Phoenix Academy Maggie was in a very good mood.
She had just completed a very successful assist.
The Space Self-Defense Force manga had successfully improved Yoshikawa Sayuri's opinion of Hojo Tetsuji. Even Nomura True Wave was very surprised.
The outwardly beast-like Hojo Tetsuji had actually managed to draw a mainstream manga with intense battles and romance.
Especially shocking was the fact that the male protagonist was modeled after Hojo Tetsuji himself.
To be honest, even Phoenix Academy Maggie was sowhat shocked.
Initially, she had suggested not adding a beard or sunglasses, letting Hojo Tetsuji adopt such an image at the beginning to increase the impact of the reveal.
But she had never thought that Hojo Tetsuji, without his sunglasses and beard, would actually be a high school student!
Perhaps it was a bit rude to say, but only after Tetsuji removed his sunglasses and beard did Phoenix Academy Maggie realize he was a peer.
She couldn't understand why Hojo Tetsuji was so keen on wearing sunglasses.
Phoenix Academy Maggie's mind raced with questions as she parted ways with Nomura True Wave and Yoshikawa Sayuri at the classroom door.
As she walked to her own seat, she noticed that Ayatsuki Ayaka's gaze toward her was different from before.
In the past, Ayatsuki Ayaka's gaze was filled with hostility, treating her completely as an enemy. Annoying as that gaze might have been, it was better than the look she gave now.
Now, Ayatsuki Ayaka would casually sweep her gaze over her, occasionally showing a very proud little expression, as if showing off sothing.
Or rather, it wasn't showing off, but simply Ayatsuki Ayaka believing she had surpassed her, no longer seeing her as a rival.
This made Phoenix Academy Maggie sowhat irritated.
She knew her actions were a bit slow, but love wasn't like waiting in line to buy vegetables, where the first in line gets served first. Timing is also crucial. I have to find my own mont.
I want to gradually close the distance with Aozawa without revealing my own thoughts and figure out his attitude. The subtle balance of this process isn't sothing I can casually discuss with others.
With that on her mind, she walked straight to her seat.
"Miss, please help join the manga club!"
Upon hearing this request, Phoenix Academy Maggie shook her head. "Impossible."
She refused without hesitation.
Hojo Tetsuji was taken aback. "Why not?"
"The manga club is where True Wave, Little Sayuri, and I are. Why would a guy like you co and join in the fun?"
Phoenix Academy Maggie's attitude was quite resolute.
"Don't say such heartless things. Tetsuji is a manga artist, and your manga club should have soone who is good at drawing manga, right?" Aozawa spoke up in support.
Phoenix Academy Maggie gave him a sidelong glance, replying irritably, "If a girl suddenly joined a club with three guys, it would definitely be awkward. So topics couldn't be discussed. It's the sa for girls; so topics aren't suitable for boys to overhear. I don't want our free-spirited manga club to suddenly have restrictions."
"Can't help it," Hojo Tetsuji muttered. He didn't persist any further, opting to give up. He then slumped down on his desk. "I'll sleep then."
Aozawa organized Hojo Tetsuji's manga drafts and smiled. "What do you girls usually talk about?"
Phoenix Academy Maggie flicked his forehead with her hand and said languidly, "Girl's secrets are not to be casually inquired about."
"That's what you say, but you actually dared to hit . Believe it or not, I'll flick you back?" Aozawa rubbed his forehead and replied with feigned ferocity.
Phoenix Academy Maggie scoffed and glared. "You dare?"
Aozawa lifted his hand as if to strike her forehead.
"HMM~" Phoenix Academy Maggie let out a cute nasal sound, like a little tiger preparing to act fierce. Her eyes widened, attempting to stop his action with a sharp gaze.
Aozawa's hand reached her forehead, but instead of flicking it, he gently stroked her nose with his index finger.
The touch of his fingertip was as smooth as silk.
It reminded him of the warmth and softness of a girl who had fallen and acted as his cushion.
Wait a second, could I possibly use the trick of 'always having a girl as a cushion when falling' to play a prank on Ayatsuki Ayaka?
He decided to find an opportunity to try it and said, "This is my revenge."
"Hmph. Boxer shorts," Phoenix Academy Maggie said, a hint of a smile crossing her face. She wasn't particularly bothered by such revenge.
DING-DONG-DONG. The bell for class rang out.
Her front deskmate, as well as Tetsuji's front and side deskmates, stopped wandering around and headed to their seats.
Phoenix Academy Maggie also turned around. She touched her nose, carefully revisiting the sensation of his fingertip sliding over it.
The softness and smoothness of my own skin must have also made an impression on Aozawa's fingertips, right?
Thinking this, Phoenix Academy Maggie's mood beca even more joyful.
After class ended, the leisurely break ti arrived.
Aozawa closed his textbook and rubbed his temples. He was trying to relieve his brain, which felt drenched with knowledge. He wished he could make so progress in learning new things, but it was a truly arduous task that made his head throb.
DING-DONG. His phone buzzed.
Aozawa took out his phone.
Phoenix Academy Maggie instinctively wanted to peek at the screen.
