27: Chapter 27 The Princess Wants Her to Apologize to 27: Chapter 27 The Princess Wants Her to Apologize to Qi Yu noticed his complexion was off and quickly leaned over to take a look.

The invitation clearly read that the Duke’s wife invited the Princess of Prince Qiu Residence to co over for a gathering.

She subconsciously furrowed her brows, wondering why the Duke’s wife would invite her without any apparent reason.

Li Mingjue casually tossed the invitation aside and said sharply, “The people of the Duke Residence appear neutral and self-preserving on the surface, but they have secretly ford an alliance with Li Ming’an long ago.”

Qi Yu nodded knowingly, “No wonder the Duke’s wife suddenly sent over the invitation.

It seems that yesterday’s assassination attempt failed, and His Highness Prince Anran couldn’t sit still anymore.”

After analyzing the situation, she calmly took a sip of tea, her expression unchanged.

The worrying expression appeared on Advisor Li’s face as he heard this, “Perhaps the Princess should feign illness and not go.”

“Right now, the Prince is in good health, and soone in the court might be harbouring ulterior motives, intentionally targeting the Princess.”

Li Mingjue felt the sa and looked at Qi Yu, who seed to have figured out how to counterattack, a trace of helplessness crossed his eyes as he reminded her, “This Duke’s wife is formidable.

She manages all affairs of the Duke Residence, big and small, and so far, no one has been able to find any faults.”

Qi Yu thought to herself, having watched hundreds of episodes of palace dramas, how could she not know what kind of people they were?

However, even the most flawless people could be broken by a fool, and it remained unknown who would actually crumble.

She slightly raised her eyebrows and smiled at Li Mingjue, “You can hide on the first day but not on the fifteenth, these were the Prince’s words to , how could you forget so quickly?”

Since these people were intent on targeting her, hiding in the shadows was not a long-term plan.

Better to probe and see for herself; she might even discover so unexpected surprises.

Li Mingjue knew she was determined to go and could only send a few more maids to accompany her.

Qi Yu changed her outfit, bringing along Shen Nanxing and Chunlan, who disguised as maids, and headed to the Duke Residence.

Before leaving, Li Mingjue still couldn’t help but repeatedly instruct her, “If anything happens, find soone to send a ssage back to the Prince Residence right away, and don’t confront the situation alone.”

Qi Yu waved her hand, “I know.”

How did she feel that Li Mingjue had beco increasingly talkative, what happened to that aloof Prince Qiu who hardly spoke a word?

Watching the carriage gradually disappear from sight, Li Mingjue’s expression instantly turned cold.

He ordered his attendant, Shiqi, “Find so n to keep watch around the Duke Residence and report any activity imdiately.”

“Yes,” Shiqi acknowledged the order and quickly made arrangents.

Advisor Li, seeing his Prince this concerned for the first ti, tried to console him, “Please, do not worry, my Lord.”

“Although the Princess can sotis be childish, the old servant can see she is a smart person, and she will surely not let herself fall into danger.”

Li Mingjue looked up at the gloomy sky, his eyes dark and unreadable, and muttered hoarsely, “I hope so.”

In the Duke Residence, Madam Qin had already prepared a feast in the backyard and invited a few talented ladies from prominent families in the capital to admire the flowers in the garden.

Qi Anran was among them, and seeing Madam Qin’s kind attitude towards her, she felt sowhat proud.

Since her engagent to Prince Anran, more people in the capital city had been currying favor with her, greatly satisfying her vanity.

Currently, she was busy learning etiquette from the nanny sent by the Empress and occasionally attending so banquets, living a colorful life.

But whenever she thought about how she had been outsmarted by the fool Qi Yu, she felt as if she had a fishbone stuck in her throat.

As she pondered deeply, a maid ca over and reported, “Madam, the Princess of Prince Qiu Residence has arrived.”

Madam Qin’s expression stiffened, and she spoke in an indifferent tone, “Let her in.”

The others, noticing her displeasure towards the Princess of Prince Qiu Residence, exchanged glances, each harboring their own thoughts.

Even as the Princess of Prince Qiu Residence, she was still considered a fool who was despised wherever she went!

Upon hearing the words “Princess of Prince Qiu Residence,” Qi Anran, who had been serenely admiring the flowers, suddenly grew cold.

Her hands were pinching a red rhododendron so tightly that the juice stained her fingertips red without her noticing.

Chen Shishi noticed her actions and suddenly let out a light sneer.

With a sweet smile on her face, she walked toward Madam Qin and spoke affectionately, “Aunt, we were enjoying the flowers here; why must we call that fool over?”

Madam Qin did not seem displeased by her words, but still deliberately scolded, “How can you speak of the Princess of Prince Qiu Residence like that?”

Chen Shishi snorted disdainfully, “She is a fool, and aren’t others allowed to say it!”

“Audacious!” Qi Yu and her group just walked in when they heard Chen Shishi’s words.

She had barely reacted when Chunlan beside her suddenly shouted, “The Princess of Prince Qiu Residence is not soone you can disparage at will!”

Everyone, including Qi Yu, was startled by her outburst.

Qi Yu looked at Chunlan with a shocked expression, wondering how this usually delicate girl suddenly burst out in such a manner.

Chunlan didn’t care what others thought; before coming, Li Bo had instructed that no one should be allowed to bully their Princess.

“You, a re maid, dare to speak to , a lady, in such a manner!” Chen Shishi regained her senses and pointed at Chunlan while berating her.

She, a daughter of a prominent family, was being scolded by a lowly maid; how could she ever mix in the capital city again if word got out?

Chunlan, with a stern and pretty face, declared righteously, “According to the laws of Dazhao, Miss Chen must kneel and pay respects upon seeing our Princess!”

Her words caused a change in everyone’s expression, not just Chen Shishi’s; even Madam Qin would have to pay respects upon seeing Qi Yu.

Initially, others rely considered Qi Yu a fool and did not acknowledge her status as the Princess, so naturally, there would be no talk of paying respects.

But indeed, the Princess had the authority to decide their fate.

With the conversation reaching this point, Madam Qin could only step in to smooth things over, smiling at Qi Yu, “The Princess of Prince Qiu Residence is magnanimous and will surely not take issue with Shishi.”

Qi Yu noticed how skillfully she had extricated herself and the Duke Residence from the situation, leaving Chen Shishi to take all the bla.

She sneered deliberately, “The Princess is magnanimous, yet certain matters still need to be addressed.”

“After all,” she paused deliberately.

Her gaze swept over the faces of the others before she nonchalantly continued, “my Prince has said, should the Princess suffer any displeasure today at the Duke Residence, he will certainly return it twofold tomorrow.”

Madam Qin’s heart sank; she had not anticipated Qi Yu being so difficult to deceive.

She had already shifted the bla onto Chen Shishi, yet Qi Yu had escalated the situation to a confrontation between the Duke Residence and Prince Qiu Residence.

“The Princess jests, today I invited the Princess over, why would I allow you to be wronged.” Madam Qin insisted stiffly.

Qi Yu pointed at Chen Shishi and raised her chin towards her, with an uncompromising and justified deanor, “I demand she apologize to !”
