"I never thought I’d run into Leon Battleson in the restaurant today."
Charlotte Thompson looked up at Justin Battleson in front of her, telling him everything that had happened today.
But after hearing Charlotte’s explanation, Justin’s expression didn’t soften much, and he even cast a slightly scrutinizing gaze upon her.
This look from Justin made Charlotte a bit uneasy, and even her voice sounded sowhat aggrieved.
"Don’t you trust ?"
Justin took a deep breath, calming the irritation in his chest, and then slightly tightened his grip, pulling Charlotte into his embrace.
His cheek buried in Charlotte’s neck, his arms almost using all their strength to confine her, as if wanting to ld her into his own body.
"Then why did he touch you?" Justin’s voice was sowhat muffled.
"He suddenly grabbed my hand, and I couldn’t break free." Charlotte explained softly.
"I didn’t want him to touch either, I’m sorry. From now on, if I et him again, I’ll stay far away from him, alright? I won’t have any contact with him."
Upon hearing Charlotte’s words, Justin finally loosened his arms and reached out to tidy her slightly ssy hair.
"I know, I know. It’s just that I sowhat lost control of my temper."
Now for Justin, Leon Battleson was like a thorn in his heart, and now it also involved Charlotte, making it impossible for Justin to remain at ease.
"Yeah, you did hurt earlier." Charlotte softened her gaze and pitifully held out her hand to Justin, showing him the marks on her arm.
"What happened?"
Holding Charlotte’s fingertips, a hint of guilt appeared on Justin’s face, but he really hadn’t noticed the marks on her hand.
Justin’s question naturally reminded Charlotte of what happened today, and she couldn’t help but sigh, briefly explaining to Justin about the situation with Annie Anne.
"That model was really too despicable. No matter what, I won’t let him off the hook."
As she spoke, Charlotte angrily clenched her fist.
Then, as if rembering sothing, Charlotte turned to Justin and said, "By the way, have you ever investigated Riley Thompson’s background?"
Unexpectedly, Charlotte switched topics so quickly, Justin first responded, then nodded.
"Today in the restaurant, I discovered sothing particularly strange." Charlotte placed her palm on Justin’s wrist, naturally holding onto his thumb pad.
"I sensed... sothing odd between Riley and Leon."
"Hmm?"
Charlotte’s words made Justin raise his eyebrows slightly.
He rembered that in the information he had investigated, there were supposed to be no ties between Leon and Riley.
"Initially, in the restaurant, it was just Riley and , but when Leon arrived, I noticed Riley’s expression toward him was very strange. If I wasn’t mistaken, there was even... fear in her eyes."
Recalling Riley’s expression at that mont, Charlotte furrowed her brows.
"So out of curiosity, I asked Riley if she knew Leon. Riley answered without hesitation, saying they didn’t know each other, but the feeling was so odd, as if she was eager to clear up sothing..."
"Are you suspecting that Riley and Leon might actually know each other?"
Hearing Charlotte’s words, Justin asked aloud.
