It was natural that people were surprised that Jin killed Richard Dickson in cold blood on cara, broadcast to the whole city to see. But he didn’t care, after all, Richard Dickson wasn’t real. He was a creation, a clone of whoever the real Richard Dickson was.
That was the reason why he couldn’t read his mind. He wasn’t real to begin with.
Without even a second thought, Jin flew through the building, tearing through the floors of the skyscraper until he was at the bottom in the lobby. There, he continued to fly downward, tunneling through the crust until he landed in an underground network.
"Here we are!" Jin smirked. "Computer, scan."
[Scanning...There are three paths you can take.]
"Which one has life forms?"
[All paths do, but the central path is the closest to lifeforms.]
"Nice." Jin took off, but when he started flying, his mana fritzed out, and he stumbled to the ground.
"Arg! Fuck. My body won’t hold on for long. I need to find them quickly." Jin stabilized his mana, then continued to the area where life forms were.
[This is the room.]
Jin entered to see multiple n strapped to chairs with their brains open as cords were connected to them. It was a horrific sight, seeing the n shaking from pain but not able to do anything.
"What the fuck?!" Jin looked at everything, all of the computers, to see how to shut this process down. His own computer helped out, and when they figured it out, Jin activated the shutdown process.
With his mana, he healed all of their heads.
"Are you all okay?" He asked, but no one answered.
"Figures, they are probably so out of it that they can’t even hear right now. The best thing to do right now is to have them stay put and call the Aegis Corps to help them. Wait, they could send a Sons of Adam agent without knowing. Fuck it, I can’t wait around for them to arrive and save my friends at the sa ti."
Jin placed a digital pin where he was at that would ping the Aegis Corps of this area. After that, he searched the other two areas.
The second area was just like the first one, where n had their heads open with cables attached to them. Like before, Jin shut down what was going on, healed them, and then placed a digital pin where he was.
Finally, he went to the third area, but on his way there, he was hit in the back by sothing, then sothing slamd into his chest, knocking him back.
"What the hell? How co I couldn’t sense what was around ?" But then he rembered that his mana wasn’t the best right now, so he couldn’t trust that his senses wouldn’t be affected.
"Intruder, stop where you are or be exterminated." A man in a black power suit said, alongside two others.
’They look like the ones who attacked before!’ Jin expected there to be more of these n before, but it still surprised him to see them since he wasn’t used to n having powers in this world.
He scanned them to see if they had nanites in their system as well, but when he scanned one of them, their DNA ca back to him as soone he knew.
"W-What the hell? Roby?!"
"Attack the intruder." All three of them attacked Jin.
"Roby, wait! It’s , Jin!"
Roby didn’t listen and attacked Jin. His movents were refined, precise, and deadly. He only aid for vital spots, and the procedure that turned Roby into this killing machine made him a lot stronger.
Jin had no connection to the other two people, so he killed them without batting an eye, nor did he feel bad for them, but for Roby, he made sure to handle him with care.
Roby’s powers weren’t special, just the typical super strength, but combined with the nanites and the endoskeleton, he was a force to reckon with. However, Jin was able to overpower him and knock the guy out.
"Scan his brain."
[Scanning...His neurons are receiving information from an outside source, interfering with his own thought process.]
"Tech-based mind control." Jin ran his algorithm by plugging into the tech inside Roby’s mind. It took him ten minutes to break the connection and restore Roby to his forr self.
"Hey, Roby, bro, can you hear ?"
"Nngh!" Roby slowly opened his eyes. When he saw Jin, he freaked out.
"Ahh! S-Stay back! No more! Please! No more! I just wanna go ho! Please!"
"Roby! It’s okay! It’s , Jin!" He grabbed his friend, hugging the man to calm him down.
"J-Jin? Oh, thank the goddess! Jin. Jin, they ssed with . Opened up, put sothing inside . It was awful. I felt like I was going to die." He cried on Jin’s shoulder.
"It’s okay, man. It’s okay. I got you now. But we can’t stay here for long. Brittany was kidnapped. I need to find her!"
Roby stopped crying and let go of Jin. He sniffed a few tis, wiping his tears before speaking.
"I-I think I know where she is."
"Really? Did you see her?"
"N-No, I didn’t. But there is a woman’s wing on the opposite side of the place. There should be a device that sends you there."
Jin checked his map, and sure enough, there was a horizontal elevator that went to a separate place.
"Co on."
Jin and Roby ran for the elevator, activating it, and arrived at the woman’s section. It was even bigger than the n’s section, and the place was one massive dungeon.
Jin pinged this place as well for the Aegis Corps, then searched around to see if he could find his friends.
He scanned and sensed with his mana, but it was his ears that found them first.
"J-Jin?" A voice called out to him.
He quickly turned around to the person who had called him, going to the cell where the voice ca from.
"Brittany?! Yeah, it’s ! I’m here! I’m here." He pried open the doors and ran over to her, hugging her body.
"NNNGHH! Heh, n-nice to see you too." She said with a strained voice.
Jin couldn’t help but cry. He didn’t like it when tears ran down his face, but he was so thankful that she was alive.
"Are Angela and Addison okay?" He asked
"Yeah. But, they’re in a worse state than I am in." Brittany nodded her head to the side to show where they were.
It was a bit dark, so Jin didn’t see the bad state the three of them were in, but once he shone light on them, he nearly lost it once more.
