Since learning of Yueyao’s disappearance, Mingzhu has lost her appetite and is plagued with nightmares at night. On this particular night, Mingzhu had another nightmare, dreaming that Yueyao had committed suicide.

Upon waking, Mingzhu clung to Niu Yanghui, sobbing, "Husband, what should we do? I dreamt that Yueyao died. I dreamt that she couldn’t bear the sha and took her own life." With Yueyao’s proud and aloof personality, she wouldn’t be able to endure such humiliation; she would certainly seek a way out.

Mingzhu knows the gravity of the situation, so she hasn’t uttered a word. However, she couldn’t keep it from her closest companion, and Niu Yanghui found out about it the day after the incident.

Niu Yanghui looked at the increasingly haggard Mingzhu, feeling heartbroken. He wiped her tears and gently comforted her, saying, "Didn’t Elder Brother say he’d sent people to search for Little Sister? Mingzhu, Elder Brother will surely bring her back, so don’t worry." If he could help, he would do his utmost, but sadly, he didn’t even know who took Yueyao, so how could he help?

Mingzhu cried grievously, "Husband, I believe Brother can bring Yueyao back, but I’m afraid she won’t be able to think it through! Husband, you know Yueyao’s temperant. Husband, how could this have happened? Why is Yueyao’s fate so bitter?"

Even though Niu Yanghui wasn’t superstitious, he felt Yueyao’s fate wasn’t good. She had already experienced hardships before, and now that she had finally arranged a marriage, right when she was about to wed, such an inexplicable thing happened. Niu Yanghui had never seen soone so unlucky before.

After coaxing Mingzhu for quite so ti, Niu Yanghui finally cald her down. Seeing the unrestful expression on his wife’s face as she slept, he realized this couldn’t continue. Otherwise, her health would collapse.

Mingzhu was deeply worried about Yueyao, and Xiang Wei was equally concerned. Almost frequently, Xiang Wei would ask, "Bai Yi, is there any news of the young lady?" Due to her health, Xiang Wei couldn’t go to Zhaohua Temple, so Bai Yi arranged for her to recuperate at the hot spring manor.

Bai Yi, knowing Xiang Wei’s nature, didn’t hide anything from her and directly said, "We’ve found out; the young lady was abducted to Haikou, but the trail ends there. Haikou is so vast, finding her won’t be easy."

Xiang Wei’s expression changed, "If Zhou Shu has taken her away from Haikou, it will be even harder to find her." This was the worst-case scenario.

Bai Yi sighed slightly, "The Marquis also suspects this. However, without a major incident, it’s impossible to close off Haikou and prevent ships from leaving. You can’t just shut down the port based on one suspicion. Closing the port for a day harms many livelihoods."

Xiang Wei’s face looked quite grim.

To ease Xiang Wei’s mind, Bai Yi said, "Xiang Wei, speaking of which, Miss Yueyao has a good eye. An Zhichen didn’t retreat after learning about this. He’s currently in Haikou."

Xiang Wei was not relieved, "We’ll talk about this later; the key now is to rescue the young lady." Since she was abducted, her purity is at risk. Xiang Wei doesn’t believe An Zhichen is so magnanimous, but for him to do this is comndable, and no one can bla him.

Bai Yi nodded once.

At this mont, an anxious maid hurried over, saying, "Young lady, a letter from Capital City." Ever since Xiang Wei fell ill, Bai Yi had been by her side, tending to her.

After reading the letter, Bai Yi’s face also showed anxiety, "Xiang Wei, I need to make a trip to the Capital City." Unexpectedly, this matter left such a severe aftermath for his master.

Xiang Wei thought it was about Yueyao, "Whatever the matter, do not keep it from , whether good or bad." Only by knowing the exact information can the best strategy be implented.

Bai Yi explained to Xiang Wei, "The young lady has been having nightmares daily recently, dreaming that sothing happened to Miss Yueyao. The Eldest Young Master had no choice but to ask for my help."

Xiang Wei reflected deeply for a long ti before saying, "Bai Yi, the young lady won’t commit suicide, but I do worry she might decide to beco a nun. I know Yueyao cherishes life; even if her purity is compromised, she wouldn’t take her own life. Yueyao aspires to be soone like Mr. Yu Shan, and compromised purity doesn’t conflict with becoming a renowned Great Painter, so she surely wouldn’t commit suicide. However, after this ordeal, she might feel despondent and decide to enter the monastic life."

Indeed, to be precise, the young lady has always had the thought of becoming a nun. This incident only gave her more reason to do so. Xiang Wei thought it was truly a headache; it was difficult enough to persuade Yueyao to be willing to marry, and now with this happening, persuading her again wouldn’t be easy.
