"Okay, finally, for our last contestants, Addison and Jin versus Angela and Carlile." Jin was on team two while Angela was on team one.
’Red is cooler.’ Jin smiled.
"Are you ready to take a beating, princess? Because once I’m done with you, not even the beast healers will be able to put you back together." Angela punched her fist and cracked her knuckles as ice froze over her hand.
Addison placed her hand in front of Jin and took a step forward. "Stand behind , I’ll handle her. You focus on her partner."
Speaking of her partner, Carlile gulped nervously. This was the worst possible matchup—tead with the unhinged Angela, facing the fierce Addison, and pitted against the sharp-minded Jin.
’Fucking bastard, thinking you’re so much better than the rest of us!’ Carlile wasn’t the only guy feeling this way.
All of the other boys thought that Jin was just trying to look good in the eyes of the girls to get a free pass. He was the most handso out of all of them as well.
’Girls don’t like muscular guys anyway!’ Carlile cursed at Jin in his head.
’What’s his problem?’ Jin could feel the anger of Carlile being directed at him.
"Do you have a plan?" Addison asked Jin.
"Angela can freeze particles. If you can maximize the heat of your photon blasts, then your powers should cancel out, I think."
"Why do you only think? Shouldn’t you know?"
Jin wondered if Addison had been dropped on her head as a child. "No. I don’t know how hot you can make your energy beams. Angela’s power isn’t ice control—she stops molecular movent. If the particles in your energy don’t move fast enough to counter that, your attacks will just freeze and beco useless."
Addison didn’t have ti to respond as Mrs Horton commanded them to...
"BEGIN!"
Angela wasted no ti transforming the entire arena into a frozen domain where her powers could flourish.
Jin acted quickly, using the palm of his glove on his power kit to blast a heat wave into the ground.
Thankfully, Addison caught on to Jin’s plan imdiately. She intensified the heat of his attack while charging her own, unleashing a scorching wave that lted the ice surrounding them.
"You’re good, but I’m better!" Angela shouted, freezing the moisture in the air into razor-sharp icicles and launching them toward Jin and Addison.
Jin created a holo-shield while Angela ignited into pure energy, allowing the icicles to lt before they even touched her.
Angela turned to her partner and beca angry. "What the hell are you doing? Are you going to stand there all day? Fucking useless bastard!"
"S-Sorry!" Carlile stamred, his power kit still inactive. He’d been too distracted by the sudden clash of freezing and searing energies.
He quickly activated it, but he wouldn’t be able to do anything as Jin was already coming his way.
"Ahhh!" Carlile activated his laser blade, swinging wildly at Jin in hopes of landing a hit—but reality had other plans.
Jin dodged to the side, weaved through the attacks, ducked under a few, then flipped backward, landing on his hands and using his legs to snare Carlile’s arm.
He continued with the flipping motion, slamming the guy on the hard ground while dislocating his shoulder.
"Arghhhhh!!"
Jin jumped on his back, tied Carlile’s arm behind his back, then placed a rocket accessory onto the rope, activating it, and watched as Carlile ramd into the holographic wall, getting knocked out.
"Whoa, Jin can fight?"
"He’s smart and can fight? That’s my type of boy."
"h, he’s too muscular in my opinion."
"And you’re boobs are too big, shut up."
Back in the arena, Angela rolled her eyes as she saw her partner get manhandled by Jin.
"Fucking useless-"
Jin shot two tallic cords around Angela’s arms, whipping them to generate electricity, shocking her body.
"AGHAHGAHGAHGAHAHAHAHAHA! NICE TRY, PRINCESS!" The cables froze instantly, ice creeping up their length. Jin yanked them free and leaped back, only for Angela to slide in and slam her ice-augnted fist into his stomach.
"Agh! My god!" Jin was winded as he slamd into the holographic wall. He could barely co back to his senses when Angela ca at him again.
"Oh no, you don’t!" Addison stomped, sending a surge of energy racing across the ground toward Angela. She then launched into the air, raining down blasts to keep her away from Jin.
"Nice one, but you’ll have to do better than that." Angela copied Addison, stomping her foot and erecting a massive ice wall that blocked Angela’s energy trail. She then, while still charging at Jin, snapped her fingers, and all of Addison’s energy blasts turned to ice.
"Dammit! I need to go hotter!"
"Wakey Wakey!"
Jin backflipped onto the wall just in ti to avoid Angela’s massive fist. He clung with fingertips and toes, scaling upward while keeping his eyes on the ground.
"You’re fucking crazy!" Jin shouted.
"I know!" Angela climbed the wall, her feet sticking to it because of the ice, and punched at Jin multiple tis.
He crawled, dodged, and jumped out of the way. Angelia ford a sword of Ice, attacking Jin with it, and he used a laser blade to counter.
That was a mistake, as it instantly froze.
"Shit!"
Thinking fast, Jin detached his blade, then jumped off the wall and used his rocket boosters to get further away from her.
Unfortunately for Jin, Angela was trained by him, so she froze the flas of his jet boosters, even without direct contact, then slamd him onto the ground as she could control the ice from a distance.
"It’s over now!" Addison was burning as bright as the sun and was radiating so much heat that Jin’s technology started to short-circuit, forcing him to activate his holoshield, which protected his entire body but didn’t allow him to attack.
"Bring it on!" Angela’s body turned to pure Ice when she went all out.
The two of them stared at each other for a while before attacking.
When their fists collided, it produced an explosion that shattered the holoshield walls and knocked both of them out.
Jin was the only one left standing in the arena.
’Psychopaths. All of them are fucking psychopaths!’ Jin simply breathed a sigh of relief as he had co first in the final test.
