Sophie Allen found it laughable.

Emily Allen and Mia Stewart are like two peas in a pod, only Emily doesn’t have half the emotional intelligence Mia does.

"What do you an, big sister? Don’t slander people." Sophie Allen curved her lips, a faint smile still hanging at the corner of her mouth.

As if she were discussing other people’s affairs.

"Oh, my dear little sister, are you still hiding it from the Clarkson Family?" Emily felt Sophie was defending herself, denying, feeling guilty.

She was even more raring to go, revelling in others’ misfortune, wanting to grind down Sophie’s spirits.

Although Sophie hooked up with the young master Henry Hudson, she certainly could not let Sophie off easily. She must let Sophie be thoroughly chastised by Stardust Garden.

Once Sophie was driven out of Stardust Garden, she would personally enter the fray, snatch Henry away and let Sophie taste the bitterness of abandonnt again!

"Enough!"

At this mont, Jasmine Clarkson spoke out, her expression stern.

Mia quickly pinched her daughter’s arm, indicating her to stop talking.

Emily had to shut up for the ti being.

"It was you who married Charlotte into our family, and now it’s also you who are spreading rumors. Is this how the Allen family does things?" Jasmine’s voice was strong and crisp, even sowhat heartbroken.

She took a deep breath and slowly said, "Mr. Allen is a good man who has been loyal, dutiful and honest all his life. It’s a pity that his descendants have tarnished the Allen family’s reputation."

The "Mr. Allen" ntioned by Jasmine was Sophie’s grandfather.

Mia felt guilty and quickly denied, "Miss Clarkson, it’s my daughter who was thoughtless and spoke out of turn. We hope you won’t mind. We ca here because we don’t want relations between the Allen and Clarkson families to deteriorate, especially considering Charlotte’s misconduct."

She did her utmost to shift the bla onto Sophie.

Emily quickly chid in, "Yes, yes, Miss Clarkson, we are all for the good of the Clarkson family. That’s why we brought this matter up. Or else, you can ask Sophie herself if she’s been seducing Dr. Hudson from Cot Hospital!"

"Big sister, stop making false accusations. Dr. Hudson is my senior. He kindly arranged for Aunt Watson to be hospitalized. Just because I had a few more words with him, does that an you can malign like this?"

Sophie responded with a smile, calm and collected, showing no signs of panic or fear.

Emily was taken aback and stood up angrily, banging on the table and cursing, "Sophie Allen, you shaless... You clearly said you seduced Henry Hudson, how could you...—"

"Oh? Big sister, did you record it? When did I ever say that?" Sophie looked totally innocent.

"Sophie, you... " Emily was so angry she was jumping up and down, looking terrifying.

Seeing Miss Clarkson’s darkening face, Mia quickly pulled Emily away, apologizing with a smile, "Please don’t mind, Miss Clarkson, it’s maybe we misunderstood sothing. We won’t disturb you any further."

With that, Mia Stewart, dragging her daughter, beat a hasty retreat, glowering at Sophie as they left.

Emily, feeling wronged, was dragged out of the Stardust Garden hall. She violently shook off Mia’s hand.

"Mom, we should have stood up to Sophie just now! Why did you chicken out?" Emily was boiling with rage.

Mia tapped her forehead with a finger and said in disappointnt, "We don’t have any solid evidence against Sophie. I only wanted to give them a heads up, so Stardust Garden could investigate and give Sophie a good lesson."

"But you! Yelling and slamming the table, didn’t you see Miss Clarkson’s facial expression?"

"Her grandson is a sickly fellow, and we are not supposed to ntion it? Trying to hide it, I bet he must look very scary!" Emily made a face, expressing her disdain.
