Yueyao thought Xiang Wei’s words made sense, so she let Tingzheng go.

Tingzheng thought the matter was over, but did not expect that his brother-in-law, An Zhichen, also inquired about his marriage: "Your sister wants to arrange a marriage for you because she hopes you’ll settle down soon."

Tingzheng nodded, indicating that he understood.

An Zhichen was quite pleased with Tingzheng’s attitude: "In the Imperial Forest Army, most are sons of military aristocratic families. As long as you gain their recognition, you won’t need to worry about your marriage." An Zhichen implied that these families surely have eligible maidens, and if Tingzheng could prove himself as promising, they’d naturally propose marriage.

Tingzheng understood An Zhichen’s implication: "Brother-in-law, don’t worry, I will do my best." An Zhichen’s kindness was beyond words. He kept this favor in his heart.

An Zhichen easily saw through Tingzheng’s thoughts and said with a smile: "Hmm, if there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to ask ." Everything that needed to be advised was advised, so there would naturally be no isses.

Tingzheng replied: "Okay."

Yueyao didn’t linger either,

Zhuang Ruolan, having received Yueyao’s ssage, breathed a sigh of relief and said: "That’s good." She realized that Madam Zhang Yue was a very calculating girl, and people like that aren’t really likable.

Yueyao was able to relay Tingzheng’s words faithfully to Zhuang Ruolan, but Zhuang Ruolan couldn’t tell this to the Zhang family, so she spoke quite tactfully.

Upon hearing this news, the Third Lady of the Zhang Family wasn’t disappointed. Because after Madam Zhang Yue returned, she had already told her that this marriage wouldn’t happen. Now getting a definite answer, she was not sad, though a little disappointed.

Madam Zhang Yue initially didn’t have high hopes. She suggested eting Tingzheng to avoid the regret of not seeing him. Seeing Third Lady Zhang’s hesitant expression, she said: "Mother, I’m fine."

The Third Lady Zhang gently said: "Daughter, don’t worry. If they don’t see your worth, it’s their loss. You’ll find soone better than Young Master Lian in the future."

Madam Zhang Yue smiled and said: "Mother, there’s no need to compare. The Young Master Lian is actually quite good, but just not destined for ."

The Third Lady Zhang, seeing her daughter’s true indifference, felt much more at ease. The first ti, Madam Zhang Yue fell seriously ill, and the second ti, she returned and said nothing for a day, which had frightened her.

Seeing her mother’s expression, Madam Zhang Yue felt a pang in her heart and said: "Mother, don’t worry about . The past incidents were due to my own heart. I won’t make you worry again in the future."

Madam Zhang Yue didn’t expect that when she t Tingzheng, his attitude was just as gentle as the first ti. He quietly listened to her explanation. Tingzheng accepted her explanation and even asked if she had been hurt in so way, wondering why she always seed burdened.

Tingzheng, with his outstanding appearance and sincere, gentle deanor, easily garnered a favorable impression. Madam Zhang Yue, not knowing why, ended up sharing her experiences with him.

After speaking, she felt utterly bewildered, but was surprised that Tingzheng didn’t mock her. Instead, he shared stories from his own childhood to console her, saying that no one is perfect and everyone has shortcomings here or there. One shouldn’t feel inferior or give up because of their inadequacies.

After offering his advice, Tingzheng expressed that he currently just wanted to work well and didn’t want to consider marriage. Of course, anyone with sense would understand that Tingzheng was politely declining.

Although Madam Zhang Yue felt a bit downhearted, she had no complaints. Initially, it was her own fault. Not only had the person agreed to see her, but he also used his own experiences to guide her, for which she felt very grateful. As for the broken engagent, it was simply not her fortune.

The Third Lady Zhang was overjoyed to see that her daughter seed truly liberated. The past two years had indeed worried her to death.

The Zhang family’s attitude surprised Yueyao. She thought the two families, even if not enemies, would harbor grievances. Yet, she didn’t expect the Zhang family to send a generous gift over.

Tingzheng was no longer at the Primus Battalion and was preparing to join the Imperial Forest Army these days, so he had been at ho. In the evening, Yueyao took hold of Tingzheng and asked him for the reason.

Xiang Wei sat on the side, ready to listen in.

Tingzheng, feeling a little embarrassed, didn’t hide it from Yueyao when she asked: "I told the young lady from the Zhang family that I was quite dumb when I was young. Things others could morize in three tis, I couldn’t rember even in thirty. But my sister told that diligence reaps rewards, so as long as I kept striving, even if I couldn’t enter scholarly ranks in the future, it wouldn’t matter. So all these years I’ve never stopped studying hard."

Xiang Wei found Tingzheng quite interesting: "And then?"

Tingzheng, still sowhat embarrassed, said: "I told her not to invalidate herself for her shortcomings. No one is perfect, and self-abandonnt would only make those who love her sad. Those who mock or ridicule her wouldn’t lose a penny."

Xiang Wei laughed heartily: "Not bad, not bad, really good." Xiang Wei hadn’t realized that Tingzheng had such a charming side.

Yueyao hadn’t expected Tingzheng to have such eloquence.

Xiang Wei proudly said: "Tingzheng must have truly inherited my wisdom."

Yueyao actually wanted to quip that if Xiang Wei’s mouth was capable of such words, the sun must be rising from the west.

Tingzheng smoothly transitioned to working in the Imperial Forest Army. Once this news spread, the number of people proposing marriage nearly broke down the door.

Upon hearing this, the Third Lady Zhang felt a bit regretful. While Madam Zhang Yue also found it a pity, since it was missed, feeling regretful was useless.

Yueyao was curious: "Why is Tingzheng working in the Imperial Forest Army so desirable?" Previously, there were also many marriage proposals, but not this many.

Xiang Wei chuckled lightly: "Even with connections and background, not everyone can enter the Imperial Forest Army. Having this chance through connections doesn’t an anything if you can’t pass the assessnt." Those who erged from the Imperial Forest Army generally had good career paths. Yet the multitude of proposals wasn’t just because of this. These people noticed that An Zhichen was willing to put effort into Tingzheng’s future. An Zhichen was favored by Marquis Jingning, and his future was boundless. With An Zhichen cultivating Tingzheng, his future would certainly be promising.

Yueyao thought for a mont before saying: "I’m currently pregnant and don’t have the energy. Let’s talk about this later!" Yueyao wasn’t actually exhausted; she was just worried about another situation like the Zhang family, which she wouldn’t be able to handle.

Xiang Wei simply smiled.