"Hey, don't just peep at soone's phone!" Aozawa reminded the young lady. He then clicked on the ssage and found it was from the class president, asking him to tell Hojo Tetsuji to rember his cleaning duty after school.
"Please!" she had typed, followed by a GIF of a rabbit prostrating itself.
"Pfft, what's the big deal? It's just a ssage from Ayatsuki Ayaka, isn't it?" Phoenix Academy Maggie suppressed her desire to look and teased, trying to probe him. "If you want to chat so badly, just go talk to her in person. Why bother ssaging on LINE?"
"No, it's a ssage from the class president. She asked to tell Tetsuji that it's his turn for cleaning duty today."
Aozawa's answer made Phoenix Academy Maggie shift her gaze to the class president. The mont Phoenix Academy Maggie looked over, the class president's eyes darted away like a frightened rabbit.
"When did you get the class president's LINE account?"
"I've had it for a while."
"That figures. Knowing you, you probably have the LINE accounts of all the girls in class. You're such a playboy! You and the Hot Girl would be evenly matched rivals."
Phoenix Academy Maggie rested her cheek on her hand. Her scolding words were betrayed by a face free of hostility. It was like the gentle sunlight outside, or a sumr orange-flavored soda—sweetness tinged with a hint of sourness.
Aozawa rolled his eyes and said irritably, "Stop making things up. I only have five female friends on LINE, and just three of them are from our class."
"Oh, is that so?"
Phoenix Academy Maggie fell into thought.
The girls in class are predictable: Ayatsuki Ayaka, the class president, and . One of the girls outside class is also predictable: Hojo Shouko. But who is the other one? My mind raced. The class president and Hojo Shouko can be ruled out. If I ask about the other unknown girl now, it would show I'm too interested. I'll let it go for now. The most troubleso one right now is still Ayatsuki Ayaka.
She glanced toward the tanned Hot Girl on the other side of the classroom.
"Ha ha!" Ayatsuki Ayaka laughed lodiously. Her large eyes admired the "wig" on Tama Chan's head. "Saeko, you can actually cut hair? That's amazing!"
Takahashi Saeko twirled the scissors, a confident expression on her face. "Ayaka, it's nothing. I can even give myself a haircut."
"You can cut your own hair?" Admiration appeared on Ayatsuki Ayaka's face.
Tama Chan removed the cheerleader pom-pom she was wearing as a wig, grumbling, "Saeko, you're boasting a bit too much. Can you really do a good job cutting your own hair?"
Miyahara Kaoru nodded. "Yeah, you can use a mirror to see the top and sides, but what about the back of your head?"
"Use several mirrors. If you make good use of the principle of reflection, you can see the back of your head," Takahashi Saeko claid confidently. "Combine that with a bit of judgnt, and you can cut your own hair."
Ayatsuki Ayaka was convinced but still puzzled. "Saeko, instead of going to such trouble, why don't you just go to a hair salon?"
"I don't like other people touching my head," Takahashi Saeko said, putting down her scissors, her expression serious. "Secondly, hair salons are very dangerous places. The hairstylist's scissors could slip and stab your neck or the back of your head at any mont. That would be lethal."
"Ha ha, that kind of thing couldn't possibly happen, right?" Ayatsuki Ayaka shook her head.
Takahashi Saeko spoke earnestly, "Ayaka, nothing is impossible in this world. If that hairstylist had just been dumped or was deep in debt, feeling hopeless and wanting to take revenge on society, could you really guarantee he wouldn't slit your throat with his scissors when you went in for a haircut?"
GULP. Ayatsuki Ayaka touched her neck, feeling a chill. So, barbershops are really that dangerous?
Tama Chan chuckled. "Ayaka, you don't have to worry. She's just bluffing, deliberately trying to scare you."
Takahashi Saeko also smiled. "The chances of an ordinary person encountering sothing like that are very low. You don't need to learn to cut your own hair, but you should definitely learn how to wash soone else's hair. In a romantic relationship, washing your boyfriend's hair is a way to control him. While washing his hair, you can casually manipulate his head, and he'll have no choice but to obey. Tell him to lower his head, and he lowers it. Tell him to lift it, and he lifts it. After washing, you towel-dry and blow-dry his hair. Then, at the right mont, you press him gently against your warm chest. It's popularly known as 'facial cleanser'."
"Saeko, don't be so lewd!" Ayatsuki Ayaka exclaid. Though she was ntally taking notes, she scolded her friend for being too explicit.
Takahashi Saeko laughed. "What I said isn't as explicit as what you're thinking."
"I-I'm certainly not thinking of anything like that!" Ayatsuki Ayaka quickly waved her hands, denying it. That idea of stripping naked to wash Aozawa's hair? It absolutely, definitely doesn't exist in my mind!
Their disbelieving giggles made Ayatsuki Ayaka's cheeks grow even redder. She sneakily glanced toward Aozawa and then noticed a sharp gaze scrutinizing her.
Ayatsuki Ayaka was montarily startled, then glared back defiantly. What are you looking at?!
I'm no longer intimidated by Phoenix Academy Maggie. I'm far ahead of her in my progress with him! The only real rival, the one I have to defeat, is the Great Witch who holds sway over Aozawa—Morimoto Chiyoda.
