Hannah Hayes’s competitive spirit was instantly ignited.

A pair of diamond earrings with an opening bid of 200,000 had already reached 3 million, and Hannah Hayes gritted her teeth and raised her paddle.

"Bid number 66 offers 3.2 million!"

Vera Yves tried to hold down her hand but missed.

Cecilia Vaughn raised her paddle unhurriedly.

The two of them refused to back down, going back and forth as if money was just numbers.

When the price reached 6 million, Hannah Hayes still wanted to raise her paddle, but Vera Yves held her hand, "Mom, soone wants to be the fool, just let her."

Hannah Hayes looked at her in frustration, "Is it a question of being a fool or not? You’re Mrs. Valentine, stand tall and crush her with money!"

They were about to divorce; how could she bear to waste money competing with Cecilia Vaughn?

Cecilia Vaughn glanced at Vera Yves smugly.

Vera Yves didn’t even look at her.

Just when Cecilia Vaughn thought victory was in her grasp, soone raised a paddle.

"Bid number 99 offers 10 million!"

Miles Monroe sat calmly in his chair, waiting for Cecilia Vaughn’s gaze. He smiled politely, signaling her to continue.

Cecilia Vaughn gritted her teeth, still wanting to raise her paddle.

Samantha Warren held her hand, "How much money do you have to compete with the future head of the Monroe Family?"

Finally, the earrings were sold for 10 million.

Hannah Hayes breathed a sigh of relief, "Thankfully, they didn’t land in Cecilia Vaughn’s hands; otherwise, where would our faces be?"

Afterwards, Hannah Hayes bid on a few items, and Cecilia Vaughn didn’t stir up trouble again.

The auction ended.

Miles Monroe presented the earrings to Vera Yves, "For you."

Vera Yves wasn’t interested in the earrings, "They’re too expensive, I can’t accept them."

"Consider it the paynt for helping treat my grandfather," Miles Monroe smiled at her, "If you don’t accept, I’ll have to find another way to give you sothing."

Vera Yves had to graciously accept the earrings.

Miles Monroe avoided her hand, "Don’t move, there’s sothing in your hair."

Speaking, he leaned closer, Vera Yves was montarily stunned, and Miles Monroe naturally removed the existing earrings from her ear.

His fingertips were warm.

"I rember the crayons you drew with as a child; the princess always wore dazzling earrings like this," he placed one earring nicely, smiling gently, "It’s indeed very pretty."

Not far away, Winston Valentine walked into the venue, sweeping his gaze casually.

He saw Miles Monroe’s hand brush past her ear, that was her most sensitive spot, every ti he kissed there, it stirred her emotions the most.

"Winston."

Cecilia Vaughn looked at him in surprise, "Didn’t you say you weren’t coming?"

Vera Yves heard Cecilia Vaughn’s voice, instinctively looked over, and saw Cecilia Vaughn happily throwing herself into Winston Valentine’s arms, which he received with full embrace.

Vera Yves quickly retracted her gaze, grabbed the other earring, "I’ll do it myself."

Winston Valentine snapped back, pushing Cecilia Vaughn away, "Passing through, just dropping by."

"There’s a banquet later, would you attend with , please?"

Hannah Hayes watched the two standing together, finding it unbearable; she pulled Vera Yves, "Vera, Winston is here, quickly go greet him."

Vera Yves refused to move.

Hannah Hayes pulled her arm, "Regardless of any issues between you and him, with so many eyes watching, this is definitely not the ti for a tantrum!"

Cecilia Vaughn stood by Winston Valentine’s side, deliberately staying close, with a declaration of possession facing Vera Yves, her almond eyes full of taunts toward Vera Yves.

Vera Yves replaced the other earring, lifted her dress, and walked toward the two.

Vera Yves was tall, with fair skin, a natural beauty, and those diamond earrings added charm. After just a few steps, she attracted many gazes.

Vera Yves naturally took Winston Valentine’s arm, speaking tenderly, "Honey, why did you co so late?"

