Seth looked down at the odd little creature with a mixture of contempt, confusion and a hint of disgust. It was currently grovelling at his feet, pawing at his boot and practically slobbering over it like it was one of those particular internet weirdos. A thought that in no way made the situation any better, and in fact made it infinitely worse in his head, hence the disgust.

It was still muttering in whatever language it spoke. He couldn't understand a damn thing it was saying, but he recognised that the words held so familiarity. They shared similarities with the language that the dragon spoke, before it had bead coordinates into his head.

In fact... Looking at this creature now, a little humanoid lizard, it was not the only similarity it shared with the dragon. Although it's scales were red instead of black, and it had no wings to speak of, he couldn't deny the fact that it looked like the infant spawn of that draconic fem fatal. Actually, with the way it stood and held itself, it was more like the spawn of the dragon and a human. A particular thought that brought a whole new wave of complicated emotions that he had to deal with.

Wonderful.

Tossing aside the host of ntal images that invaded his mind, many of which would have gotten him fired had he displayed them in his work computer, Seth looked down at the little dragonling again before gently pushing it off of his foot with the butt of his spear.

Shaking the viscous slobber off his boot, Seth kept the creature at a respectable distance before sighing at its mutterings.

"I have no idea what you are saying. God, we're going to really need to start toting around one of those communication people as a translator at this rate. Is there any chance at all that you can understand English?"

"Oh? Yes yes. I speak. I speak. You not speak Elder tongue?"

"No, my schools seem to have missed that one, sorry. First things first. Please, no more slobber."

"Yes yes, I is sorry. I is taught this sign of respect in human culture."

Seth narrowed his eyes at the odd creature, not off put at its broken English but rather what possible sources it had consulted to think that was how it should behave. In fact, it was probably better off if he didn't know.

"Alright then... You can speak. Now, what is it that you want? Why are you here and what have you done to Olette?"

"I is here because Mistress wills it. I am good servant, she wants to know that you are too. I am to watch and report. To guide, make sure you do good for Mistress."

"I'm guessing that your Mistress is the dragon?"

"Ah yes yes. Mistress is one of the Great Scaled Ones, I is honoured to serve Mistress."

"Now what about Olette, what is happening to him? I swear if your Mistress did sothing to him..."

Seth's fist tightened around the tallic shaft of his spear, his blood beginning to boil within his veins once more. Black veins crawled their way onto his face slowly but surely, encroaching across his pale façade like a poison before Seth closed his eyes and focused on quelling the building rage.

After a few seconds of concentration and ditative breathing, the black veins slowly retracted and the bubbling blood was reduced down to a gentle simr. His rage reduced, but still there... waiting to burst.

"Mistress would never hurt. Your bond is kin, Mistress is helping. You are one who is hurting him."

The spear flashed, no longer was it resting against the ground while Seth leaned against it. Now it was held outwards, the razor sharp point glistening wickedly as it was held a hairs length away from the creatures throat.

The black lines of rage had once again invaded Seth's face, which was twisted into an ugly expression.

"Choose your next words very carefully Lizard."

The strange little creature gulped softly, which pushed its scaled throat against the spear ti ever so slightly, before looking up at Seth once more. Yet despite the precarious situation it was in, as it looked at his face it seed to be... smiling?

"His blood is wonderful, yes? It has such wonderful scent. When you anger, ooohh It sll so much better. So sweet~ Blood give you anger, Anger give you power. Power to make wonderful slaughter. Oh I loved watching such wonderful slaughter."

"What did I tell you about choosing your words carefully?"

His temper flared once more, forcing the spear tip into the little lizard mans throat, not enough to pierce it yet but a thin white line was drawn across its once pristine red scales. Thankfully, that was enough to give it the ssage yet even still it couldn't help but laugh.

"Silly human, you not understand. Blood give you anger because you are too weak to handle blood. But Bond is strong, stronger than human. Blood is what started his change, Blood is what make you change. Blood is what he needs. Feed him His blood, make him strong. It is only way now. His body eating itself up trying to change.

Without blood, he dies."

With one last cackling laugh, his crimson scales shimred with a wave of rainbow light before he faded completely from existence, the pressure against Seth's spear disappearing entirely. Of course, he didn't actually disappear, he had just shifted to the soul plane once more.

Gritting his teeth, Seth retracted his spear and shrunk it back down to its smallest size to sheathe it. Still staring at the spot where the creature had been, he spoke out into the air.

"What do I call you?"

The words hung in the air for a few seconds, almost seeming as if he was never going to reply, but just as he was preparing to leave he finally heard the little creatures voice appearing out of thin air.

"Bond is called Olette. This is how you na kin, yes? Then my human world na shall be Nugget. Nad from Great Scaled Ones of your world, Dino Nuggets. Most wonderful na, yes?"

"Yeah, absolutely amazing. Suits you perfectly."

Seth couldn't help but chuckle to himself before sighing in frustration at his situation. After digesting what 'Nugget' had told him, Seth made his way back to Astra and Olette.

As he walked, he raised his hand and - using the point of his shrunken spear, drew a line across the palm of his hand. Wincing at the flash of pain, he watched the thick black blood well up in his palm and stay there.

Almost as if it knew what he was doing, it refused to fall from his palm like a normal liquid, which was normal for this blood, but it also didn't retreat back into him. In normal circumstances it would refuse to leave his body, instead imdiately clotting his wounds, but now it was gathering as if it was eagerly waiting its chance to enter Olette.

Strolling past Astra with heavy steps, Seth didn't dare make eye contact her in case she was able to suck the secrets out of his soul just by looking into his eyes. She seed to be good at that.

He stopped next to Olette's torso, crouching down and placed his head against his body. His head rose and fell with each laboured breath of the Wyvern, as Seth placed his hands against one of Olette's lingering wounds.

The black blood eagerly latched onto the wound and began crawling its way deep inside, invading Olette's blood stream like a virus. His body vibrated underneath Seth's head, as Olette let out a series of whimpering cries and grunts.

His constant wriggling lifted his head from Astra's lap, causing the girl to stand and back away in case she was hit by him, fearing hurting him in the process instead of herself getting hurt, but Seth kept himself directly next to Olette.

His hand pressed against his side as the blood drained out of him, whilst he pressed his forehead against Olette's side no matter how much he struggled and wriggled.

"I'm sorry buddy... I did this to you, but I'm gonna make it better. I promise, I'll make it better. Just bear with it, it'll be over soon."

The feathers still clinging to Olette's body turned to ash, crumbling away like an ancient scroll being touched by sunlight for the first ti in centuries. New feathers burst through Olette's skin, taking the place of those that were crumbling, only for those new feathers to wilt and dissolve themselves.

It was like watching the cycle of the seasons as hundreds of years passed in re seconds. A constant repetition of growth, death and renewal over and over.

Seth could feel Olette shiver every single ti a new feather tore itself through his skin and blood into existence, only to die monts later. It seed almost cruel, a practice in tornt for no conceivable reason.

That was until the feathers spurting from his skin were replaced with sothing entirely different.
