Hearing Lachlan Wyatt’s words "Co with ," Iris Crawford’s heart quivered.
Lachlan rarely pleads with anyone, but this ti, Iris saw in his eyes a nearly helpless longing.
The door handle was held by Lachlan, preventing the car door from closing. Iris said to Lachlan, "Go back? To where?"
"Iris..."
Lachlan shivered, as if he had no other option, "What will it take for you to co back with ?"
"I have no place to go back with you to." Faced with Lachlan’s plea, Iris closed her eyes, and only after a mont did she open them again, eting his fragnted gaze. She said, "Those places have long ceased to exist, destroyed by your own hands."
Lachlan had never been this desperate before.
It turned out this was the greatest despair, not life and death partings, not never seeing each other again, but that she was right in front of you, yet there was nothing you could do to salvage it.
Lachlan stared blankly at Iris, his face filled with agony.
The two of them just stared at each other for a long ti. Lachlan finally spoke, "Really... there’s no way at all?"
Even though we’re this close.
"I’m not the kind of person who can easily let go of everything." Iris took a deep breath, "Rather, the past is too heavy, I simply can’t let it go. Those who easily give in, deserve every bit of grievance."
Lachlan felt as if he’d been dealt a heavy blow. He couldn’t recover, then stepped back two steps, almost letting go of the door, "How can I make it up to you?"
"In the past, I thought of making you cry for , wanted to see you regret not doing things sooner. Because that would an I’d won this battle in love."
She wanted to win so much, no matter what it took. Because in this ga, surrender is losing.
Iris spoke the words absent-mindedly, as if recounting sothing from a distance, her voice growing fainter, "But now, I don’t think that way anymore. I just want you to forget ."
I just want you to forget .
This was the silence of despair.
Lachlan frowned, as if he was in extre pain.
"Is it too late for to say anything now?"
Lachlan noticed Iris’s calm deanor. He couldn’t believe that all his efforts could no longer stir even the slightest emotion from her. Deluding himself, Lachlan stepped forward and grasped Iris’s shoulders, "Do you feel nothing at all? Don’t you—"
Love anymore...
He didn’t voice it, but Iris seed to guess it. She opened her mouth and gave Lachlan a piercing blow, "I don’t love you anymore."
Those three short words plunged him into hell.
Iris, back then, I turned the clouds and rain as I pleased, thinking you were rely a canary in my hand. Yet now, I’ve been bitten back till I’m a bloody ss.
Iris glanced at Lachlan, "Let go, I’m leaving."
After saying this, she pushed Lachlan forcefully. When the car door closed, Lachlan reached his hand in to block it, getting caught. The sharp pain made him groan.
"Are you crazy!"
Iris pried Lachlan’s fingers open one by one, "Do you know what you’re doing!"
"Don’t go, what if I beg you."
Lachlan was incoherent, "Let’s start over... Iris, I... I still have ti..."
"It’s already too late."
Iris threw down these words, closed the car door again. With a step on the accelerator by Steven Rhodes, the car sped past Lachlan, leaving his heart-wrenching cries behind.
"Isn’t it enough that I admit I love you!"
It felt like a knife stabbed into her chest, and Iris’s face turned pale.
"I admit you won!" Lachlan, like an abandoned teddy bear, nearly roared his soul out, and in the end, he couldn’t even control his tears. Sothing poured out along with the tears, and his voice suddenly lowered, "I love you, Iris, don’t leave , I beg you..."
