and him relate so well. We both love BL stories.
We are both scholarship students. And we are both the only normal ones in an entire school of nutcases.
We are in the cafeteria right now. Talking as we eat. "Wait! You write BL webtoons and stories?" I say.
"Yeah, well. I would not exactly call it that. Just a whole bunch of lazy words and fantasies I sotis wring out of my brain to pass ti when I’m bored." He casually responds like it isn’t so big deal.
"It is still aweso nonetheless. It is difficult for so of us to write a hundred word letter much more a novel. What it is about?"
"Just romance stuff." He said vaguely.
"Well elaborate. Enlighten ."
"You really wanna know?"
"Hell yeah, I do!"
He sighs. "I have never told anyone before. You gotta keep this a secret okay?"
"Cross my heart. Who do I to tell anyway?"
"It’s about a guy who has a crush on the most attractive guy in his school. The guy also happens to be the most unapproachable person the protagonist had ever t too. But they eventually work out a relationship."
"What about the lead’s nas and the title?" I ask keenly.
"The title is, "Things I’II never say" And the lead’s na is; Maverick and Calyx."
I give him an incredulous look. As if he understood, he explains, "Yeah it is about ."
"Wait.... If it is about you then.... Calyx...." I trail.
"Yeah."
"Are you crazy?" I spoke that in hushed tones. "I have been crazy ever since I saw him and I realized I had a crush on him."
"Calyx of all people? Don’t you care that he is a douche? A..... A red flag?
"I guess my love is colorblind."
Maverick lets read the webtoons and novel. It was really good. And it has a lot of attention. He does not have a ending in mind for it yet. The story is still on him watching and being afraid to tell Calyx about his feelings. I told him that he’s got to put aside reality and complete the fiction because it would never happen in reality for a number of reasons;
One: Calyx is not gay. I have seen him making out with girls on nurous sightings. He is capital straight. But Maverick is delusionally holding on to the idea that Calyx might be secretly gay.
Two: Calyx would kill him if he ever made his feelings known.
Waiting and believing his feelings to one day be known by the other is like holding on to the dream of literally flying like a bird in the sky. It would never be possible in my opinion. Him waiting for it to beco reality would be stringing along his poor readers and that is bad. He saw reasons with that and promised he was going to complete it and make it a happy ending. I tell him to make it a very happy one since it is never going to happen reality-wise.
The next day we were sitting on a bench in the school’s large and fancy basketball court watching a ga between two of the school’s basketball team. Black and Red devils. Calyx is among the Red devils. He constantly gets a hold of the ball and throw it in the hoops everyti. Even doing hard moves that left jaws hanging. At least there is another thing he is good at other than bullying people. I’m bored and do not want to be here at all. I want to return to those books in the library but it is kind of compulsory to be here, so...
Most of the girls are swooning and yelling his na like crazy. So even held signs with his na. Behaving like total fans. And it makes no sense whatsoever. Even Maverick was cheering his na out loud at so point. But I reminded him that Calyx is a bully and a monster. Referencing to the things he told about him which I wholeheartedly believe because I myself witnessed him put a guy in the hospital by destroying his head.
I can’t believe it. How can soone like him be idolized? It must be because of his looks. He is indeed handso. And that Red sports shorts and shirt plus him being sweaty is perfection. It calls to my mind the MC of the one of the most hottest romance novel I have read. But character also matters too. Can’t they see he doesn’t have that?
Love isn’t the only thing that is blind. Attraction is too. "Hey," I call Maverick’s attention over the loud cheers. "Hmmm?" He replies without taking his eyes of the ga. Off Calyx. "What if he knows that you have a crush on him? Or finds out about your webnovel?" He tears his eyes away from the ga and pins it on my face. "He can’t. Does he look like the type to surf the web searching for sothing to read?"
"No he doesn’t. But he has friends around him. They might find out and let him know. I an, you did not just use his na. You used his last na as well. Even a blind person would see the point." I reason.
"I used a pseudonym. Have you forgotten? Even if he does find out, which he most likely would not, he will never know that it is ."
He says, and takes his attention back to the ga.
But soon faces again with a hopeful expression. "What if? I an, just what if, he sohow finds out that I am the one who wrote that, and he is so entranced he starts to like too?" I don’t know about that. Calyx Lamont do not seem like a secret gay no matter how much I look at him. "The chances of that my friend, is nill." He looks offended but it is the truth.
"Aren’t we friends? You are supposed to support ."
"I can support you in anything else but this. There is no sense and solution in delusion."
