Vera Yves blocked Linda Young’s cara, "Don’t shoot, that’s his cousin."

Winston Valentine supported Cecilia Vaughn as they walked towards the door. Cecilia’s murmuring voice floated over, "I don’t want a blind date, I just want you, for one year, two years, no matter how many, I can wait for you..."

"You’re drunk."

The lights in the bar were dim, but the hand supporting her waist was glaringly obvious.

After the two left, Linda Young slamd the table angrily, "What kind of cousin is Cecilia Vaughn? She’s still waiting, waiting for what? Waiting for you to get divorced?"

Vera Yves blinked her sore eyes and drank the liquor in her glass in one gulp.

After drinking, Vera Yves called for a driving service, first sending Linda Young ho before returning to the villa.

When she returned to her room and turned on the light, she was startled to see a man sitting on the chair, "Why didn’t you turn on the light?"

Winston Valentine laughed coldly and asked, "Is following people fun?"

Vera Yves looked at him incredulously, "Winston Valentine, I’m not that bored, I just happened to be at the sa bar with you."

"Do you think I would believe that?"

Vera Yves was annoyed, taking off her coat, "I don’t care if you believe it or not!"

She took her pajamas, opened the bathroom door, and was about to close it when it was blocked. Looking at the man’s deep eyes, Vera Yves forcefully tried to close it again, but the door didn’t budge.

"Get out, I want to take a shower!"

Suddenly, her chin was gripped, forcing Vera Yves to tilt her head up.

"Who allowed you to speak to in that tone?"

Vera Yves thought of Cecilia Vaughn in his arms, feeling a pain in her chest, "Maybe President Valentine could teach how a wife should speak to her husband?"

Seeing her indifferent expression, Winston Valentine resisted the urge to throttle her and pushed her into the bathroom, "Sure, I’ll teach you!"

"What do you want to do?" Vera Yves watched him undo his shirt, quickly retreating.

Winston Valentine stepped forward until Vera Yves could retreat no further, then pulled her into his embrace, "Didn’t you want to teach you? Why are you avoiding?"

"Get out!"

"First, at a ti like this, you should be holding , not pushing away."

...

The next morning, Vera Yves saw the hickeys on her body, cursing Winston Valentine’s ancestors in her heart; he chewed on her like a dog just for retorting a few words, how was she supposed to face people now?

Hannah Hayes called her, asking her and Winston Valentine to co to the Yves Family for lunch.

Vera Yves understood Hannah Hayes’s intention, only wanting to re-confirm the project matters.

Vera Yves agreed, and took out a scarf from the wardrobe, returning to the Yves Family alone for lunch.

Hannah Hayes’s smile froze when she saw her return alone, "Where’s Winston?"

"He has a social engagent." Vera Yves calmly lied.

Hannah Hayes tapped her head reproachfully, "Can’t you act a little spoiled to charm him?"

"No." Vera Yves entered and took off her coat.

Hannah Hayes followed her, "Do you understand? n need to be cajoled, especially n like Winston."

Vera Yves didn’t respond, Hannah Hayes wanted to say sothing more but noticed the hickeys on her neck and imdiately smiled, calling Harry Yves to eat.

The three sat at the dining table.

Hannah Hayes kept putting food on Vera Yves’s plate, "Your dad made all the dishes you like, eat more."

Vera Yves kept her head down, eating.

"Vera, you still need to talk to Winston about the project. You know how dedicated Mark Yves is, especially..."

"Mom." Vera Yves interrupted Hannah Hayes when she ntioned her brother Mark Yves, "He may be dedicated, but the Yves Family needs the capability too."

"Why doesn’t the Yves Family have the capability?" Hannah Hayes’s face also sank.

"No one can guarantee that the Yves Family will win the bid for this project." Vera Yves put down her chopsticks and stood up, "I advise you not to have too much hope. I’ve eaten enough, I’m leaving now."

After Vera Yves left, Hannah Hayes’s eyes imdiately reddened, "Are we putting too much pressure on Vera? Should we..."

"This project, the Yves Family must win the bid!" Harry Yves was adamant, "The money is borrowed, the factory is being built, if we don’t win, how will we repay?"

Vera Yves drove to a clinic and parked outside.

Sitting in the car, she looked at the lock on the clinic door, distant mories flooding back.

"You’re just a quack, a charlatan!"

"Your heart is really black, do you feel at ease making money from people’s life-saving funds?"

The ding of her phone pulled her thoughts back, Winston Valentine had sent her a ssage about a family dinner at the old house tonight.

Vera Yves returned to the villa to change clothes, the driver already waiting downstairs.

She got in the car, Winston Valentine was working on a tablet, without giving her a glance.

The car stopped outside the Valentine Family’s old residence.

Winston Valentine finally looked up briefly at Vera Yves, she acted as if she hadn’t seen him, and got out of the car.

The living room was bustling.

Cecilia Vaughn was sitting next to Old Mrs. Valentine, standing up when Vera Yves entered, sweetly greeting, "Third Sister-in-law." Noticing the marks on Vera Yves’s neck, her smile froze.

Winston Valentine walked in next, standing beside Vera Yves.

Cecilia Vaughn ca back to herself, smiling again, "Third Brother."

"Mm." Winston Valentine replied.

Vera Yves greeted everyone, Old Mrs. Valentine beckoned her cheerfully, "Vera, co over here."

Vera Yves walked over, Cecilia Vaughn had to yield her position.

Winston Valentine sat on a single sofa nearby, Cecilia Vaughn, with nowhere to sit, simply sat on the arm of his sofa.

His arm casually resting on the armrest, close to her, but showing no intention to move away.

Old Mrs. Valentine held Vera Yves’s hand and spoke extensively, Cecilia Vaughn occasionally lowered her head to converse with Winston Valentine, making Vera Yves restless, who excused herself to go to the washroom.

At the washroom, Vera Yves splashed cold water on her face.

"Are you feeling proud?"

Vera Yves turned around to look at Cecilia Vaughn, "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

"Being his wife, appearing together with him." Cecilia Vaughn walked beside her, her gaze landing on the marks on her neck that the scarf couldn’t cover, "Sleeping with him!"

Vera Yves chuckled, "As you said, I am his wife, aren’t these expected?"

"Why?" Cecilia Vaughn sneered, "By playing tricks, and using a child to force him into marrying you?"

Vera Yves swayed slightly, noticing the hatred in Cecilia Vaughn’s eyes, coldly replied, "Even if it’s not , it would be soone else."

"If it were soone from the sa social status, that would be acceptable, but you..." Cecilia Vaughn gritted her teeth, "What about you is better than ?"

Vera Yves t her gaze, "Whether I’m better or not, right now I am the rightful Mrs. Valentine."

"Rightful?" Cecilia Vaughn mocked, "Can’t you see how much he despises you?"

Rembering Winston Valentine’s words, Vera Yves replied calmly, "Rather than belittling , you’d better focus your efforts on Winston."

"You want to focus on him?"

"If you truly love each other, he will divorce for you." Vera Yves calmly said, "When that ti cos, I won’t have any complaints."

Cecilia Vaughn clenched her palms, "What are you pretending? You know about us..."

"Indeed, but you also know you’re impossible with him." Vera Yves coldly looked at her, "Why trouble yourself?"

Vera Yves calmly walked away, as she turned the corner, she saw the man leaning against the window.

Winston Valentine in a black shirt, one hand casually on the windowsill, seeing her, chuckled softly, "Co here."
