Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too Chapter 179: Not a No-Man’s Land
Vera Yves was t with Winston Valentine’s cold gaze, and any sense of drowsiness slipped away, "I..."
The unspoken words were sealed by his lips.
His tall body pressed her down onto the bed, and Vera tried to push him away but couldn’t. His kiss was domineering and lawless, even sowhat rough, causing Vera to frown in pain.
Noticing her stiffness, Winston regained his senses and released her.
Vera, breathing heavily, looked at him with discontent, "You hurt ."
"Vera Yves, do you think you hurt more than I do?" Winston pressed a hand to her chest, lowered his voice, and asked hoarsely, "Here, does it have in it?"
Seeing the undisguised vulnerability in his eyes, Vera thought of the absurd dream she had just had and felt filled with guilt toward him.
Unconsciously, she reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, raising her head to kiss his lips.
Her initiative made him ecstatic, but he didn’t rush to respond, allowing her to continuously attack and explore.
Pulling her away, Winston’s eyes were dim, "Do you know now who you’re kissing?"
Vera kissed him again.
Winston still didn’t respond to her, "Vera, tell , who are you kissing?"
Vera let go of him, wanting to retreat, but Winston held the nape of her neck, "Who am I?"
Looking into his passionate eyes, Vera whispered, "Winston Valentine, I know it’s you."
The warm fingertips brushed across her lips, and Winston lowered his head, enveloping her lips gently and indulgently, and Vera responded to his demands.
The temperature in the room kept rising.
Their clothes were in disarray, and Vera’s breathing beca rapid. She placed her hands on his arms, clearly wanting to push him away but unable to take action.
"Knock, knock, knock!" The knocking on the door snapped Vera back to reality, and she rembered where she was.
The door wasn’t locked, and Mark Yves entered after the knocking.
He saw Winston Valentine holding Vera down on the bed, covering her tightly — no words needed to explain what they were doing.
A pillow was thrown over, "Get out!"
Mark ca to his senses, blushing as he cursed and left the room.
With a "bang!", he slamd the door shut.
Vera pushed Winston away, tugging at her clothes, discovering a button from her blouse had been pulled off by him, revealing the pale skin of her chest, still marked by the traces he left.
Vera was sowhat annoyed; this man really took an inch and went a mile.
Winston was also affected, "Did a button fall off?"
Vera didn’t want to pay him any mind.
"I’ll have Walter Lowell send over a new set of clothes for you."
Vera’s cheeks flushed, "Changing clothes at this ti, it wouldn’t clear up even if I jumped into The Sorgan River!"
Winston touched her face, "Clear up what? Between the two of us, can anything be cleared up?"
Vera didn’t want to engage with him, but with a button missing from her blouse, she couldn’t go out.
"Go ask Mark what he wanted from ."
"You sleep a bit longer; I’ll wake you when the clothes arrive." Winston straightened his clothes, made a call to Walter Lowell, gave so instructions, and then left.
Mark originally ca to ask Vera to find out about Mia Tate’s condition; seeing Winston co out, he shot him a glare, thinking ’scoundrel’!
Winston ignored him, sat on the sofa, and took out his phone to reply to ssages.
Vera received a call; the program team had already released the promotional photos, telling her the response was good, and the program would officially start recording tomorrow, with a broadcast scheduled for a week later.
Walter Lowell soon arrived with the clothes.
As Vera finished changing and ca out, Hannah Hayes coincidentally arrived at the hospital with lunch.
She invited Vera and Mark to eat and gave Winston a sidelong glance, saying with a fake smile, "President Valentine, I must apologize. Back when Vera was your wife, you were never to be seen. I thought you were so busy with work. I didn’t expect you’d be able to spend half a day in the hospital, so I didn’t prepare lunch for you. You don’t mind, do you?"
Winston, knowing she was right, stayed calm and replied gently, "I have things to attend to this afternoon; I’ll grab sothing on the way."
He walked up to Vera, naturally bent down to peck her lips, "Rember to think of ."
Vera’s cheeks reddened, seeing him off to the ward entrance.
Winston wanted to lean down for another kiss, but Vera dodged away.
Winston pinched her chin, "If you’re worried about him, go see him."
Vera looked at him suspiciously, then heard him sarcastically say, "After all, your legs are your own, I can’t see them."
Vera, disinterested in his sarcasm, slapped his hand away and returned to the ward.
Hannah, looking at her with disappointnt, said, "This is a hospital, not a no-man’s land. At least be mindful of appearances!"
With that, Hannah took off the scarf from her neck and handed it to Vera, "Cover up a bit; imagine what people will think seeing this!"
Vera took the scarf and rushed to the bathroom. Seeing the hickey Winston left on her neck, she was furious — how was she supposed to face anyone like this? That jerk!
After finishing her al, Vera went to visit Mia Tate. Both her legs were suspended, and her face was still swollen.
The Tate parents didn’t look pleased to see Vera, but knowing they couldn’t afford to cross The Yves Family and since Vera wasn’t to bla, they remained courteous and couldn’t bring themselves to ask her to leave.
However, as soon as Mia saw Vera, she asked with concern, "Sister Vera, where’s Mark? Is he okay?"
"His left arm is broken, and he has so surface injuries, but nothing serious."
Mia appeared downcast, "Then why hasn’t he co to see ?"
Vera was surprised Mia was still concerned about Mark at this point, "You don’t bla him?"
"I insisted on sitting in the passenger seat," Mia said with teary eyes, "He refused at first, but I persisted until he agreed. If I hadn’t insisted on sitting there, maybe the accident wouldn’t have happened."
"You didn’t know it was dangerous, but he did, didn’t he?" Mrs. Tate couldn’t help but interject, "I’m telling you, you are never to see him again! He’s just toying with you!"
Mia’s tears flowed uncontrollably, "Sister, please let Mark co see ; I miss him, I don’t want to break up with him."
"Focus on getting better first," Vera softly comforted her, "When he’s feeling better, I’ll let him co see you."
Mia nodded.
Vera returned to the ward and relayed Mia’s words to Mark. He thought for a mont, "With my arm and leg like this, I can’t take the punches from her dad; just tell her I’m scum and unworthy, so she can forget about sooner."
Vera almost slapped him, "You almost cost her her life, and you still bring up breaking up? I asked the doctor; although they saved her legs with ergency surgery, there’s a significant chance she won’t be able to stand in the future."
Mark looked at her in surprise, "Didn’t they say it was fine?"
"Mark, avoiding it won’t solve the problem," Vera urged, "It’s your responsibility, and you can’t run away. When will you finally grow up?"
"She was with just for the money," Mark said indifferently, "At most, I’ll give her more, a million should be enough."
Vera sighed, "I can tell, Mia genuinely likes you."
Mark evidently didn’t believe it.
Knowing she couldn’t convince him, Vera hesitated before asking, "Are you really O blood type?"
