"Ding-a-ling! Ding-a-ling!"
A series of urgent telephone rings suddenly rang out.
Aoyama Xiu Xin rose to his feet, picked up the mobile phone from the coffee table, and answered, "This is Aoyama Xiu Xin, speak."
"Commissioner, Yamamoto Hiko has confessed to so very important matters, and I would like to report them to you in person," Yoshikai Youzai said respectfully and seriously.
Aoyama Xiu Xin knew that if it wasn’t truly important, Yoshikai wouldn’t bother him, "I’ll be right there."
After he hung up the phone, he told Hashimoto Miho he had urgent business, and without looking back, he hastily left.
Hashimoto Miho sighed regretfully; she had thought she would be thoroughly satisfied tonight, big-bellied with contentnt.
Instead, hunger gnawed at her, not a drop of water consud.
Yet the lack of fulfillnt this ti only made her more anxious, looking forward to her next encounter with Aoyama Xiu Xin.
When Aoyama Xiu Xin returned to Police Headquarters, Yoshikai Youzai was already waiting for him at the office door with a folder in hand, and quickly went up to him, calling out, "Commissioner."
"Mm," Aoyama Xiu Xin pushed the office door open.
Yoshikai Youzai followed him in, waiting for Aoyama Xiu Xin to take his seat before handing over the folder, "This is the full confession of Zhongshan Yan; please take a look."
"It’s so thick?" Aoyama Xiu Xin blurted out involuntarily as he opened the folder.
Yoshikai Youzai bowed his head slightly, "Yes!"
The first half of the confession was Yamamoto’s admission of his own cris. Aoyama Xiu Xin’s expression remained calm. When he saw the latter half concerning the "Tokyo University female student massacre," he gradually beca serious and straightened his posture.
According to Yamamoto Hiko, the massacre of the Tokyo University female student two years ago was committed by the chairman of the Xiongcheng Association, Dubian i Bu, who had confessed while drunk.
At the ti, Dubian i Bu was in his sophomore year, not only the vice president of the student council but also the president of the music club, where he t the freshman Asakawa Reiko during club recruitnt and pursued her. A month later they beca a couple.
However, Asakawa Reiko realized during their relationship that despite Dubian i Bu’s apparently warm, cheerful, and humble deanor, he was actually very domineering and intolerant of contradiction, causing her to want to break up.
But Dubian i Bu was unwilling, feeling that being dumped by a woman was too shaful, so he continued to appear in her life as her boyfriend as usual.
Midway through the sester, Asakawa Reiko could no longer tolerate it, exploding in the cafeteria, making a scene, proclaiming she had dumped Dubian i Bu, and warning him not to harass or pester her anymore, or she would call the police.
Being treated like this in front of everyone, Dubian i Bu felt utterly disgraced, and with a loss of face, he resigned from all his duties in the student council and club.
He prepared tools including a hamr, knives, flour, and spray, and, pretending to be a plumber at the end of that sester, he knocked on Asakawa’s door.
At that ti, only Asakawa Reiko’s parents and her five-year-old brother were ho. He first lured Asakawa’s mother into the bathroom and bludgeoned her to death with the hamr, then when Asakawa’s father ca to check, he stabbed him to death with a knife, and finally beat Asakawa Reiko’s just five-year-old brother to death.
After the killings, he spread flour to solidify the blood and cleaned it up, then moved all the bodies to the bedroom, covered them with blankets, sat on the sofa, opened two bottles of alcohol, and quietly waited for Asakawa Reiko to co ho.
When Asakawa Reiko arrived ho, he first controlled her with a knife, dragged her to the bedroom where the bodies were, and then violently assaulted her on top of her parents’ corpses.
Afterward, Asakawa Reiko took advantage of Dubian i Bu’s distraction just after he had finished venting to jump out of the bedroom window.
Dubian i Bu panicked at that mont, knowing the neighbors would be alerted, so he called his father, a mber of the House of Representatives, for help before the police arrived.
The seven responding officers, all managed by his father’s abuse of power, not only helped Dubian clean up so of the remaining evidence but also gave him a set of police uniform prepared in advance to change into, allowing him to successfully escape the scene by blending in with their withdrawal.
So that’s why the police found no footprints, fingerprints, or suspect’s appearance at the scene; there was no paranormal incident, instead, it was a cover-up of a cri through collusion of power.
"It’s truly appalling," Aoyama Xiu Xin thought Dubian i Bu was a real beast, even for a beast like himself.
After killing her parents and brother, smashing their faces beyond recognition, he still forced her on top of their corpses for assault; what kind of person could do such a thing?
Yoshikai Youzai said, "Dubian i Bu already had psychological issues; otherwise, he wouldn’t have endured silently for half a sester and suddenly lashed out at the end."
