"Chief, why didn’t you say anything when you ca in?"
Kikumura Hazuma had just walked into the office when he saw Aoyama Xiu Xin smiling brightly and patting a subordinate on the shoulder, talking about sothing. He hastened forward and interrupted the man.
"Mr. Kikumura, how many tis have I told you that you don’t need to co see every ti? I just ca by casually; to trouble you would be embarrassing for ," Aoyama Xiu Xin said, hearing the voice, withdrawing his hand, turning around, and looking helplessly at Kikumura Hazuma.
But he was well aware of what the guy was thinking.
As long as I do not die, you will always remain the Crown Prince!
Damn, as if you’re embarrassed to co here! But you fucking co every day! Kikumura Hazuma cursed in his heart while maintaining a smile on his face, speaking politely, "Not at all, not at all. Police Chief Aoyama, with dual responsibilities and a plethora of matters to attend to, still visits the Internet Security Departnt daily despite the busy schedule of the First Division of Criminal Investigation. If you consider that no trouble at all, then I am certainly no bother!"
The words carried a hint of sarcasm.
Since he knew Aoyama Xiu Xin was aware of his feelings, there was no need to pretend to be pure and innocent. Occasionally showing his prowess and aggression could actually boost the confidence of his subordinates.
Pretending to be a pig to eat a tiger is not wrong, but if you overact, you can easily be seen as a real pig in the eyes of others.
"I might have felt a bit sorry about troubling Mr. Kikumura like this every ti, but since you’ve said so, I’ll have to co daily from now on," Aoyama Xiu Xin laughed.
Although Kikumura Hazuma knew that the other party was just stirring him up with nonsense, he couldn’t help but feel annoyed, his smile straining as he said, "Police Chief Aoyama is the head of the Internet Security Departnt, so it’s only right for you to co every day. After all, we can’t afford to be biased; our Internet Security Departnt would be jealous of the First Division of Criminal Investigation if it seed like we were neglected, like we were raised by a stepmother."
You’ve got plenty of energy, huh? Think you can manage two departnts being so busy, huh? Then dare to treat both departnts equally, showing the sa attention to the Internet Security Departnt as to the First Division, and avoid unequal treatnt.
If it cos to that, I’ll just dump all the work on you and see if you can still keep up.
"Mr. Kikumura is pointing sothing out to here," Aoyama Xiu Xin shook his head, looked around, thought for a mont, and clapped his hands, "Alright, since that’s the case, I’ll try to allocate more energy to the Internet Security Departnt from now on. After all, I was the one who proposed the creation of the departnt. It’s essential to achieve results and show the higher-ups the effect, so everyone has a direction to work towards."
The deputy head of the First Division was his fiancée, so what if he delegated all that work to Asai Ayumi and devoted himself entirely to the Internet Security Departnt? What’s wrong with that?
Seeing Aoyama Xiu Xin agree so readily, Kikumura Hazuma was first stunned but quickly thought of the key issue—Aoyama Xiu Xin didn’t dare to completely let go of the Internet Security Departnt, but he was willing to let go of the First Division.
After all, the deputy head of the First Division was his fiancée.
Damn it, this nepotism!
There ought to be a law against this kind of behavior!
Kikumura Hazuma was inwardly cursing, but he hurriedly tried to backpedal, "It was a joke, just a joke. Police Chief Aoyama, please do not take it seriously. The work of the First Division is pivotal to Tokyo’s public safety. If you really diverted all your efforts to the Internet Security Departnt because of what I said, the citizens would curse and jab in the spine."
By saying that, he had shot himself in the foot. He regretted it profoundly, mainly because he had projected his own subjective ideas, as he was also a deputy director but forgot about the close relationship between the deputy head of the First Division and Aoyama Xiu Xin.
"Mr. Kikumura is completely mistaken in his statent. Doing a good job with the Internet Security Departnt also contributes to Tokyo’s public security," Aoyama Xiu Xin laughed heartily, disallowing any retort, patted him on the shoulder, and turned to address everyone, "It’s decided then, from tomorrow on, I will move to the head office of the Internet Security Departnt."
