Fay looked at the small earthling boy. He was just like him and Mira; he was still not sure how the two twins managed to survive long enough for the Eluwyn to find them, but alas, they were safe and now his responsibility for so reason.
"Alright…. One stone reacted, the sa one as your sister, let's see if another one works…"
Fay had him test the higher-tier ones and noticed the sound; Echo Crystal seed to react.
"How strange… You are quiet and yet your stone belongs to sound… let's give it to you then, here try to summon sothing with it, maybe it will help you find a voice so you can express yourself more Tomo."
The boy shyly picked up the stone and began to imitate what Mira did. Fay nodded, seeing the kid had more brains than he let on.
Within a few seconds, a small bird had begun to manifest above his hand, it looked like a parrot, yellow with green colored wings.
"I think it looks nice… we will have to test what it can do, though."
Fay scrutinized the bird a little before the creature answered back.
"I can do so much, whhaak"
This only made Fay's eyebrow lift.
"What can you do for Tomo, though?"
Fay began to ask. He was interested in a creature that could speak; it was probably the second one he had ever seen, besides Mirage, his dragon, to do so.
"Tomo wants to use the bathroom, he does."
Fay had to keep himself from reacting and let the boy go take care of his needs, sothing he wouldn't have known if not for the bird. The boy, though, was teary-eyed as he ran out of the room.
"Well… Rina, let's see if you can top your brother's creature. You both can strangely use ice and a second, stronger affinity. Yours… is tal. Which one do you want to use?"
"I want… tal. It will be strong! Enough to help protect ."
Fay was stumped. The girl clearly wanted a soft creature like Mira's, but neither of her elents seed suited for that. One was ice, and any creature from that elent wouldn't be sothing you'd want to hug.
The other was tal…certainly not soft.
"Alright. Sa thing as your brother. Imagine the creature, and it will appear. Try to summon it on the floor, though. I don't want you to get hurt."
The creature that appeared was a small tallic orb. It looked more like an eye when it opened and glanced around.
"Wow, so cool! I beat you, Mira. Look, it's cute and round!"
Once again, Fay had to hold himself back from laughing. These two twins really did summon so strange creatures.
He looked over the floating tallic eye, which kept spinning with interest.
"Can it talk?" Fay asked, poking at the back of it.
"Can't. It has no mouth, silly."
Fay scratched the back of his head in embarrassnt.
"Right, it can't… What can it do then?"
Fay began to test the orb's speed. He had it turn from one side to the other, then gave it a slight push to see how it would react. The orb returned to its spot beside Rina in milliseconds.
"It will protect with its body… I can also… see what it does. It hurts my head a little."
Fay recalled what Horin had ntioned about her buzzard sharing its vision. It was like having a third eye, and it took a lot of practice to get used to. But this was perfect. That would an he just needed to send the girl to get Horin's help.
"Good, good. I think it turned out well. Train it and it will get stronger, Rina. You too, Mira… don't let Jiggz sleep all day. We might need to head back to the Eluwyn forest so you can continue healing the people there and also et Mama Kueha again. She should be able to co back with us if there are fewer people to heal, right?"
Mira's eyes widened at those words, and she looked like she wanted to rush Fay into taking her back to the forest.
"Relax for now. Help Rina and Tomo with their creatures. Here, feed them these, and also give one to Jiggz."
Fay handed them the lowest quality of stone shards. They were too weak to summon a creature and were best used as nourishnt.
"Alright! But make sure you hurry and take to Mama Kueha soon, Fayfay!"
Fay nodded as he exited the room, hoping to see Erian soon.
The Mistwalker should have been able to go into the forest and return within hours, so the delay likely ant he was bringing soone back.
As Fay began to check around the city, he spotted a raven flying overhead, coming from beyond the wall. He imdiately recognized it as Selra's, bringing back news.
The rare black-haired, light green-eyed Eluwyn woman turned her face toward Fay just as the raven finished delivering its ssage.
Fay understood the sign clearly and began walking toward the gate. Horin and her father, both keenly aware of movents within the town, joined him, knowing he was heading there for a reason.
"What happened, Fay?"
Fay kept walking, now moving a bit slower so Nahrin could keep up.
"Elaruîn and the Mistwalker tasked with sending ssages... they will likely arrive soon. I'm just going out to greet them."
"Guess we should join you, even if I can't walk, I need to at least greet my teacher…" Nahrin, who was getting used to his crutch, was a little faster the day before.
Half an hour went by as the three talked near the gate. Fay had been told what buildings he should work on first, the renovations needed to so of the houses, and which places were fine just the way they were.
"Here they co, I can see them with my bird, Maji, already."
As they looked, they spotted three creatures running fast towards them, and in minutes they arrived within the gates.
"Teacher! Glad to see you're here, and Erian, thanks for helping us. Also? Selûne, why did you co?"
Fay greeted each of them but did not understand why the girl had co.
