Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too Chapter 17: Only I Have the Right to End This
"Who gave you that illusion?" Winston Valentine loosened his grip, his slender fingers slowly moving down as he gave a sarcastic smile, "Do I need your approval to be with whoever I want?"
Vera Yves tried to avoid him, but he held her waist, Winston hooked her front button with his finger, "Moreover, I am not as generous as Mrs. Valentine, who can keep one person in her heart and yet be in harmony with another."
Vera looked at him in shock, "Winston Valentine, what nonsense are you talking?"
"Nonsense?"
With a forceful pull, all the buttons on Vera’s shirt scattered to the ground, she tried to gather her clothes, but Winston restrained her wrist, "Dare you say you didn’t go to beg Miles Monroe?"
Upon hearing the na, Vera’s watery eyes moved, she shook her head dazedly, "I didn’t."
"Liar!"
A sharp pain on her collarbone, Vera tried to push him away, but both her hands were pinned behind her.
"Since you just want to be a woman who satisfies my physical needs, I will make your wish co true!"
Only when she was thrown onto the bedroom bed did Vera understand the aning behind his words, seeing the harshness in Winston’s eyes, she instinctively tried to crawl away, but he caught her ankle, pulling her back.
Winston took off his shirt, revealing his strong chest, looming over her.
Vera pushed against him, but it was futile, she gritted her teeth, "Winston Valentine, I want to divorce you!"
Winston’s dark eyes deepened, pinched her chin, coldly laughed, "If you dare divorce , I’ll make Mark Yves rot in prison, and there will be no Yves Group in Imperia anymore."
Shocked, Vera looked at him, "You madman!"
"Madman?" Winston mocked, looking at her, "This is my last warning, only I have the authority to end this marriage!"
A wave of despair surged in Vera’s heart, "You obviously hate so much..."
"Who said I hate you?" His slender fingers wantonly teased her, "With Mrs. Valentine’s figure so good, although a bit stiff, I just can’t bear to hate you."
Her body shafully responded to his provocation, Vera was both embarrassed and angry, clearly, he knew exactly how to excite her, yet he insisted on saying she was like a dead fish?
Seeing her blushing face, Winston paused, sneering, "Do you know what it ans to satisfy ?"
Vera looked blank, then the next second, a piercing pain, reminded her of that rainy night.
She originally thought it was an absurd dream, until the pain made her start resisting, he grasped her wrist, looking at her, his dark eyes filled with burning fire and disgust.
The gaze from her mory overlapped with the one in front of her.
In pain, Vera bit his shoulder.
Winston paused, letting her bite, "Still talking about divorce?"
Vera turned her face away, gritted her teeth, "Winston Valentine, you bastard!"
Winston leaned down, kissing away the tear stains at her eyes, "That’s a bastard? You’ve got a long way to go to satisfy ."
...
Vera woke up already past ten the next morning, her eyes sowhat swollen.
Winston was already dressed, looking refreshed.
Vera turned her head away, cursing him as a bastard in her heart again.
"If you want to curse , do it, holding it in must be uncomfortable." Winston walked to the bedside, looking down at her, "Still ntioning divorce?"
Upon hearing this, Vera’s body instinctively ached.
Last night each ti he tornted her, he would ask that in her ear, if she didn’t answer, he’d prolong the tornt indefinitely.
"Not speaking?" Winston chuckled, "I don’t mind giving you more lessons."
Vera clenched her hands, shook her head with sha.
Only after hearing the door close did Vera’s tense body relax, aside from initially intentionally hurting her, he later changed tactics to humiliate her in other ways, absolutely perverted!
Vera got off the bed, almost falling when walking, cursing Winston all the way in her heart.
She showered, changed clothes, and drove away from the villa.
On the road, she received a call from Seth Quinn, "Vera, what did the Valentine Family say?"
Thinking of Cecilia Vaughn and Winston’s attitude, Vera helplessly replied, "Cecilia won’t let Mark Yves off."
"From what I know, the police don’t have enough evidence to convict Mark Yves yet."
Vera’s gaze moved, Cecilia’s aim was for her to divorce Winston, she must have left room to maneuver.
But how would she dare ntion divorce to him now? Despair rose in her heart.
Vera drove to the clinic, looking at the iron lock, her mind flashed to her grandfather’s pale face before he passed away, "Vera, bla no one, Grandpa is just too tired, wants to rest a bit."
Tears slid down her cheeks.
After calming her emotions, Vera called Tristan Valentine, who wasn’t surprised by her decision, "Treatnt starts tomorrow, I’ll send a car for you."
In the afternoon, Vera arrived at the hospital, Hannah Hayes was watching within the ward, upon seeing her, anxiously asked, "Vera, how is it? What did Winston say?"
Vera smiled, "Mom, it’s settled, don’t worry, Mark Yves won’t go to jail."
Hannah sighed in relief, wiping her tears, "That’s good, I knew Winston wouldn’t be heartless."
Vera said nothing.
Valentine Group President’s office.
Walter Lowell hurriedly entered, "President Valentine, just received word from the police, soone from the Valentine Family has already been to communicate, the case is resolved."
Still a step late! Winston’s face darkened, that foolish woman!
With Mark Yves’s issue resolved, that night Vera returned to the old house.
The old house was bustling, entering the living room, Vera realized it was linda Shelby back, she stepped forward with respect, "Mom."
linda acted like she didn’t hear, continuing to compare a scarf with Jean Taylor’s neck, "I just knew this color looks perfect on you."
Jean accepted it with a sycophantic smile, "Thank you, sister-in-law."
"No need for thanks."
Vera was about to go upstairs when linda suddenly spoke, "People from small households are truly unruly, didn’t you see I’m here?"
Vera stopped, called out, "Mom" again.
linda glanced at her, "I’m thirsty, co pour so tea."
Vera removed her coat, handed it to a servant, and walked into the living room, the attending servant retreated.
Vera bent to pick up the teapot, pouring tea for everyone.
linda took a sip, "Too bitter."
Vera could only pour it all out, rebrewing the tea leaves, her movents orderly.
Since everyone else was seated, being her elders, Vera was almost kneeling on the carpet.
Kneeling once more, Vera handed linda’s tea, "Mom, the tea’s ready."
linda’s gaze lingered on Vera’s face.
Vera had a classic oval face, fair skin, painting-like brows and eyes, exuding gentleness.
"I don’t feel like drinking Pu’er now." linda couldn’t mask her contempt, "Brew so floral tea instead."
Vera had no choice but to patiently pour it out, rebrew.
Amidst everyone’s chatter and laughter, Vera quietly brewed, her legs sore from kneeling.
Finally, when the tea was ready again, linda took a sip, frowned.
"What tea did you brew? Try it yourself, is it good?"
Before Vera could react, a cup of hot tea splashed onto her face.
