Chapter 400: Chapter 400: Where This Princess Goes Is None of the Crown Prince’s Business

Qi Yu watched as Yin Wanning’s figure disappeared from view, turned her head, and said to Li Mingjue, “I guess she will definitely et the Tulan Crown Prince at the hunting grounds.”

I reckon there will be a clichéd scene of a hero saving a damsel in distress.

After all, that’s how it’s always written in the storybooks.

“Cang Ming doesn’t seem like a good person; he must have planned everything in advance. Otherwise, the Noble Consort wouldn’t have brought up this matter without reason. These two are clearly of the sa ilk!” Qi Yu rembered the Noble Consort’s smug expression, and she couldn’t help but furrow her brows.

Seeing her getting more and more angry, Li Mingjue slightly curved his lips and suggested, “If you’re worried, why not go and have a look?”

Although it seems that every step is within the plans of Cang Ming and the Noble Consort.

But he always had a premonition that the course of events would surprise everyone.

Qi Yu had been waiting for him to say this. Upon hearing it, her eyes lit up, and she imdiately nodded and said, “Good!”

After speaking, she ran directly to the stables and carefully selected a glossy-coated steed.

Qi Yu stroked the horse’s head. Although she knew the horse couldn’t see her, she still leaned close to its erect ears and whispered a few words, hoping it wouldn’t throw her off later.

Li Mingjue watched her actions with amusent, lifted his hand to grab the reins, and said to Qi Yu, “Get on the horse first.”

Qi Yu nodded and leapt onto the horse’s back.

Afterward, Li Mingjue also mounted the horse, embraced her slender body in his arms, took hold of the reins, and spurred the horse into a gallop.

The two of them sped across the vast hunting grounds, with only the whistling wind in their ears.

Qi Yu had not ridden a horse for a long ti, especially since she had entered Ghost City, where her days were either spent hiding in her space or dealing with various strange people.

There were seldom monts as exhilarating as this.

A radiant smile spread across her face, her long hair blowing in the wind, tangling with the person behind her.

Despite being an extrely beautiful scene, it took on a different aning in the eyes of others.

On the hunting grounds, the people couldn’t see the man and woman embracing each other on the horseback; they only saw a steed charging towards them.

“Has this horse been startled by sothing?” In the hunting grounds, people dodged the rapidly approaching steed, wondering aloud.

Yin Wanning heard the noise, looked back, and her brow furrowed slightly.

She couldn’t shake the feeling that there was soone on the horse.

Realizing this thought, she fiercely pinched her brow and gripped her longbow tighter.

Lately, she often felt as if soone was watching her.

It was as if soone was lurking near her, staring directly at her.

But every ti she turned around, there was no one in sight.

“Princess, what’s wrong?” Zhao Hen handed the ga he had just hunted to an adjutant and walked a few steps closer to her.

Yin Wanning shook her head, “It’s nothing.”

After speaking, she glanced again at the full bag of ga held by the adjutant and smiled, “General Zhao is going to be the top hunter again this year.”

As the general with the most battle victories in Luoyue Country, Zhao Hen was always the one who hunted the most every year.

Wherever he was, others would also wisely stay away.

Hunting with Zhao Hen was simply making a fool of oneself.

But this year, things had changed a bit.

After Cang Ming entered the hunting grounds, he swiftly hunted down quite a few animals with his outstanding prowess.

Even against Zhao Hen, he would not back down and even managed to hunt a wild boar before Zhao Hen could.

This stunned everyone else, and also made them worry for Zhao Hen.

If this year’s autumn hunt were to be won by a crown prince from Tulan, where would Luoyue Country’s face be?

All this heavy burden was on Zhao Hen’s shoulders.

His eyes slightly frowned, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he said to Yin Wanning, “The hunting ground is fraught with dangers, Princess. It’s best to be cautious.”

It was Yin Wanning’s first ti entering the hunting ground so openly, and the novelty and excitent had not yet worn off. At his words, she just smiled and said, “Thank you for your concern, General.”

Having said this, she tugged at the reins and rode off in another direction.

Zhao Hen watched her back with a worried look, and after a long while, he pursed his lips and continued hunting.

“General Zhao seems to be paying too much attention to the Princess,” Qi Yu said as she observed the scene, a gossip-hungry tone creeping into her voice, her excitent palpable.

This developnt was becoming more like the kind found only in storybooks.

Li Mingjue chuckled lightly, “After we return, the Princess can write a storybook herself.”

At these words, Qi Yu’s eyes lit up, thinking she had found another moneymaking venture.

But then she rembered her own terrible handwriting and the corner of her mouth twitched, “Forget it, I don’t want to compete with Yuan Huan in business.”

The two dismounted, avoiding the hunting area, and walked around the hunting ground.

Autumn winds rustled, causing their long hair and robes to flutter.

The woods rustled, and colorful leaves fell with the wind like a multi-colored rain.

Looking at the refreshing scene, Qi Yu took a deep breath.

The best thing about the hunting ground was that it allowed those who had always stayed in the deep palace to see so different scenery.

With the warm autumn sun shining on them, Qi Yu lazily stretched her limbs and, in doing so, yawned.

The weather was so nice that it made her feel sleepy.

But the next second, she was wide awake.

Because she saw two familiar figures dressed in black and red standing not far in front of her.

Yin Wanning had not expected to encounter Cang Ming here.

Just now, she had chased a hare to this spot but had yet to shoot the arrow in her hand when soone ca into view.

“Princess,” Cang Ming said, putting away his bow and arrow and nodding to her.

Yin Wanning pursed her lips. Although she wasn’t keen on interacting with him, she still politely greeted him, “Crown Prince.”

Qi Yu, not far from them, saw their behavior and especially their formal greetings, and couldn’t help but chuckle.

The laughter quickly dissipated in the wind, though Yin Wanning sharply turned her head, her gaze fixed on Qi Yu.

Qi Yu was startled, thinking she had been spotted.

But soon enough, Yin Wanning withdrew her gaze, turning away as if nothing had happened.

That was close, almost got caught.

Qi Yu patted her chest, feeling like she had narrowly escaped a disaster.

Yin Wanning held the long bow in one hand and pulled the reins with the other as she slowly walked forward.

Just as she was about to pass Cang Ming, her arm was suddenly grabbed by him.

Yin Wanning frowned and looked down to see Cang Ming holding her hand, struggling to free herself.

Cang Ming let go imdiately, his expression unchanged and his gaze warmly fixed on her profile as he warned, “There’s a cliff ahead.”

Yin Wanning pursed her lips and said coldly, “Where I, the Princess, choose to go is none of the Crown Prince’s concern.”

With that, she urged her horse forward.

Behind her, the intensity in Cang Ming’s gaze faded slightly.

He took a few steps forward with his back to Yin Wanning, then suddenly stopped, turned around, and chased after the red-clad figure.
