Capítulo 1142: Chapter 492: A Plea

Yuehuan leaned against the wall, having just closed her eyes, when she heard the sound of unlocking outside again. Yuehuan quickly opened her eyes and looked outside nervously. For the past ten days, the prison guards would only co by during the day to deliver food, and were nowhere to be seen at other tis.

This ti, the prison guard ca to take all the maids imprisoned in the prison out to be sold. Therefore, Xin Yu could not escape this fate either.

Yuehuan knew that the situation had already been decided: “Official Master, has there been a conclusion to our matter?” From the looks of it, it was clear that the outco wasn’t favorable.

If others had asked, these prison guards would surely ignore them, but Yuehuan was different—she was soone with backing. The questioned guard replied: “The Emperor has already issued a decree; everyone in the Qian Family, regardless of gender or age, all the living are to be exiled to the Northwest.”

The Eldest Lady Qian and Second Madam Qian fainted on the spot, and all the other won burst into tears. Xin Yu, however, clung to Yuehuan’s arm, unwilling to leave.

The prison guard glanced at Yuehuan, whose face was sared like a flower cat, and sneered: “Don’t refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit. If you don’t co out soon, don’t bla for being harsh.” The only reason this maid had been spared these days was because Yuehuan had fiercely protected her. But the orders from above had only stated not to touch Lian Yuehuan, and this maid was not included. Now, with instructions to sell all these won, they certainly wouldn’t fudge the task for the sake of one maid.

Yuehuan, facing her own troubles, couldn’t protect Xin Yu anymore: “I won’t be in danger. But you, make sure you take good care of yourself.” These days, Yuehuan kept pondering about who might be supporting her from behind. After much thought, the only person she could think of was the cold-faced but warm-hearted Yueyao. Other than Yueyao, she couldn’t think of anyone else. Since Yueyao could help her, she surely wouldn’t leave her unattended now.

Xin Yu also knew she couldn’t evade this ti: “Young Lady, you must take care.” She understood clearly that for the past ten days, she had been shielded by the Young Lady; otherwise, she would have been mistreated by those prison guards long ago. To endure until now, she already felt content. As for what might happen after going out, Xin Yu hadn’t thought much. No matter how bad things get, could it be worse than here?

The prison guard took away the maids and several maternal aunties, leaving only a few masters of the Qian Family in the prison. At this mont, everyone was still imrsed in the fear of being exiled; they had no mind to care about the maids being taken away.

Tingyuan scattered all two hundred taels of silver just to soften the head’s stance to let him in to visit Yuehuan and the others. Tingyuan also offered the food box he brought to several prison guards, carrying only a bundle as he followed a guard into the prison. As he reached the cell door, he slled a choking odor. Tingyuan held back the unpleasant sll, walking through the corridor, the eerie atmosphere of the prison sending a chill down his spine.

Tingyuan’s nose tingled when he saw Yuehuan, calling softly: “Sister.” It had only been half a month since he last saw her, and she had beco thin as a bag of bones.

Yuehuan’s eyes lit up when she saw Tingyuan; seeing him was like seeing hope: “Tingyuan, did you co to rescue out of here?”

Tingyuan’s expression stiffened, he forced a smile: “Sister, I brought you so clothes.” Originally, Tingyuan brought a big woolen garnt and cotton clothes and pants. However, the big woolen garnt was intercepted by the head, at least the cotton clothes and pants were brought over.

Yuehuan’s heart chilled; Tingyuan did not directly answer her, which ant the Lian family was not planning to rescue her. Yuehuan had ntally prepared for this, but still couldn’t help feeling disheartened. Since marrying into the Qian Family, the Lian family had gained many benefits, but now they were indifferent to her fate.

Yuehuan did not vent her anger on Tingyuan, who was still studying; he didn’t have connections, nor did he have much money, rely being able to visit her was already comndable: “Tingyuan, give those cotton clothes to Chenghong.” It was fortunate Qian Tu had given his clothes to Chenghong; otherwise, Chenghong wouldn’t have lasted. The Qian family’s Third Young Master, the Second Grandma Qian’s biological son, was frozen and fevered, eventually could not be saved, and passed away.

Looking at her emaciated nephew, Tingyuan couldn’t hold back his tears any longer. He wiped away his tears, handed the bundle to Yuehuan, then gave the leather coat he was wearing to Chenghong.

Leaving the prison, the guard said to Tingyuan: “You’ll definitely end up bedridden for a month going out like this.” In such cold weather, missing a warm garnt, how could it not lead to illness?

Tingyuan wasn’t afraid of catching a cold, though he thought his sister would leave for the Northwest in just a few days, he surely needed to go see her off then. However, Tingyuan didn’t beg the guard, instead, he had his retainer Chang’an put his coat on him, and as soon as he got out of the prison, he imdiately climbed into the carriage.
