The stat boosts were nice, especially the ones to his END. His body felt like it was being amped up on stimulants, but rather than feeling like an end of the high was coming, it stayed rock steady.
Grey hopped up on his toes. ’And they don’t even crease. This is just too perfect. Fuck, I almost forgot there is still one other thing I need.’
After looking around, Grey found what he was looking for.
—
Na: Rejuvenating Jade Band
Rarity: Epic
Accepted Type: Recursive; Resonant
Rejected Type: Linear; Branching
Description: They say jade is blessed by the gods and filled with good luck. Even upon breaking, this luck will remain yours and instantly refill your stamina back to its maximum a single ti.
Abilities:
100% Stamina.
1 Stamina regeneration per 20 seconds.
—
It took so doing, but Grey managed to slip the bracelet on.
—
Stamina: 200/222 ( 100%)
—
Grey frowned when he saw this and pulled up another screen.
—
Na: A Beauty’s Bracelet
Rarity: Rare (BLESSED) (LIMITED)
...
Abilities:
50% Stamina.
1 Stamina regeneration per 30 seconds. Dispel one status effect with a paynt of 5 Stamina.
—
He was right. He hadn’t hallucinated it. There really had been a
50% boost to his stamina from it, but he had thought it was working in the background or sothing. But it seed that it just hadn’t appeared at all.
’Is that because it says LIMITED? Or is it sothing else?’
Logically, Grey had a Holy Fra now. So even if it was limited before, it couldn’t still be limited now, no?
He had only bought this jade band because it was a higher grade than the bracelet so he assud it made sense for it to be so much better. He didn’t expect that the change would be more significant than he thought.
’Whatever. It doesn’t matter now anyway, I have a better item.’
It was just odd. He had seen the Stamina regeneration work on the bracelet before. So why would one of its Abilities work but not the other?
It couldn’t be because of his Vampire Lord Fra, because he had gotten it before he ever got the Fra.
Grey waved it away. "Alright. Thanks, frog man, I’m headed out now."
"Mm." Ji nodded, watching as Grey left without another word. Deep within his eyes, though, there was more than a small hint of incredulousness.
There was a limit to how many treasures a single person could wear. If you took on too much, no matter how rich you were, you would overload your circuits.
He had been standing there, waiting for Grey to feel so sort of backlash. The kid didn’t like to listen, so Ji could only do things this way.
But how could he have guessed that that ti would never co?
What level of Fra did Grey have to be able to take on five Epic treasures at the sa ti?
No, it was more than that, wasn’t it? He had seen those tattoos on Grey’s hands. He knew a rare Legendary item when he saw one.
Grey didn’t even look like he was straining.
At so unknown point, Ji found himself grinning ear to ear.
This boy would stir up quite so chaos.
It was no wonder the Genesis Council wanted him dead.
Unfortunately for them, the Genesis Gas wasn’t their personal backyard. Sure, they could nibble at the edges and control so surface level stuff, but the Genesis Gas and the Genesis System had been around long before them...
And it would be around long after them.
’I guess it was right to make this decision after all.’

"WHY THE HELL IS IT NOT OPERATIONAL?!" Caldrin roared at a small goat man.
"We don’t know, we don’t know." The goat man scrambled, bending back and away from Caldrin’s large, looming form. The latter’s skin rapidly changed colors before settling on a violet so dark it was nearly black.
He was absolutely furious. They had been getting nothing but static from the outpost for the last several hours. They had no idea what Grey was doing.
The worst part was that whatever Grey gained inside wouldn’t be properly noted by their system, and as such their monitoring would have a huge gap in it.
If Grey was the sort to let his sponsors in on what he was doing, it would be fine, they would learn later. But Grey hadn’t even properly thanked his actual sponsor, let alone his viewers.
He was infuriating to an extre. It was almost like he was doing it all on purpose.
How fucking hard could it be to kill a little tiny human?!
"WELL FIND OUT!" Caldrin roared, slamming a tentacle into one of the legs of the goat man. A whimper ca from the latter, tears budding in his eyes. But he didn’t dare to make too much noise.
"Assistant Producer Sir," Shiikha ran into the room with docunts in her hands, her eight legs leaving a pitter patter in her wake. "I’ve found an anomaly."
"What is it?" Caldrin said coldly.
"A day ago there was an odd glitch at the outpost that shut down the Safe Room for entry. I tried to look into it—."
The docunts were snatched right out of Shiikha’s hands.
"I will look into this myself." He growled.
But inwardly, he was cursing up a storm. Was this really all their fault?
No. It wasn’t his fault. It was those fucking cheap bastards that couldn’t optimize fucking robot arms properly or give them the budget to screen these participants.
Yet now they would kill him for mistakes that were definitely their fault.
Caldrin wanted to roar out in fury, but there was no one who would truly hear his cry.
