Chapter 1246: The Abyssal Dreadfin

Black-blue eyes snapped open, their pupils narrowing into vertical, predatory slits. A terrifying, boundless light erupted from within them.

The mutation wasn’t stopping. It was accelerating.

The body of the mirror avatar continued to expand, swelling as if the biological limits of the form had simply ceased to exist.

Orion, anchored within his body of faith, watched the grotesque spectacle unfold in silence. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to turn the tide; it was that he had passed the point of no return. The situation had spiraled beyond his control, and all he could do now was watch the crash.

His attention locked onto the data hovering in his peripheral vision, specifically the tooltip for the [Siren Regeneration] skill, trying to parse so kind of advantage from the text.

[Skill: Siren Regeneration]

Type: Augntation Scroll (Special)

Rarity: Legendary

Description: Dramatically amplifies the user’s self-healing factor. Provided the cranium and heart remain intact, any wound can be regenerated. Severed limbs and destroyed organs will be reconstructed rapidly.

Note 1: Regeneration consus vital life force. If the host’s vitality is insufficient or lacks an energy source, the healing efficacy will degrade.

Note 2: Bloodline Augntation. If the host’s vital functions drop to critical levels near death, there is a low probability of triggering a "Bloodline Deviation." Upon the host’s death, the vessel will fully convert into a Siren.

So, my mirror avatar is technically bricked?

That was Orion’s read on the situation. According to the fine print, the deviation only kicked in after the mirror avatar died.

But does the converted Siren body still count as my avatar? Or will a brand new consciousness spawn on top of my hardware?

Scarcely had the thought crossed his mind when the mirror avatar’s Sea of Consciousness began to churn. Great, violent waves rolled through the psychic landscape as a Siren slowly surfaced from the depths of his mindscape.

The mont the Siren appeared, the Sea of Consciousness—which had been on the verge of total collapse—began to repair itself at a breakneck pace.

Orion’s body of faith didn’t move. He didn’t imdiately nuke the newborn consciousness. He needed this thing to fix the avatar’s ntal architecture first. He needed it to regulate the chaotic energy flooding the body, to ensure the mutation hit its absolute peak potential.

Besides, Orion could tell the new entity was currently stuck in a spawn daze. It was acting on instinct, blindly repairing the vessel it now inhabited.

It was like a parasite treating the mirror avatar as a placenta, a fertile soil to nurture its own genesis.

Hidden within his body of faith, deep inside the mirror avatar, Orion felt the rules of biology dancing to a strange rhythm. It was a rare drop, this kind of experience—a front-row seat to the manifestation of life laws. You didn’t get to see this every day.

Orion fought down the urge to strike. He watched. He analyzed.

It was an indescribable sensation.

Inside the microcosm of the body, in a billion unseen corners, cells were igniting like birthing stars. After eons of simulated evolution and recombination, the cellular structures stabilized and began a frantic self-replication.

Life, finding its alpha build.

Then ca the expansion—complex structures folding into existence, functions coming online, the organism racing toward a higher state of being. To Orion, the process felt tiless, a blur of eons compressed into seconds. Evolution made a million mistakes and corrected them a million tis over in the span of a heartbeat.

The internal universe shifted from chaotic, barren entropy to a stable, constant state.

And then, a unique signature of life pulsed through the cosmos of the body.

Simultaneously, the mirror avatar’s Sea of Consciousness finished its repairs. The newborn consciousness, fully ford within the depths of the body, let out a soul-shaking roar.

WAAAGH.

That was the signal.

Orion’s Asura Titan Form responded instantly. His voice thundered through the Sea of Consciousness, drowning out the newborn’s cry.

Raising his trident and massive shield, the Asura Titan Form dissolved into a streak of light. He unleashed a barrage of crushing force, launching a catastrophic ambush the exact second the new consciousness fully awakened.

It was a cycle of creation and annihilation compressed into a single fra.

Orion’s timing was impeccable—pure spawn-camping. He smashed the new entity before it could even register that it was under attack.

The newborn consciousness was fragile as glass. Under the Titan’s assault, it shattered instantly into a million psychic shards.

The body of faith roared, suppressing the turbulence of the Sea of Consciousness while simultaneously beginning the harvest. He started to absorb and condense the fragnted consciousness.

Now began the tedious part: looting, repairing, building, and stitching it all back together.

Vigil’s Point, The Palace.

Deep underground, a heavy stone door stood sealed tight.

Delilah stood outside, her brow furrowed as she stared at the seamless masonry. She had followed Orion’s instructions to the letter, transforming the underground chamber into an artificial shallow sea. She’d even pulled strings to divert underground aquifers, flooding the entire space.

The room wasn’t technically underground; it was a repurposed Large Nest.

The Nest was essentially a pocket dinsion—a mustard seed capable of holding a mountain—but it was devoid of resources. Orion had bartered it from Leonidas originally to create a black-ops HQ for Delilah’s Sentinel Corps.

And now, Orion had ordered her to turn this valuable tactical asset into... an aquarium.

The command was so out of left field that Delilah couldn’t even begin to guess the logic behind it. She had no idea what was happening inside that dinsional space.

The only thing coming through the stone door was the muffled sound of terrifying, rhythmic roaring. It was enough to keep her on edge.

Silverwood Realm, Staghelm City.

Orion woke up in the palace at Staghelm City. The space beside him was cold; Moon Elf Isilra was already gone.

After the ceremony in Stoneheart, Orion’s main body had accompanied Isilra back here. The official wedding in Staghelm City was scheduled for seven days from now.

Isilra wasn’t just a bride; she was the true ruler of this city. Her wedding was massive news, shaking the foundations of the local political landscape and buzzing through the refugee populations sheltering within the walls.

Rumors were flying everywhere regarding the union and Orion himself. But beneath the gossip, there was mostly genuine relief and well-wishing.

Everyone knew the score. If it weren’t for Moon Elf Isilra and The Demigod of the Moonwell, their bloodlines would have been extinguished long ago.

Orion didn’t care about the public opinion polls, and neither did Isilra.

Right now, Isilra was at the Moonwell. With a new life growing inside her, she was undergoing a blessing ritual, soaking in the energies of The Demigod of the Moonwell. As she put it, a child blessed by the Moonwell would be born with a higher stat ceiling and greater potential.

Orion certainly wasn’t going to argue against min-maxing their kid before it was even born.

He lay there for a mont, staring blankly at the ornate ceiling of Isilra’s bedroom, testing the sound of a new na on his tongue.

"Abyssal Dreadfin?" he muttered.