Seizing the opportunity to consolidate the Internet Security Departnt into a unified force was certainly better than always being distracted between two places and constantly guarding against Kikumura Hazuma usurping his power.
"Yes!" The people stood up and bowed in response.
Apart from a few confidants brought in and placed by Kikumura Hazuma, most were pleased with the matter.
After all, many people didn’t have a good understanding of their Internet Security Departnt, always assuming that they, who worked in offices, were of little use, with relaxed jobs yet higher pay than the frontline staff. They had not been spared weird comnts in the shadows.
Now, with Aoyama Xiu Xin moving to work in the Internet Security Departnt, it would fully reflect the importance placed on it, and other departnts would have to reassess their weight, no longer able to be sarcastic behind their backs.
Kikumura Hazuma nearly ground his molars to dust,
Once Aoyama Xiu Xin formally moved to the Internet Security Departnt to work, what business would he have left? He estimated that once the latter had established firm footing, he’d be the first to be kicked out.
"Alright, everyone, please continue with your work."
Aoyama Xiu Xin raised his hand to signal everyone to sit and gave Kikumura Hazuma a slight nod as a gesture of acknowledgnt before turning to leave towards Asakura Yurong’s office.
Watching Aoyama Xiu Xin walk towards Asakura Yurong’s office, Kikumura Hazuma’s fists bulged with veins.
This is unbearable! Simply outrageous!
He then snorted coldly and turned to leave.
A few of his confidants exchanged glances and followed suit.
As soon as he entered his office, he seed to be venting uncontrollably, slapping his face repeatedly.
Damn it! It’s all because of my stupid mouth just now!
"Smack, smack, smack, smack!"
"Police Chief Kikumura, please don’t do this, stop it, Police Chief Kikumura." A few of his confidants were shocked by the sudden outburst and, after a brief mont of paralysis, quickly intervened to stop him.
"Let go." Kikumura Hazuma had cald down by then, struggling to shake off their hands as he propped himself on the edge of his desk, panting heavily and saying bitterly, "I was careless with my words just now."
The core reason for the slip of the tongue was because Aoyama Xiu Xin hadn’t acted like this before, leading him to overlook Asai Ayumi, Aoyama Xiu Xin’s capable wife, altogether.
But it wasn’t that Aoyama Xiu Xin hadn’t wanted to act this way before, it was because he was busy. Ever since the establishnt of the Internet Security Departnt, he had been swamped with the issues of Nozawa Financial Corporation, not getting a chance to catch his breath until now.
"I can’t keep thinking about extravagant plots anymore."
Kikumura Hazuma took a deep breath and said.
The four confidants exchanged worried and uncertain looks, with the chief of the third division of the Internet Security Departnt asking, "What do you plan to do, Police Chief?"
The other three also stared at Kikumura Hazuma.
"Let think, let think, let..."
Kikumura Hazuma closed his eyes, rubbing his temples lightly with his hand while continuously muttering to himself.
The others didn’t dare breathe too loudly, fearing they might accidentally disrupt his train of thought.
...........
Another side, in Asakura Yurong’s office.
She actually had learned about Aoyama Xiu Xin’s arrival at the Internet Security Departnt but deliberately avoided eting him.
However, when the door was pushed open and she saw Aoyama Xiu Xin walk in, she stiffened on the spot.
"Police Chief Asakura not coming out to greet , could it be that you don’t regard at all?" Aoyama Xiu Xin closed the door behind him, straight-faced, and feigned displeasure as he spoke.
Asakura Yurong was already timid, and his words startled her. She hurriedly stood up, her ample bosom bouncing along, "Police Chief, it’s not like that..."
"What is it like, then?" Aoyama Xiu Xin interrupted her.
"It’s... it’s..." Asakura Yurong stamred, unable to speak, her head lowered further and further, her cheeks becoming redder, her small hands gripping and twisting the hem of her pants.
How could she say it?
Could she admit she was ashad, embarrassed to face him?
She was too embarrassed to say it, but Aoyama Xiu Xin had no such qualms, he moved behind her, leaned in close to her ear, and teased, "Is it because you were slacking off in the office and I overheard you last ti? Or is it because you felt too ashad to see after I pinched your butt in the elevator yesterday morning?"
