Zhou Shu watched Yueyao murmuring to herself. Her calm deanor stirred sothing in his heart. Unable to resist, he reached out to touch Yueyao’s glossy black hair.
Yueyao sensed the movent and imdiately stood up, causing Zhou Shu’s hand to miss its target. Yueyao rose to her feet and stared directly at Zhou Shu. From the mont Zhou Shu entered, Yueyao finally formally confronted him.
Zhou Shu saw the coldness reflected in Yueyao’s eyes, and his heart felt as if it was being pierced by needles: "Yueyao, I know you hate , but whether you hate or not, I will never let you go."
Yueyao had long expected this outco, yet upon hearing these words, fury surged within her. Just because he fancied her, he would ruin her.
Zhou Shu’s hand already touched Yueyao’s face as he softly called, "Yueyao..."
Yueyao, unable to endure it any longer, grabbed the chair she had been sitting on and hurled it at Zhou Shu. Yueyao didn’t expect to hit Zhou Shu, but she wanted him to know she was not a woman who would yield like a willow in the wind.
Zhou Shu caught one of the chair’s legs, rendering Yueyao immobile. He looked at Yueyao’s cold expression with shock. In his mind, Yueyao was akin to a banished immortal, transcendent above the mundane. Yet ever since entering the courtyard, Zhou Shu discovered Yueyao seed to have changed.
Zhou Shu found it difficult to speak: "You don’t need to be like this." Yueyao intentionally disfigured herself to provoke his disgust, and this feeling was deeply unpleasant.
Yueyao tried to keep her emotions stable, but she truly couldn’t calm herself now. This demon had ruined her past life and intended to ruin her again in this one. If she could, she genuinely wished to take his life.
Zhou Shu also sensed Yueyao’s intense murderous intent, and if her earlier actions were intentional, the killing intent now emanating from her was definitely heartfelt: "You want to kill ?" The last ti Yueyao escaped, the others said she had killed soone to break free, but he did not believe it. In his heart, Yueyao was like a fairy descended from the heavens, incapable of murder. But now, the look in Yueyao’s eyes seed as if she could devour him, causing Zhou Shu to doubt. Was the woman before him truly the one who made him obsess to madness?
Yueyao heard his words and imdiately lowered her head. She began reciting, "All beings are troubled, all troubles are sufferings. Suffering neither arises nor ceases, neither defiles nor purifies, neither increases nor decreases. Form arises from the formless, deficiency gives rise to fullness, fullness returns to deficiency. The state arises from the heart..."
Zhou Shu asked, "What are you reciting?" Upon entering earlier, he heard Yueyao muttering, and now she was doing it again. Is she possessed or sothing?
He really wanted to know what Yueyao was reciting.
Yueyao naturally wouldn’t answer Zhou Shu. Only by reciting the Calming Incantation could she maintain a semblance of peace. She knew Zhou Shu’s nature too well—if you confront him aggressively, he would be even more aggressive.
Zhou Shu was a bit annoyed; Yueyao hadn’t uttered a single word since he entered. He thought for a mont and said, "I’ve prepared many books for you, including several unique copies that I bought at a great expense. Do you like them?"
Yueyao said nothing.
Zhou Shu suddenly recalled Zi Lan’s words, saying that Yueyao did nothing but eat, sleep, and daydream, and perhaps had never visited the study or the painter’s studio.
Zhou Shu attempted to hold Yueyao’s hand to take her to the study and painter’s studio. As he touched her, Yueyao recoiled as though she’d been shocked, stepping back towards the door.
Zhou Shu noticed Yueyao’s guarded expression, and he stopped speaking further. He walked over and lifted Yueyao.
Yueyao was a very perceptive person. Seeing the situation, since they were already out of the bedroom, Yueyao felt a sense of relief and stopped resisting. Besides, resistance didn’t seem possible.
Zi Lan saw this and quickly pulled Zi Yi back to her room, while Ah San simply left the courtyard, leaving the area to their master.
Zi Yi whispered in a mosquito-like voice, "Sister, isn’t it said that Miss Maner was redeed by the young lord from a brothel? If he saved her from the fire pit, shouldn’t she be grateful to him? Why does she seem to hate him so much? Sothing’s not right here!" This Miss Maner was supposedly saved from a brothel by the young lord, and even if she wasn’t grateful, she should be working hard to win his favor for a better life. But now, with all this commotion, what exactly is she stirring up?
Brothels have all kinds of won—so seductive and beautiful, so charming and cute, so pure and harmless, and so sweet and endearing, as well as so graceful and dignified ones. Therefore, Zi Yi hadn’t considered that Yueyao wasn’t actually from a brothel.
