Chapter 80 - Need An Aide
Listening to his student's aningful questions, Sullivan Sad finally figured out the direction in which she had been trying to lead him.
"The process of finding a cure can start only after the symptoms are properly identified and studied." He Buttered to himself as he began answering her questions.
Yvonne gave him a silent nod, encouraging him to move further in his deductions.
'He did not need much to get on the right track.' She applauded and recognized the wit of the man dubbed as the most worthy tutor in all of Rosenhyde.
"The production of the cure would then take anywhere between a week to a month…" He widened his eyes when he thought of the last question he was asked.
"The journey from the Royal dical Association to the fief of Marquess Carter takes 2 weeks while to the fief of Baron Wescott takes 4 weeks" He disclosed the approximate ti taken to travel to these lands.
Sullivan's eyes widened when he finally noticed the flaw which he had not yet noticed until this day.
'It took this little girl a few minutes to figure out the loopholes in King Greggor's plans while none of the older generations ever bothered to think about this?' He wondered what had caused them to overlook such a major flaw.
"If a new plague were to break out then the ti taken to travel to the affected areas might be the biggest reason for the delayed treatnt of the patients." He exclaid in a horrified manner.
'There! Right on point!' Yvonne excitedly nodded to show her acceptance of his answer.
'Looks like I need to speak to the King about this matter at the earliest!' He decided and then nodded his head along with her.
Since he had already completed today's class with the Royal Princess and her playmates, Glennise Brodie and Rika Kiron, he could only postpone his eting till the next day.
While he was thinking of the young girls he taught, he rembered the latest addition to Princess Felicia's playmate position and sighed.
'That Kiron girl needs to catch up to stand on the sa grounds with the other two.' He shook his head while thinking of Rika who had just started her classes at the Palace with the Princess.
However, she was already lagging in her studies and falling behind the two girls who were diligent and excellent in their studies.
Thinking of Rika's studies only made him compare her to this child who was sitting before him.
'The King would certainly be pleased to hear that his Kingdom has produced such a brilliant mind but sadly she refuses to take up that prestigious position by the Princess's side.' He sighed for the thousandth ti today.
Yvonne was unaware of his plans of ntioning her na during his future rendezvous with the King, she was just glad that she had placed this thought in his mind.
'What he does with this information is up to him. I have done what I could.' She remarked and then washed her hands off this matter.
The main problem during the third plague wasn't the race to find the cure, that was done fairly easily due to a certain dical genius who popped up in the ti of need yet remained unknown until the end of the script.
The fault laid in the bad logistics and terrible roads which caused the dicines to not reach the citizens on ti.
'Hopefully, they will do sothing about the bumpy roads as well.' Yvonne sighed after rembering the terrible journey she had made from their fief to the capital.
With this, they had finished the chapter that the little girl had requested to learn more about.
Now that they had completed the extrely short chapter about the plagues that had devastated Rosenhyde in the past, Marquess Sad decided to ask about the gossip he had heard.
On his way to the St. Claire Mansion, he heard the news from his n that the little miss in this house wished to learn skills that were mostly male-centric.
"Why the sudden need to learn these new things?" He interrogated with a curious expression gracing his face.
Yvonne was not surprised that this man who was known for his gossipy nature was already aware of her latest endeavors.
"The sa reason why I have asked you to secretly tutor about the financial undertakings in the capital city." She vaguely answered.
"So you were serious when you said that you wish to take over the responsibilities of the heir until your brother fulfills his dreams?" He guffawed when he saw her nod in response.
"You will certainly need to know how to defend yourself since you are begging to be targeted by the other n in society if you carry on in this path." He warned her as all playfulness faded from his face.
He was worried that this child was taking the powerful and vicious n in Rosenhyde as a joke.
Earl St. Claire was used to dealing with those treacherous n who smiled when they t at social gatherings but would not hesitate to sche against him when they needed it.
While Sullivan's heart was in the right place, he did not know sothing crucial about Yvonne.
What Marquess Sullivan Sad did not know was that Yvonne had been trained by one of the shrewdest businessn in all of Europe before she transmigrated into this child's body.
What sches and threats had she not faced before that she would fear them now?
"I will be fine as long as I have you by my side." Yvonne smiled sweetly, completely disregarding his concern for her safety.
Marquess Sad scoffed when he heard her flattering words and then rolled his eyes.
"I will not be here to do your bidding all the ti!" He muttered arrogantly which made Yvonne pout as her head tilted to the side.
"If not you, then who will?" She asked while wondering why he would say such a thing.
'Heh! You think those cute tactics will work on ?' He scowled and then looked away.
"You need an aide for that. Soone who would be at your every beck and call. Soone who would follow your every order religiously." He explained his point of view to his ignorant student.
"Sotis she's a child genius while other tis she's completely oblivious to how this world works." He muttered to himself at this strange personality of hers.
When Yvonne heard his explanation, two faces popped up in her mind.
One was her grandfather Leo's faithful and efficient aide, Butler Powell and the other was her new father, Rutherford's aide, Butler Limo.
Since she could not ntion Butler Powell in Marquess Sad's presence, she decided to use Butler Limo's na instead.
"Do you an soone like Butler Limo?" She asked with confusion laced in her voice to know whether she had guessed correctly.
"That is correct. Soone like him." Sullivan answered with a brief nod.
