When Aoyama Xiu Xin arrived at the Police Headquarters, he saw Asai Ayumi waiting for him at the entrance. She was dressed in a gray suit, with her black hair draping over her shoulders, radiantly looking around.

He parked his car and walked over, "Why didn’t you go straight to report to Police Chief Hattori when you arrived first?"

"Hmph, what do you think?" Asai Ayumi followed him inside and said, "Police Chief Hattori has an extrely bad impression of you right now. If I didn’t wait for you and you went to report to him alone, he might refuse to personally take you to the office to embarrass you, or even worse, tell you to find the office by yourself. Then, on your first day of reporting, you’d have lost all your authority in front of your subordinates."

"You’re actually being that nice to ?" Aoyama Xiu Xin stopped and scrutinized her with a suspicious gaze.

Could this woman have fallen for him?

Although he had fallen for her as well.

"What are you looking at?" Asai Ayumi glared at him fiercely, avoiding his gaze, and with her neck stiff and head tilted back, she explained, "Everyone now knows you’re associated with . I’m just afraid of losing the Asakai family’s face!"

"Alright, whatever the reason, thanks for your kindness," Aoyama Xiu Xin said, his lips curling into a smile.

"Your smile is so lewd," Asai Ayumi scoffed sarcastically and quickened her pace, leaving Aoyama Xiu Xin behind.

However, after a few steps, she stopped and turned her head towards Aoyama Xiu Xin, "Hey, do a favor."

"I knew it, you wouldn’t be so nice to without a reason," Aoyama Xiu Xin shrugged.

"For all the things you’ve done to , it’s already lenient of not to have run you over with my car," Asai Ayumi stepped forward, leaned in close, and hissed through clenched teeth.

Then, she imdiately stepped back to maintain so distance.

"What is it?" Aoyama Xiu Xin asked.

"At the end of the month, Nipponjiro... that is, the younger son of Police Director General Renping, is coming back to the country. My family plans to arrange a match between him and . I don’t want to marry him," Asai Ayumi pursed her lips slowly and turned to look at Aoyama Xiu Xin, threatening, "Police Chief Aoyama, you wouldn’t want to have another man besides you, would you?"

"That’s not necessarily the case. To cuckold the son of the Police Director General sounds thrilling. When are you guys getting married?" Faced with Asai Ayumi’s threat, Aoyama Xiu Xin smiled nonchalantly, countering her directly.

"You..." Asai Ayumi was agitated, but seeing that the elevator had arrived, she had to hold back since there were more people around.

After getting out of the elevator and walking toward Hattori’s office, Asai Ayumi continued with the previous topic, "I was first yours. If I truly marry Nipponjiro, it will be him who is cuckolding you."

The rationale was clear and irrefutable.

"That’s even more thrilling, isn’t it? To experience being cuckolded and to cuckold others." Aoyama Xiu Xin’s thoughts were always so unusual from others’. Seeing that Asai Ayumi was about to explode, he quickly changed his tune, "I was just teasing you. I definitely don’t have a fetish for being cuckolded."

In his heart, Asai Ayumi was the perfect choice for a future wife; how could he possibly let soone else have her?

"Hmph! Then you’d better hurry up and think of a solution," Asai Ayumi said after shifting the problem to Aoyama Xiu Xin, feeling less anxious.

In the midst of their conversation, the two had arrived at their destination.

Aoyama Xiu Xin raised his hand and knocked on the door, "Police Chief Hattori, Asai Ayumi and Aoyama Xiu Xin reporting for duty."

"Co in." If it were just Aoyama Xiu Xin alone, Hattori really wanted to give him the cold shoulder, but with Asai Ayumi present, he couldn’t do that.

"Hello!"

Aoyama Xiu Xin pushed the door open and walked in with Asai Ayumi, both of them bowing in unison in front of the desk.

"Police Chief Hattori!"

"No need for formalities." Hattori’s face was filled with a warm smile, as he addressed Asai Ayumi, "Asai Police Chief’s reputation has been ringing in my ears lately—goddess markswoman, heroine. Your arrival surely doubles our strength here. I hope under your leadership in the homicide investigation division, new feats can be achieved!"

"Hello!" Asai Ayumi bowed obediently.

In the past, she would have been embarrassed and ashad of such praise, but now she had been pushed by Aoyama Xiu Xin into even more shaful acts.

So she acted very calm and composed.

Hattori appreciated her proud yet humble, cool and calm attitude, stood up, and said, "Co on, I’ll take you to the office of the homicide investigation division."

He completely ignored Aoyama Xiu Xin throughout.

Aoyama Xiu Xin showed no expression on his face.

His heart was also undisturbed.

If his direct supervisor didn’t like him, so be it; after all, he didn’t rely on Hattori for promotions or wealth.

But then again, was he really clashing with the position of the head of the investigation division?

The Police Headquarters was huge, and each division had its separate office area. Since it was early in work hours, everyone was present when Hattori brought Asai Ayumi and Aoyama Xiu Xin.

It was actually just a dozen or so people.

"Police Chief!"

Everyone stood and saluted in turn.

"Everyone, I believe you are all familiar with Asai Police Chief by my side. From now on, she will be your superior. Asai Police Chief has nurous accomplishnts and is a renowned goddess detective. I hope that under her leadership, you can achieve even greater successes," Hattori praised Asai Ayumi highly, as she was indeed a princess of the police circles.

