More rogues ca from all directions. I couldn’t believe there were wolves that were so good at hiding their aura.

If I could learn such a skill, I would be unstoppable when Lizzie awakened.

There were at least fifteen rogues this ti. They surrounded us and trapped us in the middle.

The warriors I had brought tensed while others panicked.

However, I knew that I had to stay calm, I couldn’t collapse from fear at this mont.

There were people counting on .

"This is bad." One of the warriors muttered and I realized that if I let the panic spread, we would die faster under the rogues’ claws.

"Everyone, listen." I called out to them with urgency in my voice.

All eyes turned to , even Andrew’s.

"Let’s not try to break out imdiately. asure their strength first while protecting those with injuries."

"What if they overwhelm us?" Soone asked.

"We can’t let fear control us. If we fight with everything we have, we still have a chance to survive. But if we give up before we even start, then what’s the point of that reputation the Night claw pack carries around about being one of the powerful packs in the region?" I knew that now wasn’t the ti to comfort them.

The warriors needed morale and reminding them of their pride might buy us a chance.

"Do it," Andrew ordered.

We ford two layers of circles right when the rogues attacked.

The battle this ti was more intense than the previous one.

However, I stayed close to the injured rembering the training my father gave before he passed away.

He was a lead warrior and he assud I would beco one in the future too.

So, he taught so battle strategies especially when outnumbered or overpowered.

Now as I fought, I rembered those lessons and applied them.

I gave instructions about how to attack, where to defend, and when to retreat.

One by one, the rogues fell without ever breaking our defense.

Until the last one fled.

There were so warriors who got injured during the battle.

I had so injuries too and since Lizzie wasn’t awake, I couldn’t heal as fast as usual.

However, after applying dicine and bandaging the wounds, I felt better.

Besides, such small wounds, even though I had so deep cuts, were nothing to .

I was used to having heavy injuries on my body.

Just as I was finishing up on helping to bandage the last injured warrior, one of them ca over to .

It was the warrior who had contradicted before.

"Luna..."

I was surprised that he would address like that.

They had always said that I didn’t deserve the title or position of Luna. So, what happened for him to call by my title so respectfully?

"I am sorry, I was wrong." He bowed down and apologized.

Then,as if in a domino effect, one by one, the others ca to apologize as well.

I was stunned, but didn’t show it on my face.

I nodded slightly and smiled.

"Let’s go ho."

Without hesitation, everyone stood up to follow .

By the ti the pack gates ca into view, the sun was already dipping low in the sky.

Golden light stretched across the land, bathing everything in warmth.

It should have felt comforting.

It should have felt like relief.

But as I walked at the front of the group, my arm still stinging from the shallow claw wound and dried blood clinging to my skin, I knew that there was no real peace waiting for inside.

"Open the gates!" one of the warriors called out.

The guards stiffened when they saw us.

I could tell that they hadn’t expected us to co back so quickly or in such a bad state.

We were all bloodied and covered in wounds.

The gates opened quickly but as soon as we stepped inside, whispers began circulating.

"What happened?"

"They’re back!"

"Look at them..."

"Is that blood?!"

"Were they attacked?"

Voices overlapped, rising into a chaotic wave as pack mbers rushed closer.

So gasped at the sight of the injured.

Others whispered in disbelief.

"They found them!"

"They’re alive!"

The chaos turned into excitent, relief, and joy.

The rescued mbers were quickly surrounded, their families rushing forward with cries and tears.

So collapsed into each other.

Others wept openly.

I felt a strange unfamiliar feeling in my chest. Watching the warmth of families being reunited reminded that I would never have such a mont.

One of the rescued won caught my eye.

Her face was bruised, her lips pale, but her gaze was clear.

She mouthed two words.

Thank you.

I looked away imdiately because I wasn’t used to people thanking after doing things for them.

For years as a slave, I never heard one word of gratitude from those I did chores for.

But today, I didn’t know how to handle the sudden gratitude.

"Make way!"

Andrew’s voice cut through the noise.

"Get the injured to the hospital imdiately!"

The excited atmosphere changed instantly as people made paths and gave way.

I stepped aside as the injured were escorted away.

My body suddenly felt heavier.

Now that it was over...

The exhaustion hit hard.

"You should get that looked at."

I glanced sideways.

Andrew stood beside , his arm wrapped in a makeshift bandage, his posture still firm despite everything.

"It’s nothing," I replied.

"It’s not nothing," he said. "You were hit."

"You have huge wounds too." I said with a smile.

"The difference is, I am used to it."

Pain to was like a familiar friend who hadn’t visited for a long ti.

Now that I was hurt and feeling pain again, it actually made happy. Because it proves that I am still alive.

I wondered if I have developed so masochistic tendencies.

Before we could continue our conversation, an angry voice interrupted us.

"What happened here?!"

The crowd fell silent instantly.

I didn’t need to turn to know who it was.
