Yueyao was sowhat puzzled inside, wondering why such a skilled person would be available to her, but now was not the ti to ask these questions. She inquired about the man’s terms: “I am considering hiring you as a guard for my younger brother, you can state any terms you have now.”
The man was taken aback by Yueyao’s amiable approach and pondered for a while, unsure of what conditions to set. Yueyao turned to Bai Yi and asked, “How much was his monthly salary at the Marquis’ household, and what else would he receive besides that?”
Bai Yi wasn’t very sure and said to the man, “You tell us.”
The man then said, “In the Marquis’ household, the monthly allowance of silver was twelve taels, plus two sets of clothes every season, nothing more.”
Yueyao genuinely felt that the guard’s monthly allowance of silver was low. She suddenly asked, “You must be married with children, right?” It would be even better if he had a family, so she wouldn’t worry about him leaving. After all, as long as he stayed by Tingzheng’s side, his inco would be stable.
The man nodded: “I have a wife and children.”

Bai ng responded with a cold sneer, “Don’t worry. Since the master has given to you, I am yours. Unless you drive away, I won’t leave you.”
Yueyao gave Bai ng a glance before saying, “I feel like you’re not just an ordinary person. Can you assure that after coming to my side, you won’t have any connection with your past and won’t cause any trouble?”
Bai ng shivered, as she initially looked down on the task of protecting a young girl, but hadn’t expected this girl to be so sharp, “Don’t worry. I am now rely your maid, a maid that protects you.” Although Bai ng wasn’t a Hidden Guard, she had been diligently trained by the marquis’ household. Bai ng was stunned for a long mont before she said, “My forr na was Xiang Wei.” She had never thought that a day would co when she would use her real na again. Perhaps being by this child’s side might not be such a bad thing after all.
