Yueyao couldn’t sleep again at night, put on a coat and walked into the courtyard. Tonight there was no moon, nor any wandering clouds; the ink-blue sky seed to have been washed clean. The stars twinkled overhead, as dazzling as jewels.

Next day, Yueyao asked Tingzheng to stay and protect the three children, she took Xiang Wei and Gu You and others to Zhaohua Temple.

Yueyao went directly to see the old Abbot, then went to the main hall to pay respects to Buddha and the Bodhisattvas. After worshiping the Bodhisattvas, it was already lunchti.
After having lunch, Yueyao said: “Let’s go to the mountain for a walk!” Since returning from Jiangnan to Capital City, Yueyao had visited Zhaohua Temple once, but that ti she ca to donate scriptures she had copied. Because of many household affairs, she hadn’t had ti to stroll around inside Zhaohua Temple.
Xiang Wei did not stop her.
As Yueyao walked, she looked at the scenery. The scenery remained unchanged, but the people were utterly different.
Xiang Wei saw Yueyao spacing out again, sighed slightly, and said: “It’s windy here, shall we go back?” She didn’t know how many tis Madam had spaced out recently.