Winston Valentine was slightly dazed by her calling him "honey," she seldom did.

"Vera Yves, you..."

Vera Yves looked at Cecilia Vaughn with a smile, "Cecilia, with so many eyes here, shouldn’t you call ’Third Sister-in-law,’ don’t you think?"

Vera Yves deliberately emphasized the word "sister," leaving Cecilia Vaughn infuriated.

Winston Valentine attempted to push her arm away, Vera Yves smiled at him, tiptoeing to whisper in his ear, "Winston Valentine, if you can’t wait a month, I don’t mind having it out with you now."

Hannah Hayes watched the two act affectionately, she walked over smiling, "Winston, co with Vera to the banquet later."

Winston Valentine nodded.

Beside them, Cecilia Vaughn was already seething with anger.

The banquet was held in the VIP hall upstairs, attended by society’s elite.

Vera Yves accompanied Winston Valentine, greeting acquaintances with a smile, as always elegant and poised.

Miles Monroe watched the "reconciled" couple, sipping wine.

In this circle, there were too many couples rely going through the motions, one more or one less made no difference, but Vera shouldn’t have been one of them.

She deserved a husband who loved her deeply, a happy and fulfilling marriage; she deserved the best life had to offer.

"What, going to use to irritate Miles Monroe?"

Vera Yves chuckled, "My moral compass is higher than yours; I don’t enjoy marital affairs."

The dance music started, and everyone headed to the dance floor.

Vera Yves looked at Winston Valentine, "Co on, let’s dance."

Without waiting for him to refuse, Vera Yves already dragged him into the dance floor.

Seeing Cecilia Vaughn’s resentful look, Vera Yves forced herself to suppress her disgust, leaning into Winston Valentine’s embrace.

Winston Valentine’s body stiffened a bit.

"Turns out jealousy really makes one ugly," Vera Yves looked at Cecilia Vaughn, sneering scathingly, then wrapped her arms around Winston Valentine’s neck. Under everyone’s gaze, she tiptoed, kissing Winston Valentine’s lips.

Winston Valentine wanted to dodge, but Vera Yves was prepared, holding his face, and although their lips touched just her fingertips, to the audience, they appeared deeply engrossed.

Their breaths mingled, Winston Valentine felt a fleeting confusion, everything seed to disappear, only her sweet scent remained, like an addictive poison.

Night after night haunting his dreams.

Vera Yves released Winston Valentine, about to pull away, but a hand gripped her waist.

Winston Valentine leaned in, Vera Yves instinctively turned away, their lips barely touched before separating.

Right as the music ended.

Vera Yves pushed him away, looking at him, she fiercely wiped her lips before exiting the dance floor.

Winston Valentine awoke from his daze, touched his lips, still warm from the earlier contact, he found it slightly scorching.

Cecilia Vaughn gripped her wine glass tightly, a flash of malice in her eyes, Vera Yves, you asked for it!

The hall was duplex, with the dance floor downstairs, Vera Yves departed the dance floor wanting to get so air upstairs, when Cecilia Vaughn followed, blocking her path on the stairs, "Vera Yves, what’s your ga? Why are you seducing Winston?"

"Cecilia Vaughn, do you even hear yourself?"

"You’re about to divorce!"

"But we haven’t yet, have we?" Vera Yves said indifferently, "Right now, the only woman who can publicly stand by his side is , no matter how smug you smile, you’re just a mistress who can’t see the light."

"Vera Yves!" Cecilia Vaughn raised her hand.

Vera Yves grabbed her wrist, "Winston Valentine is nothing special, I don’t want him; he’s yours now!"

Vera Yves released her hand, Cecilia Vaughn’s eyes darkened, taking advantage of the montum to fall backward.

"Ah!"

Amidst the startled exclamations, Vera Yves watched Cecilia Vaughn roll down the stairs. She instinctively wanted to catch her but was a step too late, only able to watch helplessly as she fell.
