Riley Thompson thought carefully for a mont, which suddenly seed to trigger a mory, and she continued on:
"Yes, I think I also heard a na, it seems like... Mia Carter!"
Upon hearing these three words, Charlotte Thompson’s pupils shook: "What did you say?"
Perhaps not expecting such a big reaction from Charlotte, Riley was slightly startled, as if she had gotten quite a shock.
"Is this person a friend of Miss Anne’s?"
When Annie Anne and Mia Carter had that incident in the crew, Riley might not have entered the entertainnt industry yet, so she didn’t know.
But at this mont, Charlotte was lost in her own thoughts.
Because she rembered sothing Mia Carter had said before.
Mia Carter did tamper with the prop ladder, but it wasn’t where Annie had slipped and fallen.
Initially, Charlotte just thought Mia’s explanation was useless sophistry, but thinking about it again now, it seed sothing was not quite right.
"Miss Thompson."
Subrged in her own thoughts at this ti, Charlotte ignored Riley’s call.
It wasn’t until Riley repeated her call a few tis that Charlotte snapped back to reality.
Seeing Charlotte’s face looking a bit off, Riley worriedly asked, "What’s wrong? Did sothing happen? Is it related to this Mia Carter?"
"Nothing, it was just an accident at that ti."
Charlotte didn’t explain what had happened, and besides, if Riley really wanted to know, she could easily find it online.
However, Charlotte was sowhat surprised that Riley would say these things to her.
At this mont, Riley’s thoughts coincided with Charlotte’s.
"Miss Thompson, are you surprised why I would say these things to you? You might think I’m overly concerned about Miss Anne’s affairs."
As she said this, Riley licked her sowhat dry lips, and then a slightly odd smile crept up her mouth.
"Actually, I used to have a cousin."
Charlotte squinted her eyes.
"She was always a lively and cheerful person, but I never thought she would suffer from depression. I never thought soone with her personality could develop such an illness."
Riley rubbed her fingertips, "When I saw her again later, she had completely changed, feeling very unfamiliar to . Not long after that, I heard... about her suicide."
"So, when I see Miss Anne, I always think of my cousin. I feel they have a lot of similarities."
Since Charlotte didn’t speak, Riley touched her cheek, then inexplicably gave a dry laugh.
"Does Miss Thompson find my words too strange? I actually... I’m sorry, I don’t know how to explain, I..."
Saying this, Riley looked a bit flustered, but after stamring for a long ti, she couldn’t piece together a complete sentence.
But upon seeing Riley like this, Charlotte slowly said, "I know what you’re trying to say."
