"Thanks to you, the subsidiary’s stock price has plumted."
Even though it wasn’t a good thing, Justin Battleson’s expression was quite relaxed.
"If soone is acting in the shadows, it won’t be long before the subsidiary might declare bankruptcy."
"So soon?" Charlotte Thompson exclaid in surprise.
"Do you not realize how significant the impact of this new brand is?" Justin Battleson reached out to hook Charlotte Thompson’s chin, smiling wryly.
"I didn’t realize I was this powerful." Charlotte blinked playfully, flashing Justin a bright smile.
"And on Leon’s side..."
"Of course, he will make a move, and he is sure to acquire and annex the subsidiary." Justin Battleson tapped his fingers lightly on the desk.
"How can you be so sure?"
"If he acquires the subsidiary, he’ll be able to buy into Riley Group; he would never pass up such an opportunity."
Justin Battleson’s words seed to remind Charlotte of sothing.
"So that’s why you haven’t handed over the subsidiary’s managent rights to soone else?"
Justin nodded as a matter of course, "Of course, the subsidiary holds the shares I control, and if the subsidiary encounters serious problems, Riley Group would also be affected."
The trap has already been set; now, it’s just a matter of when soone steps into it.
However, at this mont, Justin Battleson’s office door was knocked on, and Charlotte escaped from Justin’s embrace as Coco pushed open the door and ca in.
"Mr. Battleson, Miss Thompson, sothing bad has happened. There’s a disturbance below the company."
Hearing this, Charlotte and Justin exchanged glances, both stood up, and made their way downstairs.
Just out of the elevator, Charlotte heard screams coming from the lobby.
"You wicked businessn! You ruined my daughter!"
Charlotte looked up to see a middle-aged woman standing in the middle of the lobby, screaming with disheveled hair, her voice sowhat hoarse.
Around her were several company security guards, none of whom dared to approach.
Because the middle-aged woman was visibly pregnant, having been so for quite so ti, and there was also a young boy standing beside her.
Being pregnant with a child at her side only fueled the middle-aged woman’s unrestrained deanor.
"You heartless rchants! Earning this blood money, does it really sit well with you?"
"You’re bad people! Bad people!" The little boy echoed the middle-aged woman’s words.
"What’s happening?" Charlotte turned to look at Coco, quietly inquiring about the situation.
"This woman claims her daughter bought clothes from our new brand, which caused a severe adverse reaction due to the material, resulting in extensive skin burns. She’s supposedly still in intensive care."
"Burns?" Upon hearing these words, Charlotte blinked in confusion.
"That’s right, she said our clothes spontaneously combusted, which landed her daughter in the hospital."
Coco also looked inexplicably puzzled, finally pointing to a dark lump at the feet of the middle-aged woman.
"I arrived a bit late, but so people said they actually saw the clothes catch fire spontaneously."
A glint of light flashed through Charlotte’s eyes as her gaze fixated on the pile of clothing on the ground.
