Before Charlotte Thompson could say anything, the man’s gaze had already fallen on the box in the sales assistant’s hand, and he unceremoniously took out the tie.
"It’s really beautiful. Who would have thought Miss Thompson would know that my favorite tie color is gray? Is this fate?"
The man’s sowhat frivolous words left Charlotte feeling inexplicably uncomfortable, causing her to frown slightly.
However, the man continued speaking as if nothing had happened: "Since it’s a gift from Miss Thompson, I will definitely cherish it."
"Sir, I think you misunderstand..."
Charlotte took a deep breath, just about to explain, but the man pulled out a business card from his pocket, held it between two fingers, and handed it to Charlotte.
"Miss Thompson, this is my business card. You can contact anyti, anywhere, and I know a very nice restaurant nearby. How about I take Miss Thompson there, and we can chat over a al?"
At this point, how could Charlotte not understand what the man ant?
But she didn’t even glance at the business card in the man’s hand and directly refused: "No need."
"Miss Thompson has already given such an expensive gift. If I don’t treat Miss Thompson to a al, wouldn’t that be impolite?"
The man took a step forward, softening his tone considerably.
His words filled Charlotte with regret.
Wasn’t she just shooting herself in the foot?
Originally, she just wanted to use the tie and tie clip to mock Lily Cooper, yet now she’d gotten herself into such a big ss.
"Sir, please don’t misunderstand. The tie and tie clip I chose were ant to remind Miss Howard, they have nothing to do with you."
"Miss Thompson, you’re quite humorous. Actually, I noticed from the mont I entered this store, that Miss Thompson’s attention has been on , right?"
The man crossed his arms, even slightly raising his chin, showing a look of having already seen through Charlotte’s thoughts.
Saying that, the man glanced in another direction, then wore a look of sudden realization.
"I understand, there are just too many people here. There are so things we can discuss privately, right Miss Thompson?"
At this point, the man even reached out, trying to grab Charlotte, causing her expression to change instantly.
Is sothing wrong with this person, who gave him such confidence?
Just as Charlotte was about to step back to avoid him, a pale hand quickly intervened between her and the man, creating distance.
"I didn’t expect to et you here."
A slightly amused voice sounded next to Charlotte, and she turned her head relieved, though her heart didn’t ease upon seeing who it was.
"Seems like you’re in so trouble, need so help?" Seeing Charlotte in front of him, Leon Battleson’s smile deepened.
Charlotte hadn’t expected to run into Leon Battleson here, and she couldn’t help but take a step back.
The man harassing Charlotte also didn’t expect soone to suddenly intervene between him and Charlotte, and instantly, his expression turned displeased.
"Where did you co from, daring to..."
But before the man could finish, Leon Battleson lazily lifted his eyes to look at him.
Instantly, the man’s voice seed to be caught in his throat by a large hand, and his previously impatient expression turned to terror.
"Mr. Battleson... Why are you here?"
