Once Maternal Aunt Liu recovered, the first thing she did was go to Yuhua Alley, not just by herself, but she also took An Ning along.

An Ning had been taking care of Maternal Aunt Liu during her illness. Hearing that Maternal Aunt Liu wanted to visit Yueyao, she was reluctant: "Mother, I’m not going, you go ahead!"

However, Maternal Aunt Liu insisted on taking An Ning along.

When Yueyao heard they were coming, she understood: "Let them in!"

Maternal Aunt Liu looked at Yueyao, who was leaning against the headboard, her feelings were complex. Initially, she, like others, thought An Zhichen had found an ethereal, untouchable talented lady. But when she tried to infiltrate soone into their lives, she realized Yueyao was not what she had imagined.

An Ning never liked Yueyao and still doesn’t. The shift in identity made her unwilling to face Yueyao.

Yueyao spoke courteously: "I wonder what brings Cousin and Maternal Aunt Liu here?" Yueyao deliberately called her cousin to remind them that An Zhichen had already been adopted out and had no direct connection with them anymore. Of course, if An Zhichen were always close to Maternal Aunt Liu and An Ning, even if adopted out, it would rely be a change of address. But now it’s different. An Zhichen is extrely averse to Maternal Aunt Liu, and she doesn’t want to be too amiable; this matter still depends on her husband’s decision.

An Ning’s face stiffened, but Maternal Aunt Liu remained calm: "Madam, it’s said that the Eldest Miss looks very much like , and I wanted to see for myself."

Yueyao paused: "The child is asleep, Maternal Auntie, if you want to see her, perhaps another ti!" For so reason, Yueyao didn’t want Maternal Aunt Liu to see the child.

An Ning looked unhappy, but she understood that now was not the ti to act rashly.

Maternal Aunt Liu was not surprised by Yueyao’s response, she softly said: "Madam, I just wish to catch a glimpse of the child, nothing more."

Yueyao shook her head: "This is not sothing I can decide. If Maternal Auntie wants to see the child, perhaps another ti!" In reality, the "another ti" ant she wanted to ask An Zhichen first.

Maternal Aunt Liu understood Yueyao’s intentions: "Then I shall be a bother."

Yueyao quickly grasped the aning behind Maternal Aunt Liu’s words. Having not seen the child, Maternal Aunt Liu decided not to leave and would wait for An Zhichen to return before departing.

Xi Yu entered the room with a disgruntled expression, snorted coldly and remarked: "What kind of person is this, impossible to shoo away." If it weren’t for certain considerations, she would have definitely chased them away with harsh words.

Yueyao didn’t anticipate that Maternal Aunt Liu would actually refuse to leave the residence: "Please have the Chief Steward inform Master about this situation." This matter should be decided by An Zhichen himself!

An Ning grew impatient waiting in the living room: "Mother, let’s go back!" Never before had An Ning been treated so coldly. Yueyao’s indifferent attitude left her feeling utterly humiliated.

Maternal Aunt Liu sighed softly: "Your future path is long, lacking patience like this, how will you cope in the future?" All these years she focused on her son, neglecting her daughter, not realizing Lady Fang took advantage, teaching her daughter to be like this. Reflecting now, despite considering herself clever, she had always been manipulated by Lady Fang, leading to the current state where her son no longer acknowledges her and her daughter is considered a fool.

Whenever Maternal Aunt Liu began to speak, An Ning maintained her silence.

An Zhichen returned at his usual ti and first went to see Yueyao and their daughter. Yueyao, seeing he was reluctant to see Maternal Aunt Liu and An Ning, gently said: "Go see what Maternal Auntie wants; if you don’t go now, she’ll return in a few days, repeating this isn’t good." Clearly, Maternal Aunt Liu is determined not to stop until her goal is achieved.

When An Zhichen reached the living room, he looked at Maternal Aunt Liu and An Ning, and asked: "You ca to see , what do you want? If there’s nothing, do not co back in the future." He had no desire to see Maternal Aunt Liu, not in the slightest. Before him stands the woman who bore him, yet also repeatedly sought to put him to death.

Maternal Aunt Liu gazed unblinkingly at An Zhichen as he entered. Dressed in a white floral brocade robe with a deep blue jade belt and a horn buckle at his waist, his build was robust, his eyes sharp and piercing. Tears brimd in Maternal Aunt Liu’s eyes. This was her son, the child she bore for ten months.

Hearing this, An Ning felt a surge of anger: "Third Brother, how can you speak to Mother like that?"

An Zhichen replied coldly: "Regardless of my being adopted or not, my mother is only one, the legitimate wife of Marquis Weiyuan."

Maternal Aunt Liu’s face turned pale.

An Ning, furious, said: "Third Brother, Mother bore you for ten months, even if she did many wrongs, it was all due to Lady Fang’s sches, not her fault. Do you know? When Mother found out the truth, she nearly fell ill and died; how can you be so heartless?"
