Chapter 341: Chapter 214: The Pressure Is So Huge (First Update)_1
Sitting on the spaceship, Monkey looked at his system log, continuing to plan his next steps.
The system log recorded his recent actions, and the main quest hadn’t unfolded yet; so far, the situation was developing smoothly.
However, trouble was coming soon.
The farther away from the initial planet, the stronger the suppression of the main quest beca. Players would begin to encounter all sorts of accidents from this mont on, including but not limited to Interstellar Pirates, inexplicable teors, and the occasional passing cha warrior.
Luckily, “Spirit Vessel” was sowhat related to “Space Navigator.” Yet this world was more like a parallel universe; it didn’t have powerful beings like Gods or Demigods, otherwise straying from the main quest would have posed far too great a challenge.
As Monkey speculated on what the next challenge would be, he heard the pilot in the cockpit screaming insanely, “The spaceship is malfunctioning! We must return ho!”
“What happens if we don’t return ho?” Teddy Bear, threatening the pilot, asked curiously.
“See that star up ahead?”
“It’s so big, of course I saw it.”
“If we don’t return ho, we’re going to end up in it!”
“Return ho!”
Hearing Teddy Bear’s scream, Monkey knew that the world’s suppressive force was taking effect.
After bidding farewell to the president of the Scavenger Organization, Monkey downloaded a star map, scooped up Teddy Bear, and amidst the gaze of the crowd, ejected from the spaceship, heading towards the location of the arena.
After Monkey left, the originally malfunctioning spaceship miraculously returned to normal in an instant. This supernatural event made one suspect that sothing was targeting Monkey.
Although separated from the spaceship, they were now very close to the arena, and the cha itself could be used as a spaceship. Except for the lack of leap capability, it could completely serve as an ergency Escape pod.
The upgraded cha could now accommodate Teddy Bear and Monkey. In the slightly spacious cockpit, a bear and a mouse, bored, watched the scenery outside through the screen when they suddenly both felt a bit of boredom.
Looking at Teddy Bear, Monkey was the first to ask, “What can you tell besides dirty jokes?”
“Hmm…”
“Alright, I get it.”
“Wait, let think. I must figure out what I’m good at. After all, I’m an Artifact Spirit.”
Teddy Bear, holding its head, started to think hard. After a long while, it looked up and asked, “Am I cute?”
“You’re all grubby, but Sanmiao might like that.”
“Who’s Sanmiao? Your girlfriend?”
“No, the cat from our studio.”
“A cat, huh… Well, being liked by a cat is good enough.”
“Yeah, it loves to treat plush toys as its toys. It looks so well-behaved usually, but it tears apart plush toys in no ti.”
“I’ve decided to start hating cats from today.”
Teddy Bear crossed its arms and continued pondering its own problem, but no matter how hard it thought, it couldn’t figure out what its specialty was.
Even its mories were a confusing blur, at tis feeling omniscient, and at other tis feeling like it knew nothing at all.
The twin tornts of mory and capability left Teddy Bear confused about its identity once more, able to only hazily rember its status as an Artifact Spirit.
What kind of Artifact Spirit was it? Why could a chip transfer its consciousness away?
Just as Teddy Bear began to doubt its own existence, an alarm suddenly blared inside the cha. The piercing sound made Teddy Bear look up, alert and watching the screen closely.
Monkey returned to the pilot seat, his character’s nervous system interfacing with that of the cha, rging man and machine.
The alarm indicated they were locked in a force field, but the other party had not shown hostility for now. The next step would probably be to establish a communication channel and then state their intentions.
As expected, once the force field was established, the other party’s voice ca through.
“This is an investigator from the Alliance cha, according to our checks, you appear to be operating an unregistered cha. Please disarm imdiately, and await our retrieval of the cha for investigation. I repeat, disarm imdiately and await investigation.”
The other party repeated this ssage three tis. Although there was no change in intonation, each repetition made Teddy Bear a little more nervous.
Drawing close to Monkey, Teddy Bear asked in a low voice, “What’s the Alliance cha?”
“A large-scale cha organization, aid at reducing the damage caused by chas. Unauthenticated chas have a risk of exploding, so they check them.”
“That sounds quite just,” Teddy Bear comnted. “Let’s let them check it out.”
Monkey looked at Teddy Bear.
Even though ga characters don’t show expressions, Teddy Bear still felt an air of helplessness emanating from Monkey.
“They are not just at all, even the number one villain in the story mode. Besides, did you forget that I assembled our cha by myself?”
“No, but so what?”
“It has an extrely high risk of explosion; it’s the kind that would be dismantled if discovered. The only reason it hasn’t exploded is that I understand its output limits very well, but if it gets spotted, it’s definitely going to be torn apart.”
After a pause, Monkey continued, staring at Teddy Bear, “You’re the sa. You’re also a scrapped micro cha. If caught, you’ll be scrapped too.”
“But I am an Artifact Spirit, and I have my own consciousness,” Teddy Bear protested.
“Do you think the Alliance cha would believe that?”
“… So what do we do?”
