*ALORA*
Caden walked into my room but his footsteps halted when I turned fully to face him.
He stood there, his eyes running through my body.
I frowned.
I was on a simple sundress for my brunch with Joan, my close friend.
Why was he staring at as if I got sothing strange on?
“Caden?”I called and that snapped him out of it.
He shook his head.
“Hmm.”
He stood in front of now and stared at , intently.
His stares made feel uneasy.
“Why are you here?”
“You’re breathtaking...sorry, I have sothing for you.”
Was he about to complint ?
I bit back a smile.
Well, he looked every bit like the handso man that he was.
Yeah, even if I didn’t want to admit it, I couldn’t deny the fact that he really was handso.
Short, orderly hair.
Nice-shaven chin.
And a face that could make a lot of girls swoon.
I watched as he reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a small box.
I swallowed as he slowly lifted the top.
My lips parted when I saw what was inside.
Inside the box was a silver necklace, the pendant was in the shape of a heart with a few diamonds on the side.
It was a very beautiful necklace.
I suddenly rembered the necklace he gave back then when I agreed to date him.
I had disposed of it.
Why was he giving another necklace?
Did he perhaps still have feelings for ?
Was he going to confess?
“I don’t rember leading you on, or making you think I still have feelings for you, now, you had to make things awkward between us, I guess I have a good reason to fire you now.”
Caden gasped looking surprised by my words and then he burst into laughter.
I frowned.
What was so funny?
“Get over yourself, Alora. You must already know that a wanted notice had already been put out for the man who tried to kidnap you but we cannot take chances. The police looking for him would not stop him from committing more cris, so until he’s found and arrested, we need to make sure we never lose track on you.” Caden explained and then pressed on the heart shape on the necklace, he held it up and I saw the pendant opened.
Inside was a small red device.
“I figured no one would be able to guess that this has a tracking device on it. So even if you’re not with your phone, even if we’re not by your side, we’d always find you, promptly.”
I nodded in comprehension.
“You’re to wear this for now. Don’t take it off.”
I suppose I could for my safety.
“Let put it on for you.”
I turned and he stood behind .
My body temperature suddenly increased feeling him so close to .
He gently pushed my hair to my front, I could feel him bend a little and then he clicked the necklace on.
I knew the necklace was on now but he kept bending, he kept doing that until I felt his breath on my neck.
I shivered.
“I don’t rember leading you on, or making you think I still have feelings for you, now, you had to make things awkward between us, I guess I have a good reason to fire you now.” He let out, mimicking my voice.
I elbowed him on the stomach and he moved back, laughing.
“Asshole.”I breathed and stord off.
*************
“Alora!”Joan squealed when she saw .
She owned a fashion house and for about a month, the two of us had been too busy to et.
“I’m so happy we could finally et up today. We’re going to have so much fun.”She added as she hugged .
I smiled and nodded.
It was always a joy to hang out with Joan.
She took notice of Caden who was behind like a freaking shadow.
She eyed and then pulled to our table.
As we got seated, Caden got seated on another table behind us, surveying the area.
“Who’s he?”Joan whispered.
“My new bodyguard, you don’t have to whisper.”I replied.
“Couldn’t he like wait outside or sothing?”
The other bodyguards I’ve had always listened to and let have my privacy but Caden only let out of his sight when I was in my house.
Once I’m outside my house, he sticks to my side like glue.
I’ve spoken to him about it but he just won’t listen.
Plus, Oscar says that the bodyguards sticking to as much as possible was preferable at the mont.
I shook my head at Joan.”Don’t worry, he won’t be a bother. Just pretend he isn’t here.”
“How can I when he’s that hot?”
I rolled my eyes.
Does every woman who et Caden have to gush over him?
“Let’s order.”I announced but I noticed she was stealing glances at Caden from ti to ti.
Joan and I placed our orders, talked and caught up on what’s been going on with our lives.
She was surprised about the threats.
“I’m trying to think of who might have the motive of hurting you but the only one whom I think might go that far is Vanessa.”
Joan had t Vanessa at a function before.
I was also there so she had witnessed Vanessa’s peskiness.
“I know she keeps feeling like she’s in so kind of competition with but would she really go as far as having killed?” I asked.
Joan sighed.”I’m just guessing. But jealousy can really be powerful. Anyway, I’m glad you have adequate protection now. Whoever it is will soon be caught.” She held my hand. “I’m sorry you’re going through this.”
“I’m not scared. I’m sure the person will be caught soon and I’ll put this all behind .”
“That’s the spirit!”Joan cheered.”And now, to end our day, let’s go clubbing.” She announced.
That sounded fun.”I’m in.”
“Let’s go to Climax club!”
That was my favorite club.”Is tonight the male strippers night?”
Joan nodded.”You guessed right! We could feel so skin tonight, touch so abs...”
Caden stood up, abruptly, startling us.
Joan and I turned to stare at him.
He stared down at us. “Male strippers? Touch so abs?”
I frowned.”Is there a problem with that, Mr Ford?”
“Is that sothing two dignified young ladies should be doing?”
Joan suddenly looked frightened and she shook her head.
“Yeah, we shouldn’t go to the...”
“We’re going to the club.”I declared.
Who was Caden to tell what to do?!
************
Joan and I stopped by the mall to get club outfits.
We wanted to look sexy.
As we both ran through the variety of sexy outfit, Joan kept staring nervously at Caden who was standing at the door of the store.
“What’s wrong with your bodyguard? Why does he look so upset?”
I glanced at Caden and he really looked pissed.
“Oh God, my eyes just t his. It’s as if he wants to kill with his eyes. Does he think you might get in danger at the club? I shouldn’t have...”
I grabbed her shoulders.”Joan, calm the fuck down, I have him and Hanks following to the club anyway. I can go where ever I want, he’s not the boss of .”
“Yeah, why am I even scared of him? He’s just a bodyguard. Sure, he is very good looking and has a gorgeous face, a deep voice that makes a woman knees go weak and make her obey his every command...”
I gasped, watching Joan go from being scared to swooning over Caden.
I clicked my fingers in front of her eyes.
“Stop gushing over my bodyguard and let’s go get dressed.”

Jero was pacing to and fro in his secret hideout.
He was furious to have been identified!
He was a cold blooded killer, soone who derived joy and satisfaction in killing people!
The fact that he hadn’t succeeded in killing Alora that night had greatly angered him.
He had thought Alora would be frightened by the gun and just stay seated, quietly.
He hadn’t expected her to attack from behind and drag the steering wheel with him. He never thought she was that feisty. When he got the job to kill her, he had watched her for many weeks, he had thought she was just a weak little woman.
The fact that he underestimated her angered Jero beyond words. He had been pissed about that for weeks. He should have just struck her with the gun, or make her pass out by suffocating her before driving away to brutally finish her off.
By now, the job would have been done and he wouldn’t be on the wanted list.
But instead, here he was, hiding and thinking of what to do next.
More than anything, he was burning with rage, he had tried to finish the job but the security around Alora was putting him off.
He knew about MG security very well, they were the best in town and it was no surprise that they were able to track him down faster than the police.
Jero wanted to finish this job. There was no job that he didn’t finish. Since he was already on the wanted list, if he kills Alora and gets caught, then he felt it’d be worth it. He couldn’t just go to jail without finishing the job, he needed the satisfaction from it.
His employer had been calling him nonstop but he was too ashad to pick up.
But at this mont, he had a plan.
So he texted his employer.
Jero: I know you’re scared that I’d tell on you if I get caught. I never tell on my bosses, it’s against my conduct. But rest assured, I will not get caught without finishing my job. That woman is going to die!
