*RAPHAEL*
That evening, I laid on my bed facing the ceiling.
Mona had been jet lag from the trip back and she went straight to bed.
I felt relieved that for the recent days, she hadn’t brought up sex at all.
I felt glad. Perhaps, by the ti she brings it up again, Lorenzo would have been found.
I greatly hoped so.
Feeling thirsty, I walked out of my bedroom with the intention of going downstairs to get a bottle of water.
As I passed by Mona’s door, I heard her voice.
She sounded troubled.
“No...please...stay with ...Don‘t leave.”
Was she talking in her sleep?
“No...please...wait.”
I moved closer to the door, she sounded so panicked.
I slowly opened the door and found her tossing in her sleep.
She was having a bad dream I think.
What should I do?
Wake her up?
But she has the great image of not wanting to seem vulnerable.
I should try to calm her down without waking her up.
I slowly got into the bed and held her in my arms.
“Shh...It’s okay...no one is leaving you...it’s okay.”
She sighed into my arms.
After a while, she fell into a peaceful sleep.
I stared at her as she slept.
Removing so strands of her hair from her face, I admired how beautiful she is.
How can a woman so beautiful be so an?
I just can’t understand it.
I stared at her lips recalling how it felt to kiss her on the wedding day.
I quickly shook my head.
She had tasted so sweet, sweetly forbidden.
I sighed into the scent emanating from her body.
Realizing I was getting too familiar with her, I carefully extracted my hands from her and stood up from the bed.
She seed okay now. I quickly walked out of my bedroom, reminding myself that she was off-limits.
***************
The following day, she ca down for breakfast dressed all elegantly.
“Good morning.” I greeted.
She simply waved at .
Not wanting to put up with her, I focused on the delicious al that my head chef, well, Lorenzo’s head chef, Flora had prepared.
“WHO THE HELL PREPARED THIS?!”Mona scread.
I was startled that I choked on my al.
The head chef and two maids ran in.
“I did, ma’am”
“I don’t like shrimps, get another al prepared for without adding it”
Flora nodded and hurried off.
I leaned against my chair. “You could have just called her, you didn’t need to scream like that”
“I didn’t scream, I only asked a question and I don’t fucking know her na”
“She’s called Flora and the two other maids are Es and Anna”
“You only have three kitchen staff?” She asked, disgusted.
“Yes, is there any need to have more? They’re just attending to the two of us”
“That’s not enough. I need a lot of people attending to .”
I stared at her, speechlessly.
Even I thought Enzo had a lot of staff, now, she needed more?
An hour later, Flora walked in with another dish.
I watched Mona taste it and frowned.
“I don’t like carrots.” She snapped and tossed the food away so it landed on the floor.
I gasped. “You can just tell her what you like and dislike so she wouldn’t put it in your al.” I offered.
“She should make her findings, that’s her job.” She snapped.
I felt like smacking her.
“Get sothing else prepared for now!” She ordered.
I have to start heading to the company now. Dante said I had to attend my first eting today.
But I was scared on behalf of the housekeepers.
God knows what Mona would do to them before I get back.
I should make sure they escape her wrath before I leave.
Another hour passed and Flora ca back with another al.
Mona tasted it and shrieked. “You’re so incompetent.”
I didn’t quite appreciate her talking to the older woman like that.
I held my cutlery and tasted the al.
“This is delicious, Mona”
“It’s not. Don’t bother making another al, I need to find a cook to replace you.”
“You would do no such thing. Apologize to Flora now.”
Mona scoffed. “I should apologize to a re employee?”
“She’s not just my employee. She’s a person.”
“Sir, it’s okay, you two shouldn’t fight because of .”
“Right? It’s pathetic for us to fight because of a re employee but Enzo is being so righteous.” Mona sneered.
I glared at her. “And you are being an for no reason!” I turned to face Flora.
“She clearly doesn’t want to eat anything this morning so don’t prepare anything more.”
Flora nodded and walked away.
“You bastard!” Mona slamd her hands on the table.
“Watch your tongue, woman!” I snapped. “What’s the matter with you? Do you enjoy talking down on people?”
“Yes.” She smirked.
She smirked.
She fucking smirked?
What was wrong with the woman?
Oh Enzo, of all the won in the world, how could you chose this one?
I took a deep steadily breath and stood up.
“I’m heading to work.”
“As if I care.” She snapped.
I tsked and walked out of the dining room.
I headed to the kitchen to apologize to Flora.
“I’m so sorry about her attitude.”
“It’s fine, Sir. I’m used to this. It’s part of my job.” She let out.
I frowned.
Why was she say that?
She was used to being insulted?
I recalled growing up, my mom, I an Ellie had worked as a maid, was she treated like this?
Even if they were house-helps, they deserved to be treated like humans as well.
“I’m really sorry, Flora. I will make sure she doesn’t treat you like that again.”
Flora stared at , skeptically and then murmured.
“It’s shocking that soone like you is apologizing or even speaking this softly to , sir. I heard you lost your mory, I guess that’s why you seed so different.” She looked uneasy as if she shouldn’t be saying this but she had to.
I gulped recalling everything I had heard of Enzo before.
Him and Mona were pretty much the sa. an and cold hearted.
But I don’t think I can completely behave like Enzo.
At the sa ti, I didn’t want to get bursted.
