"Now is not the ti to talk about this." Fushimi Roku diverted the topic.

"Hmm, right."

Minamoto Tamako shook her head, clearing the chaotic thoughts from her mind. She focused, ready to deal with any sudden situations.

This short-distance train from the city to the countryside typically has 10 cars, each with 100 seats. The front cars have 80 seats, with no sleeping berths or dining cars, carrying nearly a thousand passengers in total.

If you break it down, three hundred people are still a lot. Everyone has put their stakes on the table; those on the train are all "insiders," professionals, and should a confrontation occur, no one is afraid of anyone else.

The problem is that the Heavenly Punishnt Group recruited a bunch of death-defying societal outcasts, placing a ’Bomb Man’ in each car. If the criminal police take action, these Bomb n are truly willing to detonate the bombs strapped to them—the initial two explosions were just the group blowing up two detonators.

As the three of them reached the fifth car, what they saw was a ss of flesh and gore, splattered across half of the seats. The left side of the car had a large hole, with cold wind rushing in, allowing them to see the snowy scenery speeding past outside.

"This... this..."

Minamoto Tamako’s face turned pale; it was the first ti she had seen such a devastating scene. Chihi’s reaction was even worse, as she leaned against the wall, dry-heaving.

The Heavenly Punishnt Group was determined to eliminate all gang mbers, and if the criminal police interfered, they would eliminate them too.

"Do you see? This is absolute justice." Fushimi Roku said with a smile.

Only now did Minamoto Tamako understand what could turn an ordinary person into one so fanatically committed, willing to risk their life in combat... Of course, it was in the na of justice, honor.

—Absolute justice is absolute evil.

If so, then what is true justice?

Is the ’justice’ she pursues the right path?

She couldn’t help but recall the incident with Kai Yuuta falling from the building. If procedural justice were to be pursued, would dog theft count as indirect murder? If substantial justice were the goal, where are the boundaries of the law?

These doubts weren’t new. After experiencing the massacre case and the two falling incidents, Minamoto Tamako had subconsciously been contemplating these issues. The visual shock of this scene, coupled with Fushimi Roku’s comnts, beca the final straw.

At this mont, Minamoto Tamako felt truly lost.

She felt like a seeker, unsure of where her path lay.

Fushimi Roku patted her on the back, pushing her forward: "Now is not the ti for wild thoughts. Co on, aren’t you going to the battlefield to prove yourself?"

Minamoto Tamako replied with a "Hmm," took a deep breath, and just as she was about to take a step, a shrill siren suddenly wailed outside the train car.

The two quickly moved towards the opening, leaning out to see the indicator light at the front of the train flickering with a clang. The intersecting tracks slowly switched directions as the train whizzed by, carrying them towards an unknown destination.

Intense gunfire echoed from the front. The track shift had broken the criminal police’s bottom line; they were in a fierce confrontation with the Heavenly Punishnt Group. Fushimi Roku quickly passed through the car, with Minamoto Tamako and Yougetsu Tsubaki following closely. The three arrived at the fourth car, where a crowd was packed, making it impossible to see the situation ahead.

As expected, the aisle in the car could barely allow two people to walk side by side. With everyone crowding the first few cars, there was no room for a passionate shootout.

The second car was the main battlefield. The Heavenly Punishnt Group concentrated in the first car and the engine, while the Investigation Division and the Inakawa Association tried to break in, engaging in fierce hand-to-hand combat in the second car.

Despite having firepower support and decent individual skills, the Investigation Division and the Inakawa Association were still on the defensive — their repeated charges were repelled, and their morale was noticeably lower than that of the Heavenly Punishnt Group.

"Back away! Everyone disperse!"

Kinosaki Shoujin roared, commanding the Investigation Division’s criminal police to pull back. The mbers of the Inakawa Association, shouting about courage and spirit, refused to retreat, blocking the car.

Kinosaki Shoujin grabbed the leader of the Inakawa Association, a guy nad Hotta Hidego, telling them to obediently retreat, or to move forward. After a brief negotiation, they finally started slowly leading people to the back.

Seeing the enemy voluntarily retreat, the Heavenly Punishnt Group’s morale soared, and a few of them shouted:

"You killed so many of our brothers, you bastards are all accomplices! You’re murder accomplices!"

"That’s right! The only way gangs can be so rampant is because corrupt protectors like you exist!"

"Heavenly punishnt on you bastards! You’re in cahoots with the gangs! Heavenly punishnt!!"

"When the train reaches the station, we’ll call in the reinforcents and kill all these evil people!!"

...

Realizing their desperate situation, the Investigation Division understood that they had to regain control of the train. The Inakawa Association had long since been fighting with all they had.

Kinosaki Shoujin turned and fired two shots, one of which pierced through an enemy’s left eye, splattering brain matter. The enraged Heavenly Punishnt Group threw in several homade smoke bombs, soon enveloping the place in thick mist that brought tears to the eyes and triggered bouts of coughing.

A chaotic battle cry sounded as the Heavenly Punishnt Group, under the cover of the smoke bombs, rushed with knives through the second car. In an instant, the deafening gunfire began anew, with muzzle flashes lighting the darkness and bullets flying everywhere, as blades flashed repeatedly, painting the scene in blood.

Kinosaki Shoujin collapsed onto the ground, fearing friendly fire and stray bullets. He rolled beneath the seats and crawled backward, his ears assaulted by constant screams and trampling in the chaos.

He hadn’t crawled far before he found himself face to face with Hotta Hidego, who was also lying prone beneath a seat. The two exchanged glances.

"You’re crawling the wrong way! Car three is back there!" Kinosaki Shoujin shouted.

"You’re the one crawling the wrong way! I’m sneaking over to seize the driving compartnt! A commander doesn’t run away on the battlefield, you spineless bastard!" Hotta Hidego said angrily.

"This is a strategic retreat!" Kinosaki Shoujin retorted: "Going alone is suicide, you brainless Yakuza!"

"Damn you! Say what you want, I don’t have ti to argue, get out of my way!" Hotta Hidego grabbed to pull him. Kinosaki Shoujin refused to yield, saying it should be Hotta Hidego who moved aside.

The two wrestled and tumbled under the seat, bumping into soone’s leg. Hotta Hidego looked up to see a disheveled middle-aged man, looking like an ordinary passenger caught up in the chaos. The man leaned on the wall, seemingly oblivious to the hail of gunfire around him.

"Why is there a regular passenger? Get lost if you don’t want to die! Run to the back cars!" Hotta Hidego pulled at the man’s leg.

"Do you have a gun?" the man asked.

"Huh? You can’t be with the Heavenly Punishnt Group, right?" Hotta Hidego raised his head, examining the man who also exuded an air of despair, quickly drew his gun to act first.

Kinosaki Shoujin recognized the voice and was about to stop him, but saw the man’s ankle full of bruises, stepping on Hotta Hidego’s wrist and snatching his gun.

"Bomb!! Get down!!"

Soone in the crowd shouted, followed by another violent explosion that rocked the train. Kinosaki Shoujin caught himself on his elbows, but the tremor left his ears ringing and his insides churning.

As the smoke cleared, the car door was open, the chilling wind whistling through. The surviving cops and gang mbers looked up to see a man and a woman standing on either end of the aisle.

Kazama Tatsuya raised his gun with one hand, aiming at his daughter.
