Hearing Iris Crawford say "Goodbye," Steven Rhodes knew she had already made up her mind.

He took a deep breath, "I understand, Iris, I will return to see you as a better version of myself."
"The savings you’ve accumulated over the years by my side are enough to support you, and your sister will soon be released from prison, you just need to go pick her up."
Iris said softly, "Don’t make regret helping you, Steven."
Steven gave Iris a deep look, his eyes reddening with emotion.

Steven handed his resignation letter to Iris, "I have signed it, please review it, President Crawford."
Iris took it, and upon seeing the signature, her heart trembled.
When she looked up, Steven had already left the office, his departing figure upright, ti flowing by, and Iris seed to see his youthful and innocent self from five years ago, then he vanished.
The resignation letter had a line at the bottom.

Iris smiled, folded the resignation letter, and placed it carefully into the drawer.

Originally thinking today would be a calm day, aside from personally sending Steven off, unexpectedly, soone ca looking for her in the afternoon. Hearing her unfamiliar assistant report a familiar na, Iris was still a bit taken aback.
"Evelyn Rowan?"
Iris sneered inwardly, what is she coming here for?
But before she could give the order to et, a sound of footsteps ca from outside the door, and monts later, the owner of the footsteps burst into Iris’s office. Looking closely, it was indeed Evelyn Rowan!
Iris instinctively frowned, "Do you take our company as your ho? Coming and going without orders—"
Before she could finish speaking, Evelyn raised her hand and slapped Iris on the face!
This sudden act stunned the assistant on the side, who quickly stepped forward to stop it, "Security! Call security now!"
"Security? Even the emperor couldn’t protect you!" Evelyn had lost all semblance of the proper etiquette she maintained in public, squinting her eyes with hatred towards Iris, saying, "You despicable woman, what did you whisper to Lachlan that made him bla for everything!"
Iris’s head was still tilted when Evelyn raised her hand for a second slap, "What did you say to Lachlan! Why would he bla ! Everything was fine for five years, you twice-divorced liability, what gives you the right to make Lachlan so distraught!"
As Evelyn finished the last sentence, her palm was already swinging towards Iris. But in the next second, Iris tilted her head, effortlessly dodging Evelyn’s slap.
Evelyn was stunned.
Her... movents are so fast.
"A whole five years."
Iris gently wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, her bright red nails seed to flow like a current. The pain made her sneer like a ghost, the familiar sensation made her invigorated, and she lowered her voice, speaking one word at a ti, "It’s been a whole five years since a woman as vile and stupid as you ca to my door and yelled at ."
