couples are supposed to do."

"Mm."

Minamoto Tamako held the urn wrapped in yellow cloth, slightly turned, and leaned her head on Fushimi Roku’s shoulder.

Fushimi Roku could see the small swirl at the top of her head and the little nose tip showing under her bangs.

When the train announced their stop, they stood up and got off to walk ho.

Fushimi Roku slightly tilted his head, observing Minamoto Tamako. She seed to have recovered, though her eyes were still a bit red, she didn’t look as sad anymore.

Perhaps she didn’t want to bring bad emotions ho.

All the way, Minamoto Tamako was thinking about how to tell Taira Sakurako about this. When she got ho and finally spoke to Sakurako, the latter just responded with a very simple "Oh," and said, "I know."

"Uh, did you know beforehand?"

Minamoto Tamako felt Sakurako’s reaction was too bland.

Taira Sakurako was still playing video gas; she had finished "Demon City" and was now playing "The Legend of Zelda." "I had a vague suspicion before. When I got back, I hadn’t seen Jun, and you didn’t explain anything, so I guessed what happened."

"Aren’t you sad?" Minamoto Tamako asked.

"I am," Taira Sakurako replied. "That’s why I need to play gas earnestly, to not think about those sad things."

Hearing this, Minamoto Tamako gently hugged her.

After they comforted each other, Fushimi Roku ntioned the moving plans. Minamoto Tamako expressed confusion, so he explained his room situation.

Of course, he didn’t ntion anything about Cat Island’s coordinates, preventing Tamako from getting the idea of heading there impulsively to catch soone.

"But there’s no need to move! We can call the Identification Officer to co over; maybe there’s still so evidence left!"

Regardless of Fushimi Roku’s response, Minamoto Tamako went ahead and called the police departnt to notify them to send soone over.

Kinosaki Shoujin originally didn’t intend to handle this but was forwarded to Kujo Yua’s newly established international organized cri section. They indicated that the police departnt should send people to investigate and compile the records to send over, leaving him no choice but to go himself.

Half an hour later, Kinosaki Shoujin arrived at the ’scene’ with Identification Officers, rummaging through Fushimi Roku’s room and taking photos non-stop.

Minamoto Tamako seized the opportunity to explain Fujimura-kun’s reasons for disobedience.

After listening, Kinosaki Shoujin waved it off, indicating he didn’t mind, as he was already accustod to Fushimi Roku’s laid-back attitude. What’s important is how Chief Kujo and the police departnt view it.

Minamoto Tamako thought it would be easy to explain to her mother, as she could call her when she’s free. However, as for the police departnt, it might be a bit troubleso. But as long as Fujimura-kun didn’t do anything wrong, everything would eventually be explained.

After all, upright people shouldn’t fear gossip!

They busied themselves for over two hours, moving everything out. Since it was a significant case, no mistakes were allowed, even Fushimi Roku’s bed beca evidence.

If Minamoto Tamako wasn’t Kujo Yua’s daughter, her ho would have been sealed off by now.

After Kinosaki Shoujin left, Fushimi Roku looked at the empty room and turned to ask, "Where do I sleep tonight?"

He deliberately asked this, wanting to sleep with Minamoto Tamako tonight.

"The sofa," Taira Sakurako retaliated mischievously. "You were sleeping on the sofa last night anyway."

Fushimi Roku gave her a glare, indicating she should stay out of the adults’ conversation.

Minamoto Tamako felt that breaking the news of Jun’s death today probably hurt Sakurako’s feelings, so she decided to sleep with Sakurako tonight to comfort her wounded heart, leaving Fujimura-kun to sleep on the sofa again.

"Sigh."

Fushimi Roku sighed, intending to go out to the balcony to get so air, only to find it already occupied.

Kazama Tatsuya hadn’t left; he’d been on the balcony like a transparent person, occasionally smoking, staring at the lawn in a daze. Seeing Fushimi Roku coming over, he instinctively offered him a cigarette.

"Quit," Fushimi Roku declined politely.

Kazama Tatsuya didn’t ask why, just rested his hands on the railing, blowing white smoke against the evening breeze. "Jun asked if you’re free tonight."

"What’s up?" Fushimi Roku leaned against the railing as well.

"The special investigation team disbanded, he just finished up, so he wants to ask you out for a drink. What else could it be?" Kazama Tatsuya flicked off the ash. "I’d been aning to ask you while you’re busy. So what’s up with the bombing case?"

Fushimi Roku briefly recounted the incident, omitting parts that shouldn’t be disclosed, then asked, "Sure, let’s have a drink. Why don’t you join too?"
