Since everything was out in the open, Iris saw no point in hiding anything. What once seed so appetizing was now tasteless, yet even if it was tasteless, it was made by Seraphina Colbert, and she wouldn’t waste it. She took a few vigorous bites, chewing as she said, "I found out that it’s my sister you love."
Lachlan’s posture turned rigid.
"I’m my sister’s stand-in, maybe because of this face." Putting down her chopsticks, Iris spoke bluntly, pointing at herself, "You saved back then because I resemble my sister, didn’t you?"
Leo Langdon, overhearing this shocking revelation from behind, was so startled that the cucumber he was munching on almost slipped from his grasp. Oh my, Iris speaks so bluntly!
Generally, when a girl is treated as a substitute, she’s devastated, complaining about the unfairness of the world, followed by a scene where the jerk gets what he deserves, but Iris! Iris said it so casually!
It was as if she had accepted this fact long ago!
Lachlan’s pupils constricted, his voice already sowhat hoarse, "How did you find out?"
"I investigated."
"Your personal information shouldn’t reveal that much."
"Jas Chesterton’s can."
Iris smiled, "I used his identity ID, and I was able to infiltrate."
"Hah."
Lachlan said sarcastically, "Jas really spoils you."
"At least he didn’t treat as a stand-in for his own sister."
Iris looked directly into Lachlan’s eyes. He was so strong and handso, that many won were willing to go to great lengths for him, yet it seed Lachlan never cared about what the won around him sacrificed; he seed not to love anyone.
Except, maybe, her sister.
"My sister lives abroad, so we don’t communicate much." Iris took a deep breath, closed her eyes, then opened them, her voice trembling as she spoke, "It was during that ti that you two were in a relationship, wasn’t it?"
Lachlan was silent, but silence said it all.
Iris had imagined countless ways to uncover the truth, but ultimately chose the most direct approach — asking Lachlan outright.
Lachlan didn’t hide it either, he slowly said, "We weren’t dating."
"Were the feelings mutual?"
Lachlan fell silent again.
Confronting this harsh truth firsthand made Iris feel a subtle, inescapable ache spreading from deep within her heart.

Hearing Iris’s trembling voice, Lachlan was taken aback.
He didn’t respond; Iris assud the silence was an acknowledgnt, and she couldn’t suppress the sharpness in her voice anymore, her tone slightly rising, "Lachlan, are you truly not afraid of making sad?"
