The banquet invitations were quickly sent out by Yueyao.

The Lin Family received the news promptly, and when they heard that everyone had received invitations except them, Lady Lin felt uneasy and hurriedly sent soone to inquire with Madam Lin.

Lin Qinghan heard that her family hadn’t received invitations either, but she didn’t think much of it: "I haven’t received an invitation either, Mother, don’t worry, it might be delivered later."

Madam Lin was optimistic, believing that Yueyao wouldn’t exclude her from sending an invitation. However, Lady Lin felt differently; after hearing Lin Qinghan’s words, she sensed danger. She imdiately spoke to Old Master Lin: "Isn’t there sothing amiss here? Madam Lian has already indicated she’s not pursuing this matter, but now suddenly the invitations have stopped; whose idea is this? If it’s An Zhichen’s idea, this could be a serious issue. An Zhichen is currently in high favor with the Emperor, offending him wouldn’t be good."

Old Master Lin frowned and said: "Are you sure it’s not Madam Lian’s idea?" Old Master Lin believed that An Zhichen wouldn’t cause problems with Qinghan and their family over a minor issue.

Madam Lin shook her head and said: "It should not be. Qinghan even took her granddaughter to the An Family during the New Year! If they were going to act, it shouldn’t be at this ti."

Old Master Lin thought for a mont and then said: "I’ll find an opportunity to ask Lord An."

Xiang Wei knew that the invitations weren’t sent to the Lin Family and Madam Lin, and she imdiately understood this was certainly not Yueyao’s idea. With Yueyao’s cautious nature, she wouldn’t leave things so unresolved. Xiang Wei pondered for a long ti but finally decided to seek out An Zhichen.

Yueyao spoke to An Zhichen only about the red coral tree, without delving into much else. However, after hearing Xiang Wei recount what Madam Lin had done, anger appeared on An Zhichen’s face: "You an Madam Lin spread rumors to slander Yueyao?"

Xiang Wei nodded: "Not only that, Madam Lin also blad Lady Lin for her inability to have more children." Xiang Wei felt Yueyao was too lenient with Madam Lin, and Xiang Wei knew that Yueyao wasn’t soone who would act harshly. Even after making a decision, when Tingzheng cried and pleaded, Yueyao was likely to soften again. She didn’t want this matter to be interrupted halfway due to Yueyao’s softness.

An Zhichen’s anger was uncontrollable, and after a long pause, he finally said: "You don’t need to worry about this matter, I’ll handle it."

Xiang Wei nodded with a smile: "Alright."

The next day, Yueyao noticed An Zhichen return with a smile on his face, imdiately realizing there was good news.

An Zhichen smiled and said: "The Marquis recomnded to be the leader of the Imperial Guards, and the Emperor has already approved it." Being the leader of the Imperial Guards is a crucial position, and the Emperor’s approval indicated his trust.

Yueyao was stunned: "Why would the Marquis recomnd you for the position of the leader of the Imperial Guards?" If it were before, Yueyao might have worried about the implications, but now that the Crown Prince has been decided, especially since An Zhichen said the Ninth Prince is a shrewd and capable man with his own plans, and the Seventh Prince poses no threat, Yueyao wasn’t concerned.

An Zhichen replied with a smile: "The Marquis must have his reasons for doing so. By the way, the military affairs in Haikou are progressing smoothly, and it looks like it will be over in two months." If it weren’t for the delay caused by the war in the Northwest and the drought in Jiangnan, those few useless troops would have been dealt with long ago.

With the matters Xiang Wei ntioned, An Zhichen’s mind was made up, if Madam Lin didn’t agree to divorce, Tingzheng would dismiss her.

Yueyao was naturally happy that Tingzheng could return, but when she thought of what might happen upon his return, Yueyao felt so headaches. After discussing with An Zhichen about her desire for Tingzheng to divorce Madam Lin, Yueyao hesitated again, knowing it’s often said that it’s better to destroy ten temples than to break one marriage, thinking her actions might be cruel.

An Zhichen found it amusing and frustrating: "You don’t need to intervene in this matter, I’ll handle it properly." Once a decision is made, it should be executed fully—leaving things half-done can cause endless troubles.

Yueyao worriedly said: "What if Tingzheng refuses to agree?" Tingzheng likes Madam Lin so much, divorcing her might be hard to achieve.

An Zhichen snorted coldly and said: "If he doesn’t agree, then you are not allowed to interfere in his affairs anymore, and the two families shouldn’t associate with each other moving forward." The way Madam Lin turned out, Yueyao should bear so responsibility, but the biggest accountability lies with Tingzheng. Madam Lin repeatedly caused trouble, yet Tingzheng didn’t manage her well, letting her run unchecked. A man who can’t even manage his own wife properly won’t achieve much in the future.
