Together Apart: Her White Moonlight Has Returned Too Chapter 124: Must I Really Take Back the Trash?
Winston Valentine felt that the surroundings suddenly beca quiet.
After a long while, he finally found his voice, "What did you say?"
"There is no illegitimate daughter of Tristan Valentine in this world."
Seeing Winston Valentine’s face growing paler, Walter Lowell asked worriedly, "President Valentine, are you alright? Do you need a doctor?"
Winston Valentine recalled the things Tristan had said.
No wonder, even if found, it wouldn’t affect him because she wasn’t a mber of The Valentine Family!
But what about the paternity test certificate? If Vera Yves has nothing to do with The Valentine Family, why does it show she has a blood relationship with Tristan Valentine?
After Walter asked a few more questions, Winston Valentine ca to his senses and looked at Rae Rhodes, "Why do this to Vera Yves?"
"I didn’t want to keep playing the role with Cleo Sutton, so I thought about running away with a load of cash. I initially wanted to target Old Mrs. Valentine, but I couldn’t et her."
Rae spoke, her watery eyes flashing with jealousy, "I heard Vera got a lot of money from the divorce with you, so I thought about targeting her. I initially wanted to build a good relationship with her to get so money, but..."
"I know she doesn’t like , and when I saw her with Counselor Monroe, sweet and lovely together, I was really jealous! She’s a divorcee, yet she has got such an outstanding boyfriend like Counselor Monroe!"
"You wanted to kill her just out of jealousy?"
"I never thought of killing! I only wanted money!"
"Does it need two n to deal with Vera Yves alone?" Winston Valentine looked at her coldly, "Even if she returned to the apartnt with Miles Monroe, wouldn’t two n with knives be able to control the unsuspecting Miles Monroe?"
Facing his gaze, Rae Rhodes felt as if she was stripped naked, with nowhere to hide.
"He was looking at with those eyes!" Rae broke down emotionally, "And Vera, I called her sister, but her gaze was always so cold towards . They all looked down on ! They all deserve to die!"
Winston Valentine turned to Walter Lowell, "Send her to Chairman Valentine and let him handle it."
Rae panicked, realizing afterward, "They can’t betray ! How did you find out?"
Winston Valentine didn’t answer but had the bodyguards escort her out.
Once the hospital room quieted down, Winston pinched his arm, the pain reminding him it wasn’t a dream.
But what had he done?
mories flooded in, she had been right by his side, yet he had pushed her so far away.
After leaving the hospital, Miles Monroe accompanied Vera Yves back to the apartnt as there had been a break-in, and the community was updating the security system.
Vera made him tea.
Miles looked at her helplessly, "Why didn’t you tell earlier that your neighbor is Winston Valentine?"
"I only found out yesterday." Vera replied earnestly, "If I t him alone, it would have been even weirder."
"From now on, don’t et him alone."
Vera obediently nodded.
"Vera, it’s not that I’m being overbearing, but as a man, I can tell he still has feelings for you."
Vera looked at him in surprise, inexplicable mories flashing of the kiss at the old Valentine estate.
"Miles, whether he has feelings for is irrelevant." Vera explained patiently, "In a way, he got injured because of , I was only being polite in showing concern."
"I t Grandpa when I went ho yesterday. He looks much better and kept talking about you." Miles took her hand, "Next week co with to the old estate, let him see you, okay?"
Actually, she’d just helped Grandpa Monroe with his health condition not too long ago.
Vera hesitated, "Under what identity should I visit?"
"Of course as my girlfriend." Miles looked at her seriously, "Vera, Grandpa will definitely like you."
Vera was unsure, Grandpa Monroe did like her usually, but if she beca Miles’s girlfriend, she didn’t know if Grandpa Monroe would be unhappy.
In the afternoon, Miles went back to the law firm, while Vera paid a visit to The Yves Family and then went to The Valentine’s old estate to see Old Mrs. Valentine.
With Winston Valentine hospitalized, she wouldn’t run into him.
Once she stepped into the living room, she saw a group of won discussing sothing, and Vera handed her car keys to the servant to fetch her things from the car.
Seeing Vera co in, Jean Taylor specifically called her, "Vera, you ca right on ti, there’s sothing important to tell you."
Vera stopped walking.
Jean smiled at her, "Winston and Cecilia’s wedding is almost settled, your position is awkward. I see Old Mrs. Valentine’s health is much better, don’t keep visiting here, people will say things."
Vera eyed her, "Who told you her health is much better?"
"Everyone can see that."
"Are you the doctor, or am I the doctor?" Vera looked at her coldly, "You want to abandon after taking advantage, see if you have the capability first."
Jean’s smile stiffened, "I knew it, you just want to use this opportunity to reconcile with Winston!"
"What, have all the n in the world died? Do I have to recycle one piece of trash!" Vera’s face remained calm, just as the servants brought in the things.
Soon the items filled half the living room.
"I ca today to return things Old Mrs. Valentine had given ." Vera looked at Jean sarcastically, "After all, I don’t want any relations with The Valentine Family."
After speaking, Vera went upstairs.
Old Mrs. Valentine could already get out of bed, though still weak, when Vera ca in, she smiled at her, "Vera, grandma was just saying she wanted to call you, you helped grandma, what do you want in return?"
Vera’s voice was calm, "Winston already paid the consultation fee."
"He is him, I am , how is that the sa?"
"I’m divorced from Winston, I can’t accept anything from The Valentine Family." Vera earnestly said, "I don’t want my boyfriend to misunderstand, I ca specifically to return things, once your health is improved, I won’t co to The Valentine Family."
Old Mrs. Valentine’s smile faded slightly, "Vera, would you really break ties with because of Winston?"
Vera didn’t deny it.
Old Mrs. Valentine looked dejected, "Winston lacks fortune."
Vera checked her health and adjusted the prescription before leaving her room.
When Vera reached the staircase, she saw the man who should’ve been in the hospital heading upstairs, noticing Vera’s gaze, Winston Valentine looked over.
Vera quickly restored her composure, moved to the side of the wall, and continued downstairs.
Just as they brushed past each other, Winston caught her arm.
Vera tried to pull away, but he wouldn’t let go, "You’ve been drinking?"
His tall build suddenly pressed in, nearly toppling Vera, luckily there was a wall for support. Instinctively pushing him, she found his side sticky.
Winston leaned close to her ear, his voice weak, "It hurts, let lean on you for a while."
