Chapter 892: Chapter 892 The One He Loves is Back (Part 6)_1
Rusell Henris listened to Edward Woods’s complaints without responding; instead, he opened his laptop and bluntly started working right in Edward’s office.
Edward, lazy and languid, lifted his hand to prop up his head, watching Rusell’s relentless typing for a while before blinking and withdrawing his gaze, continuing to speak, “Ruby is fine, though. Even though we grew up together as kids, she’s not like us, tangled in work affairs. Madeleine has co back this ti, and after another divorce with Howard, we are bound to run into each other all the ti, it’s going to be awfully awkward!”
Rusell’s fingers didn’t slow their pace on the keyboard as he multitasked, staring at the computer screen and saying, “Howard has changed quite a bit over these years.”
“Not just quite a bit, he’s practically a different person. Among us, he used to talk the most, always finding ways to ss with others when there was no trouble. Now, when we all go out, he becos the quietest one. In the past, with Madeleine around, even if you were broody and aloof, we still had four who could chat and laugh. Now suddenly it’s just the two of us, sigh…”
Rusell, hearing Edward’s sigh and with his brows and eyes showing no particular change, inexplicably threw out, “Aren’t we good, the two of us?”
“Ah? Just us two?” Edward sat up straight, thought for a mont, and said, “Yeah, we’re pretty good!”
Rusell didn’t continue the conversation; instead, a slight smile appeared at the corner of his lips.
After a mont, Edward spoke again, “Rusell, do you think Howard really likes Madeleine? Has he changed these years because of her?”

Because Ruby Gregory had been inford by Madeleine in advance about her return to the country, her apartnt in Ciawell had already been cleaned and tidied up by Ruby’s arrangents. Ruby even replaced the old-fashioned clothes in Madeleine’s closet with the new season’s styles.
She had intended to rest up at ho, but the anticipation of eting Howard Coleman that night kept her lying dry in bed for several hours without a wink of sleep.
They had agreed to et at The Sapphire Bistro at eight in the evening. At six o’clock, Madeleine received a call from Ruby saying she had already set off and would arrive at around seven-thirty.
Madeleine lived in the city, unlike Ruby who needed over an hour to co over, so after hanging up, Madeleine dallied for nearly half an hour before getting out of bed to wash up, apply simple makeup, put on a new skirt with the tag still on, paired with matching shoes, and then left ho.

Ruby Gregory arrived at The Sapphire Bistro at seven-thirty-five, where Steve Burton, Rusell Henris, Edward Woods, and Howard Coleman were already there, probably because they had arrived much earlier and were playing cards.
As it was nearing eight o’clock and Madeleine still hadn’t shown up, Ruby couldn’t help but take out her phone to hurry her, only to find out that a rear-end collision on the road was causing the delay.
When Ruby asked via WhatsApp for the fifth ti where Madeleine was, she heard Madeleine’s voice replying to her through the door of the private room, “Ruby, I’m at the door of the private room!”
No sooner had the words fallen than the waiter pushed open the door, and Madeleine, looking charming and dragging a large suitcase, confidently walked in.
At the exact mont the door opened, it just so happened to be Howard’s turn to play his card. He heard Madeleine’s voice, looked up towards the door, and then froze in place, as if struck by an acupoint.