"Hello!" Everyone responded in unison, again bowing all together to Asai Ayumi and shouting, "Asai Police Chief!"

"Police Chief Hattori has complinted you too much," Asai Ayumi humbly bowed in return, pointing to Aoyama Xiu Xin and said, "Most of those cases were cracked thanks to the assistance of Police Chief Aoyama; otherwise, I couldn’t have done it alone."

"Oh, I almost forgot about Police Chief Aoyama," Hattori suddenly recalled Aoyama Xiu Xin with a cold tone, "He’s also an excellent officer. He’ll be the next Deputy Chief of the Homicide Division, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get to know him. I won’t introduce him further."

With that, he looked at Asai Ayumi with a pleasant smile and said, "Let take you to your office."

"Hi!" Asai Ayumi bowed deeply, glanced at Aoyama Xiu Xin, then followed Hattori as they turned and walked away.

Aoyama Xiu Xin gave a slight smile to everyone around and kindly asked, "May I ask where my position is?"

No one answered; it was silent.

So were disdainful, so were mocking, so indifferent, so helpless, but no one paid him any attention.

Aoyama Xiu Xin observed everyone’s reactions and his gaze settled on a man in his thirties with a middle-parted hairstyle standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.

Then he walked over.

Instantly, the facial expressions of everyone around changed.

"Thud thud!" Aoyama Xiu Xin walked up to Jin Cheng Heiji and knocked on the table, "Move your stuff imdiately. I’ll be using this spot from now on."

Jin Cheng Heiji was taken aback, not expecting Aoyama Xiu Xin, a young man in his twenties, to be so bold. Then he smiled casually and said slowly, "Deputy Chief Aoyama, on what grounds? Even if you are my superior..."

"Idiot!" Aoyama Xiu Xin angrily interrupted him, pointed at his nose, and sharply reprimanded, "You know I’m your superior? And you dare to question my order? Would you also disobey orders when catching criminals? Can you handle it? If not, get out! I can file the paperwork for you!"

Jin Cheng Heiji’s face instantly turned shades of red and white from embarrassnt and anger, his fists clenched as he glared furiously at Aoyama Xiu Xin.

He had assud that the young Aoyama Xiu Xin, having just arrived, would act nicely to win people over and would back down when faced with a challenge.

However, he was completely domineering.

Not only was he surprised, but other bystanders were also taken aback and instinctively straightened up slightly, their various expressions quickly hidden.

"Slap!"

Aoyama Xiu Xin grabbed a folder and smashed it onto his face, shouting, "Do you not understand ? Or are you used to defying orders? Move your stuff! Now! Right now! Imdiately! OK?"

Jin Cheng Heiji’s face twitched, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at Aoyama Xiu Xin, but eventually, he bent down and grimaced, squeezing out, "Hi!"

Then he emotionlessly began to pack his things.

Given such escalated reactions, he dared not openly defy an order, knowing how strictly hierarchical the workplace was.

Takizawa Mapu, feeling sympathetic, wanted to help him—to speed up the packing and spare his friend the embarrassnt of being watched by many.

"Did I ask for your help?" Aoyama Xiu Xin coldly glanced at him, his voice stern, "Since you’re so fond of moving, why don’t you move your stuff too? Take it straight outside to the office."

Takizawa Mapu’s hand, which had been extended, stiffened mid-air, then withdrew as he bowed to Aoyama Xiu Xin and returned to his own station.

Thus, everyone stood at their posts watching Jin Cheng Heiji move his things; the office was so quiet that only his movents could be heard.

At that mont, the feeling of humiliation inside Jin Cheng Heiji peaked, as did his resentnt towards Aoyama Xiu Xin, pushing him to the brink of collapse.

Once the desk space was cleared, Aoyama Xiu Xin sat down in the chair that had belonged to Jin Cheng Heiji, his gaze slowly sweeping over everyone as he nonchalantly commanded, "Let’s go around and introduce ourselves."

If he had caved in today in order to gain favor against the challenges, others might find him agreeable, but they would also look down on him.

From now on, forget about establishing authority in the departnt.

He would rather have these people fear or even resent him as long as they would not dare to disobey him.

"Hi! Deputy Chief, my na is Yoshikai Youzai."

"My na is..."

"My na is Takizawa Mapu."

It was finally Jin Cheng Heiji’s turn; his lips quivered as he spat out a few words, "My na is Jin Cheng Heiji."

"Very well, I hope we can all get along happily," Aoyama Xiu Xin nodded, then clapped his hands and said, "Alright, everyone back to work."

"Hi!" Everyone bowed in unison.

"Ring ring~ Ring ring~"

Suddenly, a telephone rang.

Yoshikai Youzai quickly grabbed it to answer; monts later, he said to Aoyama Xiu Xin, "Deputy Chief, a murder has occurred in an apartnt at Iwamoto Town Third District. Nearby officers are already headed there for an initial investigation."

"Bring two people with ," Aoyama Xiu Xin, having just joined with no cases on hand, finished speaking and stood up with his mobile phone, ready to head out.

"Ring ring~ Ring ring~"

He had barely taken two steps when his phone rang.

"Moshi moshi, this is Aoyama Xiu Xin."

"Mr. Aoyama, it’s your turn to help this ti," Du Bian Xiuze’s anxious voice ca through.
