"What skills does Charlotte Thompson have, just because she married Justin Battleson, does she really think she’s that impressive?"
Charlotte Thompson isn’t in the habit of eavesdropping.
However, upon hearing her own na, Charlotte naturally stopped in her tracks.
"Sumr, don’t be mad. Among your suitors, aren’t there any rich kids? Plus, isn’t there a rumor that... the marriage between Justin Battleson and Charlotte Thompson was forced because she used a child as leverage?"
"Also, I don’t think Charlotte is as pretty as you are, Sumr. She must have had sothing done. It’s really shaless to resort to such ans to marry into a wealthy family."
Listening to the slander against her, Charlotte felt more amused than angry.
The people inside seed to be saying more, but Charlotte chose that mont to open the door and walk in.
Charlotte was sowhat thankful that Annie Anne and Riley Thompson’s two productions had temporarily rged.
Otherwise, how could she overhear such entertaining remarks!
Perhaps not expecting soone to suddenly co in, the two people in the room were stunned, one of them being Sumr Lilian.
Having been caught gossiping, the two wore awkward expressions.
The small-ti actor who had been talking with Sumr hurriedly left the lounge, while Sumr quickly adjusted her expression and gave Charlotte an icy snort.
"Why didn’t you knock before coming in? That’s basic etiquette, don’t you know?" Sumr’s voice was cold and hard.
Charlotte raised an eyebrow sarcastically, "I wonder if basic etiquette taught you, Miss Sumr, not to gossip behind people’s backs?"
Biting her lip at Charlotte’s retort, Sumr glared at her, then approached Charlotte with angry strides in her high heels, glaring directly at her.
"How long do you think you can keep your arrogance, Charlotte?"
"Miss Sumr, I don’t recall having any grudge against you." Charlotte tilted her head, genuinely puzzled by Sumr’s incessant targeting.
But Sumr’s next words offered Charlotte a clue.
"Charlotte, how much longer do you think you can stay by Justin’s side? He will soon tire of you."
"Oh? How would Miss Sumr know that?" Charlotte gave Sumr a curious glance, the gears turning in her mind.
She suddenly rembered that Sumr seed to be an artist under Justin Battleson’s entertainnt company.
Sumr didn’t respond further but rely raised the corners of her mouth at Charlotte.
"Miss Sumr, you got one thing right just now. I did marry into wealth."
Charlotte crossed her arms and smiled at Sumr, "But you seed to forget one thing—I am the heiress of the Thompson Family, I’ve always been elite."
Charlotte’s smile was bright, yet none of it touched her eyes.
"Miss Sumr, I’m unsure what point you’re trying to make with your nonsensical words, but I’m not one to enjoy creating trouble. However, that doesn’t an I’ll stand by and tolerate everything."
Charlotte’s words made Sumr step back a bit, her hand pressing onto the dressing table.
"You actually dare to threaten !"
"Miss Sumr, this is a warning."