When everyone, even Asakawa Reiko herself, thought the matter was over, no one imagined that Dubian i Bu had been plotting the massacre all along.
"Have you identified the seven police officers who responded at the ti?" Aoyama Xiu Xin asked, looking at Yoshikai Youzai.
Yoshikai Youzai shook his head, "Not yet."
"Give their details tomorrow, and be sure not to alert them," Aoyama Xiu Xin instructed.
Yoshikai Yoshitsune bowed and responded, "Yes!"
"Zhongshan Yan says that i Bu’s father is a mber of the House of Representatives?" Aoyama Xiu Xin tapped the desk.
Yoshikai Yoshitsune nodded, "Indeed, he was re-elected this term and he’s also the head of the Public Security Investigation Bureau."
"The Public Security Investigation Bureau?" Aoyama Xiu Xin raised his eyebrows, he has been investigated by the Public Security Investigation Bureau Second Section not long ago, which by any approximation, ant they already had an interaction.
The Public Security Investigation Bureau and the Prosecution Bureau are external agencies of the Ministry of Justice; the head of the Public Security Bureau and the head of the Prosecution Bureau are of equal rank, so buying off seven policen is too easy.
Aoyama Xiu Xin pondered, now that the head of the Public Security Investigation Bureau was involved, should he continue the investigation?
After thinking it over, he said, "You start a secret investigation first, report only to , and do not divulge anything publicly."
If the investigation went well, he would reap the credit for it, but if it did not, then so be it.
...
anwhile, at the Dubians.
"Director, didn’t we agree not to investigate Aoyama Xiu Xin?" Haruno Junji, the chief of the Public Security Investigation Bureau Second Section, looked at Dubian Youli with a face full of surprise and confusion.
Sitting on the sofa, the nearly fifty-year-old Dubian Youli, with his legs crossed and in a calm tone, said, "That was then, this is now; if I tell you to investigate, you investigate, but do it secretly. Find any evidence of his cris, and report only to ."
"Yes!" Haruno Junji was full of vigor, as he had been frustrated by the previous halt in the investigation into Aoyama Xiu Xin and was now eager to vent.
Dubian Youli glanced at him and said in a heavy tone, "Junji, Aoyama Xiu Xin has the shadow of Aricans behind him. We’re investigating him for national security. You must put in your utmost effort, yet be extrely cautious to ensure not to alarm him."
"Rest assured, Your Excellency, I will definitely handle this matter well and bring Aoyama Xiu Xin, this Arican lackey, to justice!" Haruno Junji imdiately felt entrusted with a crucial national defense mission and promised resolutely.
Dubian Youli stood up, his face showing relief and encouragent as he patted Haruno Junji on the shoulder, "If you handle this well, you will be a national hero, and the nation never fails to reward its heroes."
"Yes!" Haruno Junji was instantly thrilled.
"Go forth, Mr. Haruno, for the Heavenly Locust!"
"Yes! For the Heavenly Locust!"
Haruno Junji bowed and turned to leave.
"Clang!"
The sound of the door slamming shut was heard as a figure erged from the kitchen—it was Takai Baoyu, the owner of Takeda Fuji.
"Did you hear all that?" Dubian Youli said.
"Yes!" Takai Baoyu quickly walked up to Dubian Youli and bowed, "Thank you for your assistance, Your Excellency."
He was set on getting the automated loan machine.
It was critical to the survival of his business empire.
Thus, he had enlisted Dubian Youli to use the Public Security Investigation Bureau’s power to dig into Aoyama Xiu Xin’s past.
Once he got hold of Aoyama Xiu Xin’s weakness, he could obtain the patent rights to the automated loan machine without spending two hundred million US dollars, no, the transfer rights.
"The Aricans are fond of him, and in helping you, I’m opposing the CIA," said Dubian Youli.
Takai Baoyu smiled slightly, "Everyone has their price, and how could Aoyama Xiu Xin’s value in the eyes of the Aricans ever surpass yours? Of course, Your Excellency is indeed taking on the risk of displeasing the Aricans to help , so naturally, I will offer double the sincerity to compensate for any discontent you face with them."
He had cooperated with Dubian Youli for a long ti, so he knew exactly what kind of person he was dealing with.
As long as money was involved, nothing was too daring for him.
"The money will be sent to the sa account as before. If there’s nothing else, please feel free to leave," Dubian Youli gestured dismissively.
The things he said to Haruno Junji about national interest were all lies—it was all just business.
Takai Baoyu bowed and then turned to leave.
Aoyama Xiu Xin, you don’t appreciate what’s given to you, refuse the toast only to drink a forfeit—this is all a predicant of your own making!