Asakura Yurong’s vision darkened, she had not expected Aoyama Xiu Xin to be so blunt, making it impossible for her to feign ignorance. Her cheeks reddened as if they could drip blood, her teeth lightly trembled, she opened her mouth, but was left speechless.
"Police Chief Asakura isn’t as honest as she appears on the surface, huh? Yesterday in the elevator, you even subconsciously rubbed against ," Aoyama Xiu Xin continued.
Overco with sha and indignation, Asakura Yurong raised both hands to cover her face, "Stop it, please don’t say any more."
There are things that are one matter when committed.
But being spoken about is quite another matter.
"Police Chief, you wouldn’t want this side of you to be known by others, would you?" Aoyama Xiu Xin smiled wickedly.
"No! Don’t tell anyone!" Asakura Yurong panickily lost her composure, gripping Aoyama Xiu Xin’s arm with a pleading look, she said in a pitiful tone, "Please, Police Chief, don’t tell anyone, otherwise I... I won’t be able to show my face."
In everyone’s eyes, she was always a straightforward, naive dolt. How would they see her if they knew she logged into QQ Space at the office?
She might as well jump from the building.
"Will you be obedient, then?" Aoyama Xiu Xin raised his hand, touching her delicate cheek, and asked with a smile.
Asakura Yurong nodded repeatedly, "I will be."
"Kneel down," Aoyama Xiu Xin ordered.
Asakura Yurong glared at him, sowhat annoyed.
Aoyama Xiu Xin t her gaze unflinchingly.
Slowly lowering her head, Asakura Yurong bit her red lips and slowly knelt down, her head deeply bowed.
"You haven’t done it before, but you’ve seen it done, you don’t need to teach you what’s next," Aoyama Xiu Xin said indifferently.
Half an hour later, Aoyama Xiu Xin walked out of the office feeling refreshed.
Suddenly, Asakura Yurong realized sothing: Aoyama Xiu Xin didn’t seem to have any evidence of what he claid...
So... had she just been deceived?
After it dawned on her, Asakura Yurong felt humiliated, angry, and wronged, biting her red lip, her delicate body trembling.
Police Chief Aoyama... how could he do this!
Though she was furious, she felt helpless.
After all, she couldn’t possibly report Aoyama Xiu Xin—not only would she have to provide proof herself, but she didn’t have the courage even to raise her voice at soone else.
Moreover, deep down, she wasn’t too repulsed, considering the two intimate encounters before and that Aoyama Xiu Xin was the only one who knew her little secret.
"This woman really is an idiot."
Aoyama Xiu Xin was reflecting on the other side as well.
He thought to nurture her properly, so she could beco a reliable aide, to develop an honest woman, restless inside but never daring to take action, into a competent female officer. There was a certain appeal to that.
Wasn’t this, in its own way, a type of nurturing ga?
"So foolish, lucky for her to have t , or she’d be cheated by others and still be helping them count the money."
...........
Night fell, and the lights ca on.
Streets were bustling with people coming and going in haste.
Takeshita Jun, male, 26 years old, a newcor who joined the Tokyo District Prosecution Office’s Criminal Departnt at the beginning of the year, had just beco a full-fledged employee. His colleagues had noticed him being more lively than usual and a lot busier—whenever asked what he was busy with, he always responded with a smile and remained silent.
That’s because Takeshita Jun was a mber of Nakamura Tatsuyuki’s secret investigation team, which of course he couldn’t disclose.
Ever since being selected by Nakamura Tatsuyuki, Takeshita Jun had been in a state of excitent, feeling that he was now doing what he had originally intended to when he joined the Prosecution Office as a prosecutor.
After work, he was the last one to leave, taking bottled water and bread, he drove straight to Nozawa Financial Corporation. His mission was to surveil Yehua Yiren.
He noted down her daily whereabouts, whom she t, and reported to Nakamura Tatsuyuki.
This surveillance had been ongoing for a while.
By now, he was getting more and more adept at it.
