Tokyo: Rabbit Officer and Her Evil Partner Chapter 568 - 392: King of Popularity (Part 2)
Good, it’s not out of the bag yet.
Fushimi Roku let out a long sigh, pulling up his pants, feeling that this strategy was a bit disgraceful. After all, he was a man with Intelligence rated S, he shouldn’t always rely on such underhanded thods to save his skin.
The bathroom door resounded with a knock, and Kujo Yua stood outside the frosted glass door, with a faint ghostly silhouette visible. She questioned eerily, "Teacher Fushimi... why didn’t Tamako do her howork?!"
"Sorry, I’m currently using the bathroom, let finish first—"
"I asked you why she didn’t do her howork!!!" Kujo Yua shrieked piercingly, her sharp nails scrapping against the glass door, creating a grating sound, leaving five deep scratch marks on the backside of the door.
It seed that little Tamako hadn’t sold him out, yet he chose to kick him while he was down: "Sigh, I tried persuading her, but she threw a tantrum saying, ’My family pays you, you have no right to lecture ,’ and even threatened to tear up her howork... Maybe she’s entered a rebellious phase! As a private tutor, I’ve done my utmost."
"What?! There’s actually such a thing!!"
The shadow outside the frosted glass door gradually faded; Kujo Yua probably floated away, planning to settle accounts with little Tamako.
Fushimi Roku seized the chance to open the bathroom door, peered outside, and just caught sight of Kujo Yua floating into little Tamako’s room. He hurriedly oiled the soles of his feet, preparing to sneak out through the entrance.
As he passed by little Tamako’s room, Kujo Yua was poking Tamako’s head again. The latter remained silent, remarkably not exposing Teacher Fushimi’s lie, enduring all the bla quietly, ultimately being dispatched by Kujo Yua to reflect in the closet.
"Where do you think you’re going?!" Kujo Yua’s head rotated 180 degrees, her neck twisted like a pretzel, staring at Fushimi Roku, as if afraid he’d make a run for it.
"Uh, I guess it’s ti for to clock out..." Fushimi Roku bluffed.
"Clock out? Dream on! You can’t leave tonight unless little Tamako finishes her howork!!"
Kujo Yua extended her sharp claws, pounced; Fushimi Roku tried to dodge but was locked in place by an unseen force, his body unable to move, only able to watch helplessly as those slender hands plunged into his collarbone, dragging him forcibly back into the room.
Fushimi Roku couldn’t resist, he could only attempt to pacify: "Alright, alright! I’ll tutor Miss Tamako with her howork! Just please don’t injure my hands or feet, if my hands break, I can’t write or explain the material!"
Kujo Yua paused her action, truly not breaking his hands, but she did break his legs, ensuring he stayed obediently in the room, without thoughts of escape.
Fushimi Roku’s legs were in excruciating pain, feeling like gout had flared up, leaving him in a state of helplessness.
Even if he could dismantle a Gundam barehanded in reality, in Minamoto Tamako’s dream, he is no match for her mom... Clearly, Tamako fears Kujo Yua more than Fushimi Roku does.
With a bang, the room door shut; a sound of locking followed, Kujo Yua had locked them inside the room.
Fushimi Roku slumped into a chair, cosplaying as Hawking, letting out a long sigh, turning to look at the closet, where faint sobbing noises from little Tamako emanated.
He hesitated for a mont, then pushed the wheelchair forcefully, sliding over to the closet, pulling open the sliding door.
He saw little Tamako with her arms hugging her knees, curled up in a corner, crying her heart out, her little face a ss of tears and snot, her mood ter had bottod out, turning into a short red bar.
Fushimi Roku was quite disappointed, even after so much, Minamoto Tamako hadn’t woken up... Looks like he guessed wrong, bringing down Tamako’s mood ter didn’t help at all.
Could it be that he needed to make Tamako happy?
Fushimi Roku stroked his chin, feeling that this ss was hard to salvage, and Tamako probably wouldn’t forgive him if she didn’t stop crying... He himself felt too embarrassed to speak, after all, he played the part of the betrayer earlier.
At this mont, a spark of inspiration hit him, and he thought of a good idea, asking proactively: "Tamako, do you need to use the bathroom?"
