Annie Anne lifted her gaze and t the bartender’s eyes.
Her lips were tightly pursed, ignoring the bartender’s words, simply raising her chin to signal him to refill her empty glass.
The bartender’s gaze subtly drifted towards a certain booth, yet he said nothing and followed Annie Anne’s request to pour the drink.
Annie Anne lowered her eyes, watching the droplets slide down the glass wall and finally onto her fingertips.
Her shoulders slightly slumped, her expression revealing her terrible mood at the mont.
She and Charlotte Thompson had known each other for so long and had never seed to have a quarrel.
But now, this kind of thing happened.
What flooded Annie Anne’s mind was still Charlotte Thompson’s disappointed expression when she looked at her.
This made Annie Anne lower her head in frustration, covering half her face with her palm.
Just as Charlotte had said, she had already decided to collaborate with Leon Battleson; how could she not know his true intention?
She had betrayed Charlotte.
The music originally ant to liven the mood in the bar now fell on Annie Anne’s ears, making her feel restless and disturbed. She tightened her palm and suddenly stood up from her chair.
"No, I need to apologize to Charlotte."
Annie Anne decided to tell Charlotte Thompson about the things buried deep in her heart.
However, Annie Anne’s actions were a bit hurried as she got up, and while she was rummaging for her phone to contact Charlotte, she didn’t notice the person coming towards her, leading to a direct collision.
Annie Anne painfully clutched her shoulder, and the cold drink splashed all over her, soaking a large part of her clothes.
"I’m sorry, I’m so sorry."
A voice full of urgency sounded in front of Annie Anne, followed by a hand reaching over to help her clean her clothes.
Though Annie Anne hadn’t expected such a thing to happen, she was irritated but did not vent it on the person before her.
However, when she lifted her eyes to et the person’s gaze, both stood stunned on the spot.
"Riley Thompson?"
Annie Anne thought she had rely bumped into so bar staff but didn’t expect it to be Riley Thompson.
She seed well-dressed, perhaps not expecting to et an acquaintance here, so her expression was quite unpleasant.
The next mont, Riley Thompson looked a bit panicked, lowering her head to cover her face, but it was evident that her actions had an inadvertently amusing effect.
"Why are you here? I rember today... you seed to have taken sick leave from the crew to rest?"
"I..." Riley Thompson opened her mouth, her overly flustered expression preventing her from imdiately explaining.
Nonetheless, Annie Anne harbored little interest in Riley Thompson’s affairs, cast her a glance, and was about to walk away when Riley whimpered, covering her cheek.
"Annie Anne, I beg you, please don’t ntion seeing here today."
Riley Thompson pleaded to Annie Anne, saying, "I don’t want to do this either, but I really have no choice. It was my agent who asked to co; I really want this opportunity."
Although Riley didn’t explicitly clarify, Annie Anne understood why she was here.
"Please, don’t tell anyone about this, okay?"
