Chapter 56 - The True Form

High up in another realm of a different universe, the skies were a pale yellow with hues of orange mingling with it due to the large setting sun.

Under the open sky, a man with godly beauty and an ethereal glow that encompassed his body laid listlessly on a soft cushioned couch.

Asmodeus sighed as he looked into the enormous bowl of water placed before him.

Looking at the reflection in the mirror, he ran his fingers through the sapphire blue hair that fell loosely over his shoulders.

The steel grey eyes looked cold and piercing yet had a slight tenderness hidden in them.

A long face with sharp slant eyes, a pointed and sleek nose which sat above his soft pink lips with a jawline that was sharp enough to cut soone.

That was exactly how one would describe the face shown in the reflection.

Every feature on his face scread of how his beauty was unparalleled.

This was the true form of God Asmodeus Del Ovin, the God of thunder and flight.

He had often used his other form to et Yvonne because no human could withstand seeing a god in their true form.

Running his long bony fingers over the calm surface of the water, Asmodeus caused ripples in it which distorted his reflection.

"Show what I want to see." He murmured and in an instant, the water beca still once again.

His grey eyes glowed for a mont and then he was shown the sight that he wished to see.

On the surface of the water, images of a small vegetable garden appeared.

Asmodeus laid his head on the pillow and watched the show that was being telecasted in the bowl of water.

_____

A little girl with dark brown puffy hair ran in the direction of the vegetables growing in the soil.

She quickly knelt down and started picking out all kinds of fresh vegetables before rushing back inside.

An elderly couple had been passing by the road and stopped when they noticed her actions.

They watched from outside the wooden fence how the child quickly chose the best pick of the lot as though it was well in her expertise.

"Hilda is working hard once again." The old woman smiled while watching the little girl scurrying towards the kitchen.

"She always helps her parents." The man beside her nodded as they slowly walked away.

Hilda entered the kitchen and the first thing she did was to wash them thoroughly before placing them in separate bowls.

"Mother! I have prepared them! You just have to start cooking now." She yelled and strode outside.

Moving to the front of the building, she t her father speaking to a new custor who had just arrived.

"Hilly, take this madam to the last room on the second floor please." He requested to which she answered with her charming smile.

Hilda picked up one of the many bags that the lady was holding and brought her upstairs.

"Such a sweet child. Do you always help your parents out?" The woman tried to make conversation as they moved along.

Hilda turned around to face her and nodded cheerfully.

"I always try to help them. They are my parents after all, if not then who else would?" She tilted her head and giggled.

The woman chuckled along with her and rubbed the top of her little head.

She had been traveling for a long ti and there was no lodging visible for miles.

Finally, soone had told her of an inn which had opened recently and she was glad to find that they had a vacant room for her to rest in.

"How long has this place been running?" The lady asked when they reached her room.

"A few weeks now. We were lucky to find this place the mont we arrived in this town." Hilda answered while panting a little.

"So you aren't from this town?" The lady was surprised to hear this because when she was discussing the prices with the owner, a lot of neighbors had stopped by to greet him on their way to work.

"No. We were in St. Claire Earldom before we moved here." The child replied with a slightly bitter smile.

She was not happy with her father's decision to move away because not only would she lose her new friend, Von.

She would also lose the chance of ever eting Sir Frit, the charming stable boy that worked at the estate.

"That's a long way from here!" The lady remarked as they were halfway across the kingdom from St. Claire's land.

Hilda nodded and then helped her place all the luggage in an orderly manner.

"Do try my mother's cooking. All the ingredients are grown in our backyard and they taste great." She recomnded and smiled when she received an eager nod from her.

Having completed her work here, she gently bowed before leaving the room.

Walking down the stairs and outside the inn, Hilda paused and stared at the three-storeyed inn that her father had bought with the money that he had found at their doorstep one morning.

The board that read 'COZY INN' made her chuckle every ti she saw it.

'Father couldn't think of a better na than that?' Shaking her head she trudged in the direction of the lake that she would often spend her free ti at.

_______

"She seems happy?" Asmodeus rolled his eyes and tapped a finger on the water.

The image of the girl swinging her legs as she sat by the lake was transforming to show the live feed of another place.

'After all, that's what I wrote her life to be…' He chuckled lightly.

He then shook his head while thinking of the disaster that would soon strike her happiness and turn it into grief and sorrow.

Unlike the other gods who made such worlds, Asmodeus had no special affection for the characters he had created.

His only purpose for even trying his hand at writing this script was a certain nasty foul-mouthed god who just wouldn't leave him alone.

Just thinking of that man, Asmodeus felt his rage skyrocket but he cald himself down when he noticed the change in scenery in the bowl of water.

"Let's watch what this boy is doing with his life." He mumbled and picked up a bunch of grapes to snack on while he watched the show.

_______

Two girls sat in a room as they sipped the strawberry juice that was specially made for them.

"Who do you think will be the other playmate, Princess?" The girl with her auburn hair tied in braids asked with curious eyes.

"I have no idea, Miss Glennise." The blonde-haired child answered while shaking her head.

Glennise Brodie looked around the room and then slowly scooted her chair closer to Princess Felicia.

Felicia glanced at her weird actions and then raised her chin in question.

"I have heard rumors that the daughter of the St. Claire family might be our companion in the near future." She whispered after leaning closer to Felicia's ear.

"St. Claire? Isn't she younger by a whole year?" Felicia was confused and her brows furrowed when she heard this.

Glennise nodded her head and was about to speak when they felt a presence behind them.

The girls shrieked in fear when there was soone standing right behind them and they hadn't even noticed that person's arrival until now.

The person who had entered had sparkling blonde hair just like Felicia which was proof that he was a part of the Rosenhyde Royal family.

"Stop yelling!" Prince Fritzen ordered while covering his ears to shield them from their banshee-like screams.

Felicia and Glennise instantly shut their mouths and looked at him from the corner of their eyes.

Fritzen sighed when he saw the fearful glances they were directed at him and quietly sat on the empty seat at the table.

He looked at his little sister who was pouting and rubbed her hair to show that he wasn't angry with her.

Glennise on the other side wasn't much flustered about his presence because she had already gotten used to seeing the Prince on a daily basis for so ti now.

The fact that she had not yet fallen in love with him had also helped in this regard.

"What was this about the daughter of the St. Claire family?" He asked while secretly gritting his teeth.

'If she is the one who pulled out of the stream that day then I will make sure that she never enters the Palace in this lifeti.' He vowed and clenched his fists under the table.

If Yvonne would have heard his thoughts then she would have declared it from the rooftops that she was the one who had saved him that day.

But when was she so fortunate to have things work out in her favor without struggling for it?

Glennise thought for a mont before reporting everything she knew about the child from the St. Claire family.

"Yvonne St. Claire, recently turned 5 years old. Known for her knowledge is apparently one of the best students that have studied under Marquess Sad." She nodded after she was done and then glanced at the others at the table.

"But she is a year younger than us so how can she join us?" Felicia pointed out the doubt in her mind.

"What is the color of her hair?" Fritzen inquired before Glennise could clarify Felicia's doubt.

The girls looked at the boy who was a year older than them with suspicious eyes.

"She has violet hair. May I know why Fritzen Sama is asking about this?" Glennise shot back with an incredulous look in her eyes.

"So she isn't the one?" Fritzen muttered under his breath and did not answer her question.

The girls looked at the older boy who was lost in his thoughts and decided not to disturb him any further.

They silently got up and walked out of the room, leaving him in the sa spot.