If Minamoto Tamako wet the bed again, wouldn’t she wake up?
Little Tamako didn’t understand why Teacher Fushimi asked this, she didn’t want to probe deeper nor did she want to pay attention to Fushimi Roku, instead, she turned her head away and continued crying.
"Stop crying, it was my fault earlier, I’m sorry..."
Fushimi Roku tried to make ands with little Tamako, softening his tone, coaxing Tamako by saying: "How about I help you finish your howork?"
This was the first ti he earnestly admitted wrongdoing to Minamoto Tamako, without using a Redemption Voucher, or Rabbit Coins, nor coming up with excuses or lies, but honestly admitting his mistake and apologizing to Tamako.
Sure enough, in a dream, anything is possible.
However, little Tamako wasn’t appreciative, she had no romantic notions, her mind clear, experiencing such a backstab, there was naturally a reason for anger, she sobbed: "No! I’ll do it myself! You’re a bad teacher!"
"I didn’t an it, you saw earlier; if Miss Kujo finds out that I let you play, she’d kill ." Fushimi Roku’s composure broke instantly, starting to make excuses.
"Then why did you let play... I could finish my howork at ho..." Tamako grew angrier, as Teacher Fushimi didn’t keep his word.
"I was testing you, testing your commitnt to studying," Fushimi Roku crossed his arms, shaking his head with a sigh, saying: "Unfortunately, you didn’t pass my test."
"Nonsense!" Tamako wasn’t buying it.
Fushimi Roku was getting a headache, feeling that young Minamoto Tamako was more astute than her older self, not so easily deceived, he had no choice but to appeal emotionally, backtracking: "I promise it won’t happen again next ti, I’m really sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose."
Tamako’s heart softened sowhat, seeing his earnest admission of fault, her inner resentnt dissipated slightly, she pouted, saying: "I’m not greedy for fun... I just wanted to make a friend!"
She said the sa thing last ti, going out to make friends. Fushimi Roku felt a twinge in his heart, vaguely grasping Tamako’s weakness, he shifted the conversation, saying: "Actually, I’m quite popular at school as a popular teacher, if you want to learn how to make friends, I can teach you."
Sure enough, Tamako took the bait: "Re-Really?"
Fushimi Roku nodded repeatedly, showing a weasel deceiving a chick smile, beckoning, "Of course, you don’t know that everyone calls ’Popularity King,’ no matter where I go, I’m the center of small groups!"
Tamako listened with her eyes full of longing, the snot and tears on her face still unwiped, looking pitiful, she couldn’t help but swallow, "C-Can I learn too?"
"Even dummies can learn, you’ll definitely be able to!" Fushimi Roku gave a thumbs up.
Tamako wasn’t angry anymore, she wiped her face haphazardly with her sleeve and slowly crawled out of the closet.
A child’s temper cos and goes quickly; if it were an adult, they’d definitely sever ties with Fushimi Roku over such a serious betrayal.
Fushimi Roku didn’t plan to go back on his word, taking the initiative to teach her a few social tricks, after all, with his lv7 Social Charm, teaching a grade-schooler was more than sufficient.
Little Tamako listened to the lesson while making up for her howork, this ti she didn’t dare leave it to Teacher Fushimi, afraid he might ’test’ her again.
"...In summary, the essence of making friends is to build a ’mutually satisfying emotional connection,’ deeply rooted in ’similarity attraction.’ If you just want to make superficial friends, use my ’three-minute ice-breaker tricks’ I ntioned earlier; if you want a deep, intimate friend, you’ll just have to wait."
Finishing, Fushimi Roku scratched his knee, as his lower body was numb now, tingling with a hint of itchiness.
Tamako bit the tip of her pencil, frowning in conflict, "I don’t want superficial friends, I want really, really good ones, just like partners in a detective novel..."
"Such friends don’t co by easily, when you et them, you don’t need any social skills, you’ll naturally beco friends," Fushimi Roku thought it was interesting she’s been thinking about partners since such a young age.
"Can I really et them?" Tamako felt a bit uneasy.
Fushimi Roku thought of Kawai, and couldn’t help but reach out to pat Tamako’s head, solemnly saying, "Believe , you definitely will."
