When Cole woke up it was most definitely not in his room, or at least anywhere that was familiar. He could hear the familiar beeping sounds that he would attribute to hospital equipnt. He was still alive…. Good. Dying would have sucked, not after how far he has co, but he was not the only who's life was in danger was he? He imdiately got up, wincing as he pulled out the IV within his body. But before he could take full stock of his surroundings a hand ca out of nowhere and pushed him back down onto the bed he had woken up on.
"Please, if you aggravate your injuries you would make my job lot more harder than it should. But in hindsight I don't think you would have to remain on that bed for long. You heal really fast." Cole looked up to see Dragon, the head of his security detail from Sierra Corp. Cole was still honestly trying to figure that company out, he already knew that the system was devouring his reality, but he had no idea where Sierra Corp cos into all of this, after all, they were supposed to be just a tech company.
But Cole knew how the system works, or at least the parts he has co to understand, and through it all Sierra Corp was still a mystery. Because if Titan Rising Online was. Not a ga they made but a doorway to a wider universe, then what were they…. A Trojan horse of the system perhaps, or powerful people playing at being gods, or perhaps was it that there wasn't a single person behind the ga corporation and it was just the system all along. There was just too many things to consider and frankly speaking it left Cole very confused and very wary.
Now that he was laying back on his ass, severely defeated after narrowly escaping with his life, he had to consider everything from a different angle. It also begs the question how it was possible for his aunt to have gone past his security detail, the Team Dragon led was supposed to be the best of the best. But all these questions could be answered later, what he really wanted to know now though, was how Tehilla was doing. Perhaps it was written all over his face, but Dragon had an answer for him.
"You don't have to worry about your fiancée sir, whatever it is you did, it saved her life. She fine, in fact she's on her feet and has taken command of the frigate quite well in your 24 hour absence. We should be coming up on the dark side of the moon by now, we wanted to wait for you to wake up before we entered Hyper space, at least while the warp engine is building up charge for a jump."
Cole raised an eyebrow at that, but ultimately he sighed as he leaned back against the bed. Taking charge of things sounded exactly like what Tehilla would do, she was always very efficient with her job and hated being idle, even if she ca off as cold as ice…. Which she was. Tehilla was extrely efficient and she and his grandmother had been the one to take the reins of all his assets. But she was okay, heck she was even on her feet and taking control of the ship?
"Wait did you say that she was on her feet?" Cole asked shocked, the smile on Dragon's face was proof enough for Cole to know that he had used that phrase on purpose.
"You did not just heal her sir, what you did was nothing short of a miracle. Even for the bounds of the system infusing exp into a person that has not co in contact with the system and channeling it through a skill was, and forgive for my words sir; STUPID AS FUCK! But sohow you made it work, not just saving her from bleeding out due to her crushed ankles but improving on her physique and eliciting changes in her Geno."
"Huh? What do you an by changes in her Geno?" Cole asked, this ti sitting up right, to make sure he was giving Dragon his full attention.
"I don't think she's human again sir. Her muscles are denser, her arteries, veins, and organs have grown large and even more sturdy than before, making it possible for her to perform feats of superhuman levels that she was previously incapable of. Plus to make matters worse, it seems she has beco the first out of this universe to beco connected to the system. And while the rules of reality are still sowhat constrained and she can't level, through a rather painful accident we discovered juts like you she can siphon off the energy and use it to get stronger."
It was as if a bomb had gone off in his head, Cole knew exactly what she had beco and now more than ever he had to see her. Dragon noticed the determined look on his face, but all he did was smile at Cole and shake his head. Cole wondered if this guy was not aware that he could blow him to smithereens with just a thought, flexing such control over Cole was dangerous grounds to thread, Dragon was not his Doctor.
"I've sent a ssage to her the very mont you woke up, she's on her way here right now." Cole furrowed an eyebrow in confusion, then settled down when he realized he could have just as easily sent the ssage through his neural do. But then the next set of words shocked him.
"I don't have neural do sir, I'm a telepath, and no I am not reading your thoughts, only when you're thinking particularly too hard or too loud like this very mont." Dragon smiled at Cole's shocked look, then he chuckled as he got up and left the room, leaving a baffled Cole behind.
Cole leaned back on the bed, alone with his thoughts once again, he was a little worried that Dragon could hear them, but ultimately he didn't care. If Dragon proved to be an obstacle or a problem Cole would remove him and his entire team…. Permanently and that was a thought Cole hoped he heard. But the matter at hand had to be addressed. His aunt had tired to kill him, and sohow within the last twenty four hours since that happened, they had gone off world. Obviously quite a few things had happened while he was unconscious, it worried him, but he would get all the answers soon enough.
"Morgan, what's our current course?" Cole asked, as the familiar presence of Morgan filled the room, and his voice ca out of the intercom systems.
[It is good to see you well Master Cole. At the mont Mistress is pushing the frigate as fast as it can possibly go to rendezvous with the ship carrying Cassandra and her Son. They are still in danger but at the mont are holding on as they have received reinforcent. However it seems Raven is adamant about retrieving them, even to the point of going against his own family.
With you being unconscious it was not wise to engage the Hyper drive and slip into hyper space. Studies show that mode of travel has so adverse effects to the mind if one is stuck in hyper space for too long. The doctor's orders were that all of your cognitive functions had to be at least at 85% before hyper space travel can be implented, so we have been moving at a sedate yet brisk pace.]
Cole nodded to himself then asked. "Do you have any idea how my aunt had went past my security detail?"
[She is a mber of the family sir, she has access to all wings. Plus she had accomplices, they were what had delayed the Zodiac team from getting to you in ti. Most of them are dead with two others in custody, however they're in critical condition and would be questioned the mont their health has improved. Your aunt is world renowned espionage agent Master Cole, I doubt there's a person in existence that can keep her from getting into any room or lock she wants to get into.
Of course I say this knowing that she has not had the pleasure of eting Cole Night, and not the one laying on the bed, but the demon that has dominated and terrorized the first four floors of Titan Rising Online's final event. The one that the universe knows as World Breaker.]
Not that it was working but Cole was feeling flattered. It was hard being in a good mood when he almost lost his life to soone who he felt had an equal start as him. But for all of his training and studies before the event, Cole could never possibly match up to his extrely dangerous aunt and all her accolades. But Morgan was right, she had struck while he slept, going after Cole Night the young master of a multi planetary conglorate, if she had gone after the Raen Lord that has slain dragons, undead, spirits and aliens…. There was no doubt about it, even with her ability to nullify skills, Cole would have broken her World.
