Leaning in Justin Battleson’s arms, Charlotte Thompson softly responded.
Gently smoothing Charlotte’s furrowed brow, Justin said, "So what you need to do now is rest well, and don’t let yourself get worn out during Grace’s illness."
"Stay with ."
Charlotte lifted her head and tugged at Justin Battleson’s sleeve.
"I’m always here," Justin’s gaze was gentle.
But Charlotte, sitting on the bed, scooted over a bit and then lifted the quilt, "You haven’t slept all night either, rest a bit."
Then, without caring how Justin might react, Charlotte directly pulled his arm to guide him beside her.
Justin followed Charlotte’s actions and lay down by her side, reaching out to embrace her in his arms.
"Sleep," Justin kissed Charlotte on the forehead as he watched her close her eyes.
The strong heartbeat beat like a rhythm against Charlotte’s ear, yet it seed to weave the most harmonious lody, indeed lulling her into sleep.
Feeling Charlotte’s breathing gradually stabilize, Justin’s fingertips lightly traced her cheek.
Then he carefully released her, got out of bed and tucked her in.
Justin left the hospital room, and a doctor standing in the hallway imdiately approached upon seeing him.
"How’s the examination results?" Justin’s expression was grave.
The doctor held the examination report in his hands, hesitating to speak.
Not receiving an imdiate response, Justin swept his gaze over with so displeasure.
Frightened, the doctor trembled and dared not delay any longer, hurriedly handing over the report and saying:
"From the preliminary examination, it appears there are so inhibitory components in Miss Grace’s body, impeding her recovery."
"Inhibitory components?" Hearing this term, Justin furrowed his brow in confusion.
"How could such a condition arise?"
"Actually, so dications used in treating heart disease can contain such components. This report shows Miss Grace’s condition over the past week. These dications can suppress heart disease outbreaks, but given Miss Grace’s youth, it’s not suitable for her use. It’s best to avoid them in the future."
"Heart disease dication taken within a week?" A cold gleam flashed in Justin’s eyes.
Not knowing what was happening, the doctor beside Justin felt like he couldn’t breathe, overwheld by an invisible pressure, causing his legs to tremble.
"Yes, dications for treating heart disease have significant side effects..." The doctor swallowed nervously.
"Got it, find a treatnt thod as soon as possible."
Justin acknowledged with a nod, then he looked down at the report, his fingertips continuously tightening.
It’s a report from within a week, but he distinctly rembered, not just a week, but for over half a month, Grace hadn’t taken those dications.
The doctor initially treating Grace had inford both Justin and Charlotte that Grace’s current condition was not suitable for such dications to suppress the illness.
Yet now, there was this examination report.
Justin did not believe Grace would secretly take these drugs herself.
Moreover, Grace had always been by their side, and even at preschool, she was accompanied by other kids and wouldn’t know anyone else.
Justin furrowed his brow and fell into deep thought.
