For class collective activities like this, it was natural for Ruby, the female class leader, to be in charge of planning and directing.
At that ti, there was an organizing committee mber in their class, who was also a girl. Aside from being slightly taller than Ruby, she didn’t seem to have any other advantages, but she could still be considered a bright beauty among the crowd.
It was said that this organizing committee mber had once been elected as the Hocoming Queen in middle school, and she was doted upon by many. However, after entering high school and encountering Ruby, she lost much of her previous glory.
Even more, it was rumored that a senior whom the organizing committee mber had a crush on actually sent Ruby flowers and a box of chocolates on the night of Chinese Valentine’s Day.
The items required for the Christmas event were ordered by all the classmates in Ruby’s class, but Ruby and the organizing committee mber, along with several male classmates, went to a supermarket to buy them.
After buying the items, they began to arrange the classroom, and after going back and forth several tis, it was already past seven o’clock in the evening. The boys, eager to go ho and play gas, left one after another and left Ruby and the organizing committee mber in charge of finishing the small details.
Nearing the end of their work, the organizing committee mber also found an excuse to leave, leaving Ruby alone in the end.
The next day, in the afternoon, it was ti for the Christmas party in Ruby’s class.
This party had a raffle draw, the grand prize was an MP3 player. For students at the ti, it was definitely a luxury item.
Ruby, the organizing committee mber, and several boys had bought the Sony MP3 player together at the mall.
Ruby was the last person to leave the classroom the day before. All the gifts and food were piled up in a corner at the back of the classroom, and she didn’t think they would get lost. So, she just locked the classroom and went ho.
However, when Ruby arrived at the classroom after lunch, she found the class teacher, the organizing committee mber, and several class officers with particularly solemn expressions.
Ruby looked at everyone with a puzzled expression, but after a while, the class teacher told her the MP3 player was missing and pointed out that she was the last person who left the classroom the night before.
Ruby imdiately understood what the class teacher was implying, so she tried making clear her innocence, but the class teacher remained skeptical, and even told Ruby it was good to correct her mistakes in the end.
Ruby, who had been busy preparing for the event for such a long ti, was utterly wronged when accused of being a thief. The previous night, she was proud of the party venue she had personally set up, but now, she felt extrely upset.
The atmosphere at the ti was tense. Ruby obviously hadn’t taken the MP3 and naturally didn’t want to admit it, but all the students were standing around, waiting for her, the last person to leave the classroom, to hand over the MP3.
Madeleine naturally supported Ruby without any reason, but due to her young age and lack of experience, she got scared seeing Ruby being doubted by so many people. So, with tears in her eyes, she called Howard Coleman for help with her phone.
